Make a wish on a shooting star. Cry to the moon like the coyotes do.
There are so many things Sid cannot have, so many things he tells himself he does not need. His job at Farthingdale Ranch is good enough, right? Then along comes Heston, a glamorous and gorgeous top-tier model from New York City who makes Sid want and then want some more.
Heston has come to Wyoming to do a pre-fall photo shoot in the middle of July. It’s hot as hell, his skin is drying up, his hair is breaking off, and he’s got a hangnail. Then along comes Sid, lanky and sweet, and Heston begins to think there’s more to life than modeling.
Jackie North has been writing stories since grade school and spent years absorbing the mainstream romances that she found at her local grocery store. She also wanted to put her English degree to good use and write romance novels, because for years she’s had a never-ending movie of made-up love stories in her head that simply wouldn’t leave her alone.
As fate would have it, she discovered m/m romance and decided that men falling in love with other men was exactly what she wanted to write books about.
She creates characters who are a bit flawed and broken, who find themselves on the edge of society, and maybe a few who are a little bit lost, but who all deserve a happily ever after. (And she makes sure they get it!)
She likes long walks on the beach, the smell of lavender and rainstorms, and enjoys sleeping in on snowy mornings. She is especially fond of pizza and beer and, when time allows, long road trips with soda fountain drinks and rock and roll music. In her heart, there is peace to be found everywhere, but since in the real world this isn’t always true, Jackie writes for love.
Strike a Pose was such a lovely read. The characters were likeable and interesting. Sid's naïve and innocence being a country boy was a perfect foil for Heston's more sophisticated and worldly personality. The connection between them was there from the start and one can feel it come off the pages. Their reluctance to act on their feelings and the pining - it was both painful and beautiful to read.
I loved how the relationship between Sid and Heston developed and grew throughout the story - how they cared for each other and truly saw the other for who they were. The pacing was just right and certain moments just had the perfect mix of softness, joy and melancholy. The angst is minimal and though there were steamy scenes, they happened much later on.
If you're in the mood for a sweet, low-angst romance with a dash of self-discovery and mutual pining then give Strike a Pose a read.
Strike a Pose is Jackie North’s contribution to the Model Love multi-author series. I was so excited to return to the Farthingdale Ranch, I'd really missed those guys, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed!
No one will be surprised if I state that I'm a huge Jackie North fan, and this book has gone into my Top 3 of her books (so far, anyway!). Strike a Pose appealed to me on many levels: the storyline was engaging, the characters enchanting, and the writing style tied together the relaxing vibe of the Ranch with the city's frenetic activity.
Jackie North always has a captivating writing style that engages the reader, and Strike a Pose was no exception. Although the story was written in an (as always) easy-to-read style, the writing had a hazy, lyrical feel to it. While this mood was felt throughout the story, the pacing ensured that it took on a different quality depending on the story's setting.
On the Ranch and while Sid, Heston and the model crew were 'camping', the feeling was relaxed and almost languorous in parts. Yet, in the city, this lyrical writing style, coupled with the faster pacing suiting the city environment, seemed to add to the stress, of not fitting in, that Sid was experiencing. It was as if the frenetic pace of the city, and Sid's discomfort in what he was doing, were at odds with what he was craving: the peaceful and almost somnolent vibe of the Ranch. The result was an almost dreamlike quality to the writing in both settings, giving consistency to the flow but leaving the reader no doubt in which location they were currently immersed.
I am in awe of Jackie North's ability to describe the various landscapes in her stories. In Strike a Pose, there was the added difficulty of two environments opposite to each other, big city and country. Regardless, the descriptions allow the reader to feel the sun on their face and the grass beneath their feet, hear the chuff of the horses, feel the fountain's spray, and experience the rush of people and cars. It takes skill to create imagery that fully immerses the reader into the story's setting, without weighing the narrative down in excessive detail and minutiae. It's a fine line, but Jackie North is always on the right side.
