This is a good devotional type book, encouraging to read short reflections, prompts, scriptures, and written prayers. I was blessed by it. Would be a good resource for churches and small groups.

My only issue is that it kept using the Greek word "dunamis" in ways that distracted me, (e.g. "God's dunamis power") which is akin to saying, "God's power power." Another example, "the resurrection power dunamis" It's not helpful for the authors to state our English word "dynamite" comes from this Greek word. They use dunamis more adjectivally (powerful, dynamic) Consult a Greek dictionary and dunamis is a noun that means "power, or strength, ability"

Apart from this confusing transliteration throughout, this was a helpful resource!

This is a solid book in experimenting or practicing one's prayer life with power and grace. There's little exposition on the definition of prayer and whatnot because that's not the point. Go and practice prayer!

Picardo and Kibbey offer exercises and direction to guide you. I'll be honest: I didn't stick to one chapter a day. Still, by the end, I had a lot of useful insights and stronger habits.

Good advice - this would be a great tool in a discussion group if the leader would encourage the reader/learner to explore expressing their own words in prayers, not simply read the writers words. In fact, if used in a weekly presentation, the participants could be encouraged to discuss how the developed the various techniques.
