Half-star ratings would surely have made this 4.5!

Ken Fite continues to impress with a political thriller that hooks the reader in the early chapters. I discovered Fite by accident earlier this week and was blown away by his writing, which made reading the entire Blake Jordan series a must. Having decided to isolate himself from those closest to him, Blake Jordan is all but off the radar. However, a series of cyberattacks that come in the form of ransomware has Jordan making his way to the Washington Field Office for the Department of Domestic Counterterrorism (DDC), his former place of work. Awkwardly facing his former partner and love interest, Agent Jami Davis, Jordan tries to prove that he can help, having many of the skills to track down these hackers. When a bomb blast rocks the Field Office, Jordan is fingered as a potential suspect, though his contacts within the intelligence community soon prove that to be a false lead. It would appear someone is trying to target him, as he is tied to many of the events taking place across Washington and back in his native Chicago. When a New York Times reporter begins digging around and making some strong allegations, Jordan goes to his boss, President Keller, to diffuse the situation. It is then that he learns that he’s been deceived and that a high-ranking terror suspect, presumed dead in an attack from months ago, is actually still alive and being held covertly. It is then that the pieces begin to fall into place, Jordan’s being targeted by the Russians for his actions six months earlier and nothing but the return of the prisoner will end the ongoing attacks. There appears to be a mole within the Administration or the Intelligence community, feeding both the media and these Russian terrorists key pieces of information that could vilify Jordan and even end President Keller’s career prematurely. With Jordan on the run and Agent Davis trying to help, it will take nothing short of all they have to bring down the Russian cell and discover the mole. The president’s future depends on Jordan’s abilities, but sometimes the present is more important than what is to come! Fite does a masterful job yet again pulling together this novel and offers up a wonderful cliffhanger on which series fans can ponder. Easily read as a standalone—as is said in dust jacket blurbs, though I am beginning to doubt this assumption—but a wonderful complement to the previous novels in the series, should the reader wish to embark on a larger adventure. Highly recommended to those who love a good thriller, particularly the reader who has read the previous three books.

Ken Fite has an intensity to his writing that I have not seen in years! His mix of thrill writing and knowledge of the inner workings of American politics makes for the perfect recipe to appease those who enjoy political thrillers. Fite’s ongoing exploration of Blake Jordan provides the reader with something on which to latch, even without further backstory revelations. Blake Jordan may have isolated himself from others after feeling he is ‘cursed’, but his drive to solve those missions before him proves to be his greatest asset. While his amorphous position within the Administration could cause blowback, Jordan handles it with ease. Jordan and Agent Jami Davis pair up nicely, even though their strain has led to an ongoing theme in the novels. Their professional work is second to none, getting to the core of yet another terror threat. The other characters who grace the pages of the novel are a mix of returning vets and new faces, all of whom add flavour to the plot. Fite writes in such a way that each story can stand on its own, though I am beginning to doubt the ‘standalone’ theory that is peddled on the dust jacket. By this, the fourth novel, there are too many threads that connect the series to be able to recommend anyone dive into the middle of the series and try to find their way. I can only suggest that the new reader stop, take a breath, and begin with the first novel, which reads as smoothly as the others. Thereafter, all the side comments will make much sense. The pace of the novel helps make it stand out and will surely grab the reader’s attention from the outset, particularly with short chapters that use well-placed cliffhangers to propel the reader to ‘try a little more before stopping’. I’ve binge-read the series in four days, which speaks to how easily they can be tackled, should time permit!

Kudos, Mr. Fite, for a great series that has not lost its momentum. Now, the crash, as I wait for the fifth book to be published!

Another good thriller.

Story started with malware started to attack hospitals, made equipment malfunction. Russian ships in international waters, just 30 miles off the coast. Story picks up where the third book ended, Russians here for revenge. Superman Blake Jordan even when he is injured again and again has to protect his loved ones and the president. Incredible escapes, gun fights. Did liked the ending.

Power

This is an excellent addition to the Blake Jordan series. Former SEAL Blake Jordan is still the outsider running an off the books counterterrorism unit for President Keller. Six months earlier, he and Jami took down a terrorist on US soil, one who told Blake before he died that they would keep coming for him. To protect Jami, he broke things off and walked away. Since then he has avoided contact with her, but that changes when a ransomware virus is released into hospital systems in Chicago, spreading from there. Then a bomb goes off across the street from the FBI, but things aren't adding up. Blake once again is bucking hard against agencies who seem to be working against him. But this time, Blake has nothing left to loose, or does he?
This story is filled with tension and suspense, making it very difficult to put down. It's one I highly recommend.

