Elissa used to daydream about being a princess. Now the reality of what it brings is stiff, courtly manners, dresses like cages, tortuously high shoes, and betrothal to an aging duke to secure her father’s kingdom! Elissa wants no part of it and makes her escape to be with her devoted friends, who the King has no use for. But the unseen hand of the Ancient One once again guides Elissa toward a fate she does not wish to acknowledge—the culmination of the prophecy of the Phoenix!
This bright and satisfying conclusion to the Phoenix Rising Trilogy includes riveting adventure, the testing of loyalties, and the return of two old enemies . . . not to mention surprising revelations for our heroine, Elissa—and her fans. It’s not to be missed!
My daughter fell ill when she was eight, and for nearly two years she was unable to attend school. I spent a great deal of that time entertaining her with stories about an intrepid young girl named Elissa, who could talk with animals. Many years later she asked me to write those stories down. (I did, because I do everything my daughter says.) Once I had written them down, she told me to get them published.
A few years later, Random House published those stories as a trilogy, Elissa's Quest, Elissa's Odyssey and World's End. I discovered I liked writing, so I have kept at it ever since.
My current project is a fantasy about a girl who falls in love with Fire, jumps into a volcano, and emerges unscathed to battle Alexander the Great's Army. (My son has told me to publish it. I do everything he says as well.)
Great ending to this trilogy. I wanted to read these books because my name is Elissa and I've never read a book where the main character has my name. It was a great adventure!
I CAN"T FIND THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...poo...

We return to the fantastic world in which the young princess, Elissa, lives. Elissa now lives in Castlemar with her 'Father' and the King, Fauk. But to her it isn't all great. Actually it isn't great at all. And when Fauk decides to marry Elissa to a bad man (I'm sorry; I forget his name) she finally runs away. She wants to board the ship that Maya is on, but accidentally goes on the ship that is going north. Oops. So she runs into all sorts of trouble. Well not really, the storyline is extremely short and simple. And the end, well I didn't really like the end that much so I won't try to summarize it. There's hardly any foreshadowing to it though, and it's a bit disappointing. Favian waited till last minute to tell Elissa that he wants to be her suitor, not even that he loves her, just that he wants to be her suitor.
I think that the author got a bit tired of this series because of the way it ended, and also the epilogue was a bit... weird... but oh well...
This series had so much potential and the author is a great writer it's just the plot never followed up. There were a lot of confusing things in the novel that I honestly think would be above the age that this book is meant for.
The follow through and conclusion to the relationships were just left out of there. Also I really felt the talking animals in this story were just thrown out there.
I really wanted to like this book as it's looked like a great series for girls to get interested in fantasy books. I just don't feel that this book will bring that interest.
This was an amazing ending to one of the best middle-grade series I have ever read! All the characters are engaging, the plot was spun with thought and grace, and the humor was splendid. I loved this series, devouring each book as fast as I could. I especially loved how happy the ending was -- all ends tied up nicely and happily-ever-afters all around. Verrillo is truly gifted.
Wow! Good book! I'm sad the series is over, but i think it all ended well. I wish Favian had showed Elissa how much he really cared for her though >.< but yeah. It was a little confusing, and I think its one of those book you have to read more than once to understand. Anyway, can't wait to read Erica Verrillo's next book. :)
It's always refreshing to read a fantasy, young adult fiction book with a strong female character. The author also keeps the characters consistant and I enjoyed that. The first book is a bit confusing-as if some important information had been left out. Over all it ended up a good series that I enjoyed reading.
This was probably the best book in the series; exciting, fantastical, well-paced, and conclusive, with both shocking and amusing moments throughout. :)
