Marriage by Mistake

Rate this book
“Where the hell am I and what is this ring doing on my finger?”

This is NOT the way I thought I’d be waking up after my first night in Vegas.
Naked. Pounding headache. Strange bed.And an even stranger woman lying asleep next to me.
I’ll admit, she’s smokin’ hot though…
I’m supposed to be here to party for my buddy’s engagement.
Not to get married myself…
Something crazy definitely went down last night.
She’s wearing the same gold band I am.
I’m definitely starting to panic now, trying to remember yesterday’s
Trip down on the private jet - check.
Meeting the rest of the bachelor party guys at the hotel - check.
Afternoon drinks - check.
Dinner and drinks.
Blackjack and drinks.
Dancing and drinks.
Shots with a deliciously curvy blonde… and then it’s all a blur.
F.M.L.
I need to get myself out of this mess ASAP.
Judging from the morning so far, last night was full of terrible decisions.
And I’m dreading what other surprises might be in store for me…

OMG
I do not know how or why i finished this, i guess i was curious if and how the writer decided to turn things things around …
1- Maxim tolerable at time.
2- General characters without character at all.
3- Adele is both a total drag and at the same time not enough. Depression such, i known from experience, and as much you get can get better it happens with hard work, perseverance and over time and there will be ups and downs. You dint get over it on one night if shots! “Snap! Out of it now” 🙄
4- Speeches - Cringe!
5- the written alcohol is acceptable i think because it us nit described as something good. And let be honest people drink in Vegas and in Parties. BUT the drugs? She actually describes taking Cocaine as something good??? WFTF? “ coke to sober up” is literally the frase used over and over and over again with not so much as one saying “no” not even once and NONE of them was upset the next day about using drugs, even the Doctor???!?

Just Awful!

Adele and Maxim meeting was fate. The saying “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” was not that case here. Maxim was there for a friend’s bachelor party, while Adele was there with her best friend to help her get over her depression. Adele stopped living when her fiancée died a year earlier suddenly. Coco her best friend brings her to Vegas to have an adventure. Who knew night together would lead to marriage. Although they could not agree to stay married or not, there was a love slow growing. Trust was an issue with Maxim since he was quite successful and was afraid Adele was with him for his money. Adele had to learn to open up and let the love for Maxim blossom. A beautiful story. I cannot wait for more from Jessica. This was a wonderful book, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Jessica was trying to recover from the loss of her fiancé. Her friend Coco (a therapist) convinces her to go to Vegas to get her groove and life back. Maxium sees Jessica and falls for her in a big way. The confusing explanation about what happened when they got married is crazy (cocaine). The characters were all over the place and very confusing. Took too long for Max and Jessica to make up their minds to stay married and try to work things out. Also, her attitude about telling him about the baby was stupid.

I understand books are meant to not be completely realistic, but come on.. this was so unrealistic and cringey. One of the main characters just dropped off after Vegas and you never heard anything about them again.

Don’t ask me why I kept reading this until the end, but I did. So maybe I’d give it 1.5 stars.. Hot mess express from start to finish. No romance once so ever. This book irritated me more than it swooned me, but it was a quick read.

I don’t even know what to say. This was rough. I wanted to stop reading about 15 times but kept thinking there has to be a twist or it has to get better. Spoiler - it didn’t. And whatevs you don’t, don’t listen to it on Apple Books audio. The AI voices are wretched.

Terrible. The characters were awful. Maxim was sometimes tolerable. Adele was completely terrible.

Audiobook: Wasn’t a fan of the reader as it was AI but the story overall was pretty good and kept my attention.