Another great Blake Jordan story. This is the type of book that I both love and hate. I love it when I am so engrossed in a story that I tell myself I'm just going to read one (or two or three) more chapters before I set the book down for the night. I hate it that I'm so engrossed in the story that I lose sleep - but then sleep is overrated. The action is non-stop and I had fun trying to figure out where the story was going next and who the plant in the government was. There were some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I can't wait for the next book.

Rules of Engagement

Ken Fire with his Blake Jordan Series could never get anything but five stars. Those books are so good. Never a dull moment. You connect and breathe with the characters. Especially Blake., who is scary good at what he does yet fallible like every other human being. Even though there were some very surprising twists that took place I'm proud to call Blake Jordan an American for one last time. Sorry for the cliffhanger, you'll just have to read the book. It will be worth it.

Suspense, Twists and Turns

Once again, Ken Fire grabs the readers attention at the beginning of the book and keeps the tension ratcheted up until the last page. I usually believe I can scope out the direction the plot is moving in. Not this time! The twists and turns had me thoroughly outfoxed and not able to read fast enough to see what was happening at the next turn of the page.
I really want to see what happens to Blake and Jamie, so get the next book done, Ken.

NEW HERO JORDAN

Move over other thriller authors, KEN Fite is by far the best. I couldn't put the book down. It was the best book that I ever read. It had me from the first page. Blake Jordon was the hero as he was in the other 3 books. Exciting story with a plot that surprised me. I never knew who the good guys were. The ending surprised me. I want to read more about Blake. Thank you Ken for being such a excellent author.

A great read - one you can't put down for long!

I've read all 4 of the Blake Jordan series now ... and anxiously await the next book in the series!
I've watched from the sidelines as Blake developed and matured. I've read ... hardly able to finish a page so I can get to the next one ... as he got himself out of numerous scrapes.
I can't urge you enough to read this series. You'll be anxiously awaiting the release of the next book, too!

Action packed

Full of suspense and action. The poor guy is only trying to do his job, and ends up in such messes., because of his past. The Russians after him are ruthless. Can't wait to see what is in store for Blake and Jamie next. This was a fast read because of all that is going on, and you hardly want to put it down.

Good, but....

This was a good book but not as good as the previous ones. The plot dragged in spots with over explaining things. There was some overdoing of injuries. Good story, just a little draggy. Still recommend it. This is my opinion and like belly buttons, everyone has one.

Blake and Jamie are no longer together for Jamie's safety. But now that there are more terrorists threats they are forced to work together. Blake is right in the middle of these threats and he is still trying to protect Jamie. The son of the last terrorist Blake thought he had killed is behind the current threat but he has help from someone inside.

Great Read

Believe Book 4 has been my favorite of the series so far. It’s compelling and keeps you looking forward to the time you can sit down and read more. I’ve downloaded the next book and can’t wait to start reading. I’ll recommend it to my Daughter-in-law. I think it may be her cup of tea.

Much better than the third book. I like this series since it’s super fast paced and easy to read, takes me about 2-3 hours to read the entire book. Writing style is still just okay, not overly complicated which helps make it a fast read. The twists and turns in this thriller were the most exciting of the entire series. Docking a star for the most stereotypical ending ever 😬.

Yippee-another good Ken Fite bk

Every1 needs a Blake Jordan to have their back when the shit hits the fan.
He had to give up Jami to save her life. When the threat becomes real he has to not only fight the villains but the jilted lover that he still madly loves. There’s a mole and a news article that not only can destroy the President and Blake but the country as a whole.

Exciting book. Love Blake and Jamie.

The storyline was somewhat confusing, especially the Meg Taylor and the newspaper article. The other characters are interesting. I would like to see more of Chris Reed.

Really Good

Liked this one the best in what has been a highly
entertaining series. Things were subtle and not
terribly original but the authenticity of the main
characters, Blake and Jami, carried the oldest
plot in fiction. You'll have to read this one to find
out! 5 stars!

Top drawer read

Mr, Fire has provided an excellent story and given us believable characters. People jump off the page, no great embroidery to make plot believable. Twists and turns keep you guessing until a very.believable end.

I could not stop reading this book!

I loved this book, but at the same time would get frustrated with Blake for being stubborn! It does make you wonder if our government is really this corrupt. It does give a person something to think about and pay more attention to.