As far as characters go, I loved both Sid and Heston from the beginning. Although I do admit that Heston was my favourite. Both were beautiful souls and fitted in so well with the others on the Ranch. This author always creates characters that stay with you long after you've finished the book, and it was so easy to want to see Heston and Sid get their happy ending. It was also wonderful seeing all the cameos of the boys we've come to know and love on the Ranch.
If you haven't read Jackie's Farthingdale Ranch series (or any of her other books), Strike a Pose is an excellent place to start. It's not essential to have any in-depth background information on all the events on the Ranch that happened before this story. If you do, you'll enjoy the cameos and have a deeper understanding and appreciation, but not knowing takes nothing from the enjoyment of this book.
Strike a Pose is a beautiful story that will tug on the heartstrings but ultimately leave you smiling like a goof and with a warm fuzzy feeling. If you enjoy a well-written duck out of water type story with characters that you may instantly fall in love with, then I suggest you run, don't walk to grab a copy!
4.5 Stars The Model Love books have been such a pleasure to read. Strike a Pose had me incredibly emotional because Sid is just so incredibly worthy of good things. He works hard, saving as much money as possible for his sister’s education, putting himself and his needs last. He comes across as not very smart but feels things deeply and tends to speak his mind. He is mocked by some of his coworkers because people are jerks.
When 3 models, a photographer and stylist descend on the ranch where Sid works, he catches the eye of Heston, one of the models. The photographer gets a few shots of Sid, considering him scenery as well as handsome. The same evening as the photoshoot they all go to the local watering hole, where Sid gets up the nerve to tell Heston how good-looking he thinks he is, shocking Heston with his directness. Sid doesn’t say things he doesn’t mean, nor does he expect anything in return. Sid is just Sid, no more, no less.
When the fabulous people leave to go back to NYC, Sid thinks that’s it. He isn’t expecting for Marcus McKay himself to request Sid’s presence to redo the Wyoming shoot, but in NYC! Sid isn’t sure about it, but hearing about the money that he’ll be paid and knowing how far it can take his sister for school, he agrees. Heston, hearing that Sid is coming, questions why he’s so excited to see him again. He’s just gotten out of a relationship with a man who was using him and namedropping him to further his own career. Sid arrives in NYC feeling like a fish out of water and Heston can’t help but want to help him settle in. He and Sid are doing the shoot together and sparks fly.
When an attack leaves Heston scarred, scared and unsure about his future in front of the camera, he goes to Wyoming to stay with Sid for awhile. If Heston’s looks can be restored, he can return home and continue modelling, but if it doesn’t, what can he do? He’ll have no reason to be in New York, but what else can he do? Can Sid stand up and ask for something for himself? Will Heston and Sid find a way to be together?
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and, as always, my review is unpaid and honest. Strike a Pose Jackie North
Sid is a ranch hand at Farthingdale Ranch. He works hard, earning as much as he can so that he can help his sister pay for college. He wants her to be able to become the meteorologist she dreams of becoming and is willing to put his own dreams aside to help her achieve hers first.
During a photo shot at the ranch for a fall menswear line, he locks gazes with Heston, a top-tier model and a man who is so beautiful, Sid’s heart hurts a little. When a less than successful result means the whole shoot needs to be redone, and some errant photos of Sid are observed in the mix, the agency Heston works for offers Sid a short-term contract for enough money to pay for his sister’s first two years of community college.
This book is everything I love in a Jackie North story. Her characters are vivid, with such depth that it feels like she holds them gently in her hands while they whisper their stories into her ear and she is just the vessel they are using to tell their own stories. Her ability to set the tone and describe her scenes in such a way that you feel as though you are, in fact, in the book, in the scene, enjoying s’mores around the fire or walking by the river at the ranch.
So many novels follow a formula of attraction, sex, crisis, angst, happy-ever-after. In this book, Sid and Heston share conversation and experiences, they get to know each other, they think deep and important thoughts and they come together in a HEA that is hard-fought and well-deserved. It is a slow, sweet, low-angst journey that is lovingly written and handed to the reader to savor and enjoy.

