This book was written in 1992 and screams of an older time. I found a very few quotes as I ended up just barely skimming after seeing it's out-datedness.
I usually love Emilie Barnes’s books, for they are filled with thoughtful, gentle advice and great tips, but I found this one to be very short and somewhat lacking in both departments.
It seemed more like a short book filled with musings than concrete, hands-on tips.
OK, but given how many books there are on the topic now (and how many I’ve read), this one didn’t seem particularly outstanding to me, especially given its dated suggestions (black or dark plates make food look good!). I would have returned it given the chance.
Starting with yourself and reaching out to others, Emilie Barnes gives simple ideas on how to keep your home neat, organized and refreshing. I highly recommend this book for a woman at any age.
