IMF has now become a book series where I eagerly await the next part. The third part in the series has ten chapters shedding light on the major ops and events in last few years. The book starts with the face-off at the Galwan Valley in June 2020; and in the second story gives us the detailed account of one of the deadliest air crash in our memory - the helicopter crash in December 2021 in which we lost CDS Bipin Rawat and eleven other persons. The book takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of emotions - anger, loss, pain and pride. Each story is the testament of the grit and determination of India's finest.
It's been a hectic one year, hence, I couldn't get time to read or write anything properly. But nevertheless, I resumed my book reading habit, not at full pace but I am trying.
So, I came across this book named "India's Most Fearless 3". As the name suggests, it's the third book in the series of "India's Most Fearless", a collection of real life stories from the Indian Armed Forces which display courage, valour, brotherhood and patriotism. The stories given in this edition are heart wrenching, they bind the reader completely. You cannot put it down until you have finished reading all the chapters. The way it's written, I am sure it can bring tears to your eyes. Some of the stories are bound to give you goosebumps.
The first chapter in my opinion acts as the first impression of any book. Especially the ones which have a collection of stories. It gives you an idea about what's coming next. The same thing happens with this book, the first chapter is by far the best. It's something that will take you down the memory lane as you must have heard/read about the incident narrated here. It's about the sad demise of CDS Bipin Rawat.
Do read this one if you haven't already. Also, check out the first two in this series.
It was very inspiring. I am really waiting for India's most fearless 4 as I have all the sequels from no.1 to 3. Overall I just couldn't stop reading and this is my first book I completed reading in 2024
The Indian armed forces always stood as an epitome of courage, selflessness, patriotism, and Nation above all philosophy. Each of the heroes whose stories the authors covered in this book series is the best example. These books comprise heroic real-life stories of Indian defensemen from the border. Each story talks about a military operation. The spirit of dedication is seen in the process of Lance Naik Mohan Goswami, who scrambled at short notice to execute an operation. While reading these books and the stories of the men, one will surely stop at so many points to gather their breath. Books leave one breathless at many points through all the stories shared.
Journey through the most dangerous missions of the Indian Armed Forces that true heroes undertook to keep India safe. These books will take you between the gun battles and make you realize what those martyred soldiers and many others go through every day. When we are even afraid of cockroaches & lizards, reading stories of these heroes who go to fierce gun battles and put their life at stake will send chills through your spine. All the stories in this book are narrated in such detail that you feel you are teleported to the scene where the incident occurs.
We need more storytellers like the authors to reach out to its civilians and inform them under what conditions these brave men fight for the Safety, honor, and Welfare of our freedom. They are not fighting a personal war on the LOC, leaving back their families and constantly performing the Act of Valour, come what may be the conditions the Tri-colour holds high enough to let the World know that India is a "Land of Free and the Home of Braves."
Overall, these books are easy to read and well written with all the necessary details, 'India's Most Fearless' is a must-read. These books will make you proud long after you have read them. Hats off to the Nation's proud heroes. I wouldn't call them our soldiers anymore since they are our heroes.
Having read the previous 2 books in the series, as soon as got to know that a new one is coming out soon I immidiately put it in my wish list.
I started reading this book and the thrill and josh you feel while reading this book can not be expressed in words. The stories of courage and bravery are so well narrated that it keeps you on the edge.
The bravery and courage of our soldiers in all the three services is insipiring. One of the things that comes through in all the stories is the uncanny ability of the family members of the soldiers to sense the impending events. This comes in the form of restlessness, irritation without cause etc. Reading all these you wonder if there is something which we do not know some ability to sense danger to our loved ones.
Overall a great book indeed and also as a suggestion to readers you can view the award ceremony of the heroes on YouTube.
"It is here that the most brutal phase of the Galwan clash began. In groups, 400 Indian Army men collided with 1200 Chinese troops in the dark winding stretch beyond Patrol Point 14 on the Chinese side. An Indian advance party had ventured even deeper into the Chinese side to confront them.
It is easy to forget the conditions in which this full-bodied brawl was taking place. While most casualties were cased by direct injury in the fight, weather and altitude were undoubtedly taking their toll. The Galwan Valley is the last place for such devastating energy expenditure.
You're at over 15,000 feet on sub-zero temperatures. The air is thin, the O2 levels are as it is down by 60 per cent, so you have only 40 per cent in your body, hence with grievous injuries, it becomes ever more difficult to survive Forget running or charging, even a brisk 200-metre walk puts you out of breath."
It's not a matter of pride that this book has a third series. I read this book for various reason first and foremost is to give respect to those brave heroes who do so much and still not celebrated. Second is to keep myself humble and grounded. Third is to keep myself updated on emerging threats and security scenario of our country. This is the third in series written by two journalists from two large Media houses.
I read all the books this series has to offer, and I rose in absolute respect for the unparalleled chivalry our soil produces from time immemorial. Bravery, the unexplained surge, oozes out of each page. Their trials, tribulations and sacrifices evokes a strong emotion and inspiration. I am eagerly waiting for a fourth installment.
The story telling is phenomenal which makes you visualize the events with utmost clarity. Every chapter is so thought provoking and emotional, and at the same time fills the heart with pride that we belong to a nation that has such great heroes.
Inspiring..hair raising...heart wrenching.. Long live our bravehearts..long live their memories..🙏 Kudos to the writers. Eagerly waiting for the 4th book in this series.
As usual author describes events very well. Such books should be there in all schools and libraries. Even some abridged stories can be included in text books