It was a pleasant surprise to go back to Farthingdale Ranch in Wyoming for a while. That was such a great series, so it was nice to check in with the MCs again. Sid is a young employee at the ranch who does the grunt work, but dreams of a day he might own his own small ranch. In the meantime, he's pledged to help his younger sister make it to college to become a meteorologist.
One day, he's surprised to learn that a modeling agency is doing a photo shoot at the ranch. He meets one of the top-tier models, Heston, to whom he blurts out that he is the most beautiful man he's ever seen. Heston is flattered, but also drawn to Sid, who is more open and honest than anyone he's ever met. They part ways, but Heston's agency likes some candid shots taken of Sid and invites him to NYC for two weeks for a special shoot. Heston and Sid will get to spend time together to explore their attraction, but will it be enough to change the course of their lives when they live so far apart?
This book is almost too slow burn, but very satisfying when Sid and Heston finally connect. The contrast between time spent in NYC and Wyoming is interesting. The mention of various previous MCs and side characters at the ranch is just the right amount to ground the story while keeping it focused on the current story. This warm-hearted story is has the support of good friends and a true romance with lots of love.
I love it when an author brings an established world in to their story in a multi-author world, especially if it's one like the Farthingdale Ranch series that I've followed from the very beginning... Jackie North takes a very sweet and wonderful boy Sid and gives him the chance to do more than model, she gives him the chance to get to know a man who attracted his attention from the start, Heston. I liked that Heston was down to earth and open to what Sid brought to the table, and also willing to help him be the best Sid he could be... and then Sid had the opportunity to do the same.
This book has everything you'd expect - opposites attract, city/country, an ex-boyfriend bordering on stalker, model behaviour, an only one bed situation and so much more! Whether you read it standalone, as part of the Model Love series or as part of the Farthingdale Ranch series, you'll find great characters, an amazing storyline, plot twists and a satisfying HEA.
Farthingdale Ranch is a beautifully built world unto itself, and each book the author sets there makes me like it that much more. The romance in this story belongs to Sid, and earnest ranch hand, and Heston, the beautiful, slightly jaded model. Their dynamic mixes sweetness and steam, and as the chemistry builds there’s plenty of time to see the emotional connection grow and deepen as well. I liked both of them immensely. The minimal angst in what develops between Sid and Heston, as well as the chance to see each of them in their “element”— ranch and city— makes their story feel both immersive and comfortable: it’s easy to want the best for these two, and to see what they bring out in and to each other. 4.5 stars.

STRIKE A POSE is one of the stories in the multi-author series, Model Love, and we return to Farthingdale Ranch. Sid is one of the ranch hands, working to help pay for his sister to attend college. Heston is one of the models used for a Western photography session. Sid helps Heston wear his cowboy hat correctly and gets snapped in a couple of photos. When the photos turn out to be too poor to use, the owner spots Sid and wants him as a model - for just two weeks. This would help pay for two years of college so, of course, Sid says yes.
Oh, man. This story! It really was a case of opposites attract. Sid was the naïve innocent from the country, and Heston was the worldly-wise (or is that -weary?) one to show him the ropes. The connection between the two was there from the get-go but neither of them acted on it for the longest time. Or at least, that's how it felt! Those kisses in the rain though! Phew, there was steam coming off my Kindle. I loved seeing their relationship grow and develop into something worth keeping. The circumstances around that were sad, but I'm glad it happened (in a way) as I was worried about how they would stay together.
A fantastic return to Farthingdale Ranch and all the people who live there. I'm so glad that Sid got his story. And he's not Loud-Mouth Sid at all! Grrr!!!!! A city-country story with all the emotions, and highly recommended by me. ** same worded review will appear elsewhere **

This series is very interesting as there are a lot of model stories from different authors and it is quite interesting to see how that works out.
this one had an interesting set-up and I was very interested in seeing how that would work out.
