People fear what they can’t explain. You don’t say. So here’s my question … What happens when you’re the unexplainable?
Running for my life wasn’t high on my list of life goals when I was eleven. No, all I wanted was to play with my friends and learn to braid my hair. But when an entire coven of witches wants you dead for a murder you didn’t commit What else is there to do but run?
To survive, I will transform into the thing they fear most. The one thing I never wanted to be. The bright side of fulfilling their prophecy?
They become the hunted.
I’ll stop at nothing to avenge my parents murder. And put an end to the tyranny of the corrupted.
I am Vengeance. I am Justice. I am the Dragonfly.

Witches and shifters and warrior angels, oh my. Now *that’s* how you hook a reader with a prequel novella!
Dragonfly is a thrilling tale of the paranormal variety, introducing readers to a brand new universe filled with all manner of supernatural ongoings. I can tell we’ve barely scraped the surface here within these pages, but this is where B. Livingstone thrives – giving us the tiniest of succulent morsels just to leave us begging for more. And here I am…shamelessly begging for more.
This book is very much a character driven narrative, where our girl Ember takes center stage ready to kick some ass and take some names. Her parents were taken away from her in the most brutal way when she was a child, and she refuses to let sleeping dogs lie. That’s right, revenge is on the horizon.
Oh, and she’s also a terribly powerful witch with a laundry list of enemies, all fearing a prophecy of eternal darkness. Fun times!
While Ember is the shining star, the supporting cast is nothing to sniff at. Ren, workplace associate and BFF with (steeeamy) benefits definitely piqued my interest. Also…Lorenzo? A man with a penchant for shady rooftop meetings? I really hope this is going to bloom into something truly filthy.
In addition to great characters, we’ve got covens with vendettas, organizations whose sole purpose is to protect the innocent from malevolent supernatural beings, various species with pieces on the chess board, and so much more. I’m very much looking forward to digging deeper with the forthcoming novels.
I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t even read the blurbs for stories by Livingstone anymore, I just crack those babies open. I trust her implicitly to take me on a journey I know I won’t forget, and Dragonfly is no exception. We’re left at a cliffy (as usual *shakes fist*), and I. NEED. MORE.
If PNR is your thing, you need this book in your life. That is all. 🖤
Review: Dragonfly. ( Dragonfly Series ) By: B. Livingstone. Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. ARC Copy.
Oh my gosh! I loved this short novella perequl and I seriously hope we get book 1 soon. Embers story is so phenomenal, I say this alot lol but I really can't put into words how good this book was. If you love a dark reverse haraem paranormal romance then this is the story for you.
B. Livingstone’s most recent novella in her Dragonfly series just told of enough to tease the reader. This story tells of a young child named Ember who was born a witch and the tragedies that befall her. Her main goal in life is vengeance. This novella has plenty of adventure, suspense and mystery so riveting that I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I can’t wait for the next book. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
So good! Ember’s story is such a sad tale, but she’s such a strong FMC. I’m super excited about the first book in the series, and I hope it comes out soon. I flew through this novella, but it captured my heart all the same. If you’re a fan of paranormal, reverse harem/why choose, pick up this book! Ember’s story is only getting started. I love B.’s books and I can’t wait to see where this series takes us!
From the first few pages completely hooked. Can't wait to read what happens next. Ths book give me so many different emotions and feelings Totally love it, eventhough I feel so sorry for Ember and what's she's been through, although I think there so much more ro the story then we know after this one. Would love to read more about how she ended u at athereal and the relationship with Ren. But also what will happen with Lorenzo and the hinter guild.
This is a short novella and it is a teaser for me as I am wanting more for sure. As a young girl she is a witness to something awful only to realize years later they weren't after her parents at all. Now seeking revenge she is given the opportunity but will she take it as it comes with strings? Great writing. Does end on cliffhanger so be aware of that but you'll love it.
This little bite-sized prequel novella will leave you yearning for more of Ember's journey! Her story starts out grim, and her heart hungers for revenge. I really hope Ren follows after her and the new set of people she agrees to work with. I'm looking forward to more of her story, especially seeing who will end up being her guys. 😉
I read this book in the Shrouded Sanctum anthology. I was excited we were getting a bit of an expansion, but it is still a novella. This is Embers' origin story. Ember story is full of pain and betrayal. This book shows a bit of insight. This will by a slow burn and slow building harem. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I originally read this in the Shrouded Sanctum antho and loved it then. The author expanded it just a bit and I love it even still. It's the OG story of Ember and it is one filled with angst and heartache. I can tell this baby is gonna be a slow burn! But im so ready
What a great prequel novella to start a series. The world building and characters are amazing. Ember is fantastic and so strong, I was hooked right from the start and can't wait for more.
Great intro into Ember’s world!!! I can’t wait for more world building and to get to know these characters even more. Read it and get hooked just like I was!
What a great little teaser. I can't wait for the first book this one has left me with so many questions. I think Ember is going to be a fierce character to follow.
This isn’t my typical genre but I really enjoyed it. Ember is going to be a bad b word. This book left me with so many questions. I can’t wait until we get the first book in the series. I’m looking forward to it! Highly recommend! Check TW!
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. This is the prequel novella in the new upcoming series, Dragonfly. This is a dark paranormal romance reverse harem series. This was a great start to a new series and got me hooked and absolutely invested! Ember is a very strong heroine, thriving despite losing her parents right infant of her at the young age of eleven. All of her life she has wanted to bring justice to their deaths. She now is given the opportunity right infant of her to take her vengeance, and I can’t wait to see the bada$$ery that she is about to unleash. I’m already really loving her with Ren and I can not WAIT to meet her other men ! Great start to a new series ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dragonfly is Ember’s story. Now if you read Riley and Grace’s story, you’ll remember Ember.
Ember is going to be an antihero…I’m getting the feels and I’m not disappointed by it. She got a shit hand dealt to her. The coven she grew up in deserved everything and more that happened. Loved it and want more of it!!
