The Shifters and the Celestials have finally met. The worlds will forever be changed. Nine months ago, Riley and her friends opened the doorway to the parallel world that houses the Celestials: Terraria. In that time, Christopher has made his life’s dream a reality, and formed the Kingdom of Astrum. Also in that time, Riley, Tristan, Wyatt, Demetrius, and Allyssa have been trapped in various ways. They must regroup, find a way to free the Celestials from Christopher’s control, and dethrone the dangerous king if they ever want to return home. Meanwhile, on Earth, the Shifters at the Temple search for information about their lost family members, and take dangerous actions in their efforts to get them back—all while dealing with a long overdue trial, and a still warring world. Trouble brews in both worlds, and it will take everything Riley and the others have to set things right in this final installment of the Celestials series.

What a fun series this has been. I love all the different levels of abilities the characters had, and the MC's connection to their Celestials was delightful. Speaking of delightful, I love that this 3rd book had even more romance than the other two, and after a slow build throughout the series, I was definitely ready! Sweet moments, sad moments, exciting moments, this finale had them all. Nicely done!
Holy hell, what an outstanding finale this was. The last book in the Celestials series, Shelby Elizabeth had a lot to live up to after the last book, Stars: Hide Your Fires, and personally, in my opinion?
SHE. ABSOLUTELY. NAILED IT.
There's simply no other words for it; this lived up to all of the hype and, somehow, even MORE. The action scenes were amazingly explosive and dynamic, each move described so eloquently, the energy from each fight is almost palpable! Of course, it could never be complete without a little romance, but how does one make it better? Simple; show that no matter how much romance there is in the world, there will always be moments of pain, which are once again conveyed excellently and, in the case of anger, so viscerally. Loved every second of the emotional scenes in this book, so well done! And need I mention the tension? As to be expected from the last part of the story, it's amazingly high and gripping, but when you throw in the aspect of... well, to keep this spoiler-free, imprisonment? Absolutely sublime!
Naturally, not all books are perfect and there were some areas I had small gripes with, but generally they were very few and far between and hardly affected the overall quality of my experience. This series has earned itself the perfect streak of getting better and better with each installment, and though this series may have come to a close, I cannot wait to see what magical new tales Shelby will come up with next!
Well, I wasn’t planning on blowing through the final book in this series in a few hours but no regrets. It’s a beautiful wrap up and well worth the journey!
I adore the character development here. The characters have evolved so much from their book 1 selves but it’s a natural path and one I was so glad to see reflected on. Seeing how their relationships have grown strong is so sweet to witness.
Love how the world includes politics but not so much that it loses the reader. It’s just enough to add that dash if additional realism. Lovely to see worked in.
I love that family if the characters are involved. I love that there are platonic relationships with just as much weight as romantic. I love our main couple is adorable. I love there is a cute chipmunk.
Loved this series, can’t wait for more from the author in the future!
One thing I have loved throughout this series is the strong family ties. The loyalty between the parents and siblings was fierce and a breath of fresh air. I was a bit thrown in the beginning with the jump in time but quickly caught up and was immediately on the edge of my seat with the precarious situation the Celestials found themselves in. And that Christopher...what a piece of work. Ugh! The stakes were high, and I was seriously terrified that they weren't going to overcome or survive in the end of their adventure!
And how cute was the chipmunk!!!
I'm super glad this was my first Indie read of the new year! Can't wait to read more from S.E.!
Matt has spent months trying to figure out how to open the portal. The Celestial are trying to find their freedom. Shelby Elizabeth has brought us a terrific end to this great series. I found this book and the entire series to be wonderfully imaginative and exciting. I look forward to the authors next book.