Sid and Heston were both sweethearts and I really enjoyed that their jorney. but I had some troubles with the pacing: I thought the first part was a bit too long - I loved some of the scenes in New York, when they are shooting together. but it just took too long, till they finally are together. that just did not work vor me.
the ending was ... a possible solution, not perfect but it was ok. what I found a bit to quick was how they found the solution and were sure that they wanted to stay together.
nevertheless, a nice read
an ARC was provided by GRR and I am happy to give my honest opinion
This is my second book by this author (First one was "The Cowboy and the Dealer " which I really enjoyed) and I am a bit disappointed to say it wasn't really doing anything for me. It looked like it was love at first sight for Sid. I usually hate Insta love and with a model? please, could it be any more obvious??? It kind of felt like Sid was a kid out of place, like there was no connection rather than the physical one, didn't feel like their lives could be joined since they both liked the way they were living before they have met so the ending felt forced and I didn't feel the love.
Strike a Pose is a part of the multi author series bringing readers into the world of McKay Modelling. Jackie James has managed to incorporate hers with her much loved Farthingdale Ranch series. Sid is a ranch hand who works hard for what he has in life, hoping to help his sister on her way to college. Very different from the life that Heston leads as a model with McKays. However, that doesn't stop the spark of attraction for these two very different men even though nothing can come of it from leading such different lives. Sid gets a taste of Heston's world with an invite to New York and he is so adorably innocent that it's a joy to read his experience. It's not that he's simple, just that his way of life is so far apart from those who live and work in New York that he stands apart. To Heston, he's like a breath of fresh air who he can't help but feel attached to. From the start I could feel Sid's attraction to Heston, while Heston's took a little longer to kick in. I thought he was more attracted to the kind of man that Sid is and what he live for. As they get to spend more time together, there is a lot of building up of tension between them, especially when they are in a photo shoot together, which can get them and others hot under the collar. It's a slow burn romance with a pretty low angst story until a dose of drama comes towards the end that has someone thinking about their future. I loved how Jackie described each of the settings, so far apart from each other. Each has it's benefits and drawbacks but there's nothing like the peace and tranquility that somewhere like Farthingdale can give someone. Sign me up for a visit there! There are some great characters that add to the story. Several of the modelling crew bring some entertainment and snark, whilst Sid's sister is a big support to him and also his reason for taking part in the whole modelling gig. I wasn't a fan of how some of the other hands were laughing at him in the beginning but he definitely has the last word in this romance. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
What a wonderful “return” to Farthingdale Ranch!!!! If you haven’t read the “Farthingdale Ranch” series, it is a must!!! One of the best series IMHO! Although the series has ended, the author has written a story in the “Model Love” series which brings us back to Farthingdale Ranch. I have so much respect for Jackie North’s stories! This one did not disappoint me at all! I was beyond thrilled when reading it because I have fond memories of the minor characters in this one who were Major in their books! the plot was so endearing that I shed tears in couple different scenes because of the “love” between the MCs even when they do not realize it. It was simply wonderful!!! More than 5 stars!!!!!
The story focuses on Heston, a model who was location at the Farthingdale Ranch from New York City for a photo shoot. He was supposed to pose as a cowboy but it was obvious he had no inkling what it takes to be one. He was taught how to wear a cowboy hat properly when one of the ranch hands were there in the barn since the models monopolized the space when he was supposed to be cleaning a stall. That ranch hand was Sid who was unaware that the photographer had taken some photos of him while he was supposed to be taking photos of the models posing. That caught the eye of the bigwig of the modeling agency he owns. He had Sid fly out for two weeks to take some photos since he was not satisfied with how the photos turned out at the ranch. Sid took the opportunity since he was working hard to earn money so his baby sister could go to college. He was offered a lot of money for that stint. It was obvious that he was clueless on how to be a model. Heston was there to save Sid’s hide! I’m going to go ahead and stop right there and strongly encourage you to pick up the book and read to find out what happens!
I received an ARC copy of Strike a Pose (Model Love Book 1)
It was so great to be able to revisit Farthingdale Ranch again primarily through the eyes of Sid, the new ranch hand and Heston, a model from New York. Sid has a reputation for speaking what's on his mind and with the aid of some liquid courage, he made sure he told Heston that he was the most beautiful man he has ever seen. Being told he was beautiful was something Heston has heard all his life but it wasn't just the way Sid spoke those words but the truth Heston saw in this sweet cowboy.
Sid's sole purpose was to work hard to make enough money to send his sister to college. Meeting Heston was a dream and a dream he knew would never happen but knowing he was able to speak his mind was enough for him to move on with his life. Heston returned home but never stopped thinking about the sweet cowboy and a second chance came in a form of having Sid come to New York for two weeks of modeling. For Heston, it was a chance to be with Sid again and for Sid a $10,000 answer for sending his sister to college. A win-win situation.
I enjoyed reading Sid and Heston's love story bloom. Heston lets Sid into his life when he needed him most and Sid reaches for the dream that he could have a life with Heston. I'm looking forward to more Model Love series!
I really enjoyed this opposites attract book. Syd is a new hand at the Farthingale Ranch who dreams of helping his sister go to college and of someday having a small ranch of his own. He meets Heston a top tier New York model when Heston comes with a group to do a shoot for High end Western wear. Syd is immediately struck byHeston's beauty and Heston likes how Syd is so sweet and open. When they return to New York, the head of the agency feels that the pictures are all wrong except for a few where Syd is in them. They offer Syd ten thousand dollars to come to New York for 2 weeks and help model the western wear. He accepts to help his sister pay for college and to see Heston again. Once he arrives, Syd realizes how out of water he is in the big city. Heston helps him with his shoots and navigating the city and the two eventually become lovers. However, they live on opposite sides of the country and live 2 very different lives. However, after a horrible incident, Heston returns to Wyoming with Syd. Will he stay in Wyoming or eventually try to resume his modeling career in New York. This was a really sweet book with 2 very likable MC's with a mixture of McKay Modeling and Farthingale ranch.
I was absolutely stunned about how much I loved this book. I devoured it in one sitting, and will likely read it again. Jackie has this unbelievable talent to make you feel like you’re in the scene, that you know the characters and, with this book having so many characters in many different locations, her talent really shined.
Both main characters were complex but, at the same time, realistically simple. Sid with his almost innocent need to enable his younger sister to get away from home to college, yet dreams of a bigger life; Heston, with his high profile, empty lifestyle, who really just wants stability and home. The attention to detail in the jobs, both at the ranch and in the modeling world, was perfect and I appreciated we got a small glimpse at the less than glamorous reality of modeling. It almost made cleaning box stalls sound more fun, at times!
The romance isn’t easy, and it takes an unpleasant situation to push it forward, but the pining between the two characters is beautiful and all-encompassing.
Farthingdale Ranch and the related series will always be some of my go-to series, and this book was the perfect homage to everything Farthingdale related.
Strike a Pose is part of the multi-author Model Love series and each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. I loved everything about this book. The Farthingdale Ranch series is one of my favorites and it was wonderful to get to visit the ranch and see everyone again. Country boy, Sid, meets city boy, Heston. Heston, a model, finds himself at the ranch doing a photoshoot. But it's some candid shots of Sid, a ranch hand, that Sid finds himself in New York being a model for two weeks. I love that Sid wants to help his sister and the money from the shoot will help in a big way. They seem very supportive of each other. I loved watching Sid and Heston as they got to know each other some in NY. They have wonderful chemistry and I kept trying to picture what Nick, the photographer, was seeing through his lens as he photographed Sid and Heston together. I was hoping Sid and Heston would find a way to be together. They are so sweet together and their future is just beginning. I definitely recommend this book and series. Each book is a treat. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
I always appreciate the chance to spend some time at Farthingdale Ranch. And what a great idea, to bring the high fashion world to the ranch for a western photo shoot, a clever blending of worlds. I really enjoyed Sid and Heston’s slow burn romance, I loved the pace and the time they spend getting to know each other. Sid was very sweet right from the start. He’s is working at Farthingdale to save money to send his sister to college, when he meets visiting model Heston. I liked Heston’s character a lot, he was a bit aloof at first but I loved getting to learn his personality as the story unfolds. Sid’s time in NYC working for McKay models was a great idea, there was some fun fish out of water moments. We also start seeing the toll the demands of modeling is taking on Heston, the author did a nice job exploring these challenges. Wonderful writing, great couple, lovely happy ending.

First step out of the bubble can be breathtaking. Sid, has learned to be grateful for everything he has and basically to settle. He was content working at Farthingdale Ranch. He would like to see and do many things, but he put his responsibility first. He was helping put his sister, Sara through school. Sid's one fault, is he has no filter. He speaks before he thinks and sometimes creates awkwardness. Heston is a model who is modest and down to earth. He also bonded a bit with Sid while they had a shoot at the ranch. A glitch during the photo array review, has McKay ordering they get Sid up to shoot a new spread. Heston and Sid, get to know each other in the city. Nice story flow. Sid and Heston make a complementary couple. Sid, gets his travelling. Does Sid like NYC? Does Sid like modeling? How will Sid and Heston resolve their geography challenge? Good story, great supporting characters. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I've liked all of the Model Love series so far, and this book was no different. But I wouldn't go as far as to say that I loved this one the way that I have the other books in the series. While it was good, it didn't hit the way the others did - and I'm very positive that its a personal thing and nothing about the book.
Because the book itself was good. Sid and Heston were both interesting characters. It was fun to see the McKay Modeling Agency on the other side of the pond as the first three books I've read were set in the London offices. The naive cowboy with the worldly model was a trope I haven't experienced much. The slow burn was delicious as was the pining.
I honestly wish I could say what didn't quite work for me.
** DISCLAIMER: I recieved an advanced copy of this book from GRR and this is my fair and honest review. **
I am a huge fan of Jackie North's books and I love all her Farthingdale Ranch books. Well, I also love cowboys so how could I not read this story? Yep, I just couldn't resist :)
I never thought that it was possible to neatly combine the world of modeling, a famous rich model from a big city and a boy from a small town. Oh, boy ... What a surprise!
I loved Sid, his honesty, his tendency to say everything he thinks and, above all, his kindness. I also fell in love with Heston, from the beginning I felt that this supposedly ice cold top-tier model was lonely and lost. This story is exactly what I needed, a friends-to-lovers book full of stealthy glances, lust and many - more or less - happy coincidences. It's beautifully written, emotional and made me cry happy tears in the end :)
* I was gifted an ARC copy and this is my honest review *
Sid and Heston was a story about second chances at love, daring to dream and about wishes that come true. It was interesting to see how their different worlds entwine, how two different people can find happiness and how an extremely jealous ex can bring them closer to their future. I liked the way Heston helps and mentors Sid in his short career of modelling, how beautifully they connect and fall in love. I liked the support Sid offers Heston when he's injured and how he helps him recuperate, as well as how well Heston seems to integrate in Sid entourage. It was a sweet story, with a dose of emotion and a lot of self-doubt and self discovery while they learn new things about themselves and to dare to take and admit what makes them happy.
Both Sid and Heston recognized the tantalizing link shared at their first meeting at Farthingdale Ranch but when Heston returns to NYC and Sid is sent there their feelings intensify as protectiveness of each other is manifested. The physical attack on Heston reveals this protectiveness as Sid removes Heath from NYC and brings him back to Wyoming and the welcoming and accepting circle of these loving cowboys, secondary characters from previous books make their presence felt. Ms. North has created a perfect pairing with Sid and Heston in this, the first book in the Model Love series. But this is also a great addition to the Farthingdale Ranch series. This is my voluntary review for the complementary book I got.
I found this to be a really sweet, opposites attract read and I loved it. This is part of the Model Love multi-author series and I had never visited Farthingdale Ranch before (there is no need to have done so to enjoy this book) but I am now metaphorically on the first plane to Wyoming to correct that mistake. Sid and Heston’s story, just like Sid and Heston themselves, was so sweet and lovely, I was plotting in my head for ways to keep them together and although how it happened was a shock, it provided us with a satisfactory conclusion. The book was so well written and the characters real and developed. I can’t wait for my plane to land in Cheyenne so one of the hands can pick me up in the truck.
This was such a sweet and heartwarming story! Sid was the most special cowboy running the ranch and providing for his sister. He had dreams he was just sure exactly what they were or what to do about them! Heston meets Sid on his ranch and how could he resist this sweet cowboy? When Heston gets back to the city, he misses his cowboy and makes him an offer he cannot refuse because of course Sid will do anything to help the ones he cares about! I absolutely love that we got to see of these guys in their own environments and the other guy in that environment with them! You will have to read yourself to find out where these to end up together! This is a very wholesome kind of read, pretty much fade to black other than sweet kisses for readers who prefer less spice on page.
I must say that this book stands out from the other Model Love series ones I have read so far, bot for the length and for the atmosphere. While the other ones I read tended to be shorter and on the lighter, funny side, this one is a bit longer and has the slow-paced, gentle sombreness that I associate with Jackie North’s writing. I adored Sid and Heston’s story, the longing, the moments of hopelessness alternating the ones of hope and pure want. The setting switches between the fast-paced frenzy of the New York modelling scene and the wide, open expanse of the Farthingdale Ranch in Wyoming, and the contrast is so stark it’s almost jarring, and in a way it represents so well the divide between Heston’s and Sid’s words and way of life.
A sweet story that warmed my heart and reminded me love comes from all places and when we least expect it. I love a great opposites book, but especially one about a cowboy and cityboy who have awesome chemistry. It read like an old fashioned loved story was we get to see both me in their own comfortable environment, then both men in the others environment where they are like a fish out of water. Throw in the jealous ex and you have a great read. This book reminded me that when finding true love, you can make the seemingly impossible become possible and find your HEA. I have not read any other books in this series but will after reading this one. i did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
I've got to say, I am absolutely loving this collaboration series. Every book that I have read so far has been great, this one even greater than the ones before.
I adored this couple, they were a classic case of opposites attract with a low angst, mutual pining and incredible chemistry. The relationship build was a bit of a slower burn but that made them getting together that much more special ❤️ I would most certainly recommend this read, especially for series readers......This one is a must, it's so endearing.
If you love country meets city, self discovery and kisses in the rain (❤️swoon❤️) then you'll adore this as much as I did.
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I love Jackie North’s Farthingdale Ranch series. I also love multi-author series like this Model Love series. When I realized that this author’s contribution to the set was going to involve her cowboys, I just knew I had to read it. This is really a case of country mouse and city mouse. I loved it! Sid and Heston couldn’t be from more different worlds but they fit together so perfectly. I really enjoyed these characters and couldn’t put the book down. Sid is so earnest and honest and Heston, while he loves his work, is starting to question what comes next. This was just a sweet feel good low angst story and I couldn’t get enough of it.
I love the Farthingdale Ranch series and was so happy to learn we are back for the first book of the Model Love series. Sid is a new hire and has been working at the ranch for 6 months. Heston is a model who came to the ranch with two other models for a menswear clothing line magazine. They meet when Sid shows Heston how to wear a cowboy hat. They all went out for drinks but Heston was leaving to go back to New York. Sid’s picture was taken as well. When the pictures didn’t turn out, Sid was called to New York for two weeks. What follows is a slow burn romance, great chemistry between the MCs. Loved it and highly recommend.
