4.5 stars (5/10 hearts). This was a hilarious book. I laughed aloud many times and almost laughed myself sick over the insurance excuses!!! I don’t remember any objectionable content (maybe a couple mentions of drinking) which was really nice!
That's weird the books. There are 7 stories are whose arrested: dumb or alive, ,sports hall of shame, wheel of misfortune, gollywood goofs, wild (and wacky) kingdom sad & tired, and bad for business are seems to be arrested and make their mistaken and death, etc.
If you like funny acts about stupid people who did stupid acts, this is your book. This Nonfiction book is called Worlds Dumbest Crooks by Allan Zullo. This book was published in 1198. My opinion of this book is good. Its easy to read and follow. Really interesting. There are no main characters in this book. The main conflict is people getting arrested for ridiculous acts. The setting is all different because they are all different people. The main plot line is people getting arrested for crazy actions. Some text evidence is some guy went to court for stealing hogs, at the end he says, "does this mean I can keep the hogs?" This story is very believable because its nonfiction. I rate this book a 3 and would recommend it for kids.
A wonderful book for anyone who loves shows like America’s Funniest Home Videos. It’s like reading an episode of AFHV. There were times I giggled out loud and other times I flinched thinking “well that must have hurt” as I often feel when watching AFHV, unsure if it’s enjoyable reading about people getting hurt or stuck. My favorite chapters were the first which was on dumb criminals, and the fifth on animals. The rest were good as well but these two had the most entertaining stories.
Fun read. I needed something small and fun to distract from post surgery pain. The only drawback was several spots made me laugh which hurt! The section on animal criminals was a rare treat for this kind of book. Written for pre teens it still has appeal for adults that just want tidbits of distraction.
Easy enough to read in one sitting, this is aimed at kids and they may like it well enough. The beginning section, about the blunders made by burglars is the most successful section. After that is mostly hit and miss, with more misses than hits.
Some of these had me chuckling out loud looking like a lunatic, as I was reading this whilst in hospital (may I suggest NOT reading this with stitches). Certainly gave me the laugh I needed.
This book is Hilarious. With that being said, I do with there was more criminals in the book. (Hence book #2) With it being only being a small section about crooks the rest isn't bad. There's everything from Business, Animals, Sports legends, to Celebrities, and Medical issues. This book while being timeless carelessness it is slowly becoming dated. Due to the book release and that a lot of records are from 1993-96. But it does go back to at least the 1960s. I found it enjoyable and good for a few good laughs. Surprisingly enough not all of them are lighthearted and does have a couple serious stories in there.
After reading Allan Zullo's "Bad Pets" book, I decided to check out what other books he had. I found this one, got it from the library, and read it. I liked it. Some of stories were really fun and it's hard to believe how stupid people can be. One of my favorite stories in this book was about 2 people who were bored one night, so they decided to drive around town. And they HAPPENED to have a quarter of a stick of dynamite in their car...(now who carries dynamite in their car!?!)...and they were wondering what would happen if they lit it and threw it out the window...duh, it's going to blow up!... So, dumb as they were, they lit it and threw...but they forgot to roll down the window! The car blew up, but they survived with minor injuries.
Written for kids, this Scholastic book is mildly interesting but not so well written as it could have been. About the most interesting thing about it is that it has American standard weights and measurements converted into metric, dating itself to that time we were thinking about changing our system. Actually it has both American measurements and then right next to the yards or feet (for instance), the equivalent meters in parentheses. Wouldn't hurt to see that done more often, even though we have abandoned the official effort to join the rest of the world. The book needs to be updated and redone by a better writer, about sums up my opinion of it (outside the measurement issue.)
For those who like "News of the Weird," here is a kid-size, kid-friendly collection of weird news items where people get embarrassed more than hurt. Here are athletes who score own goals, preposterous puns formed by misspeaking in public, least competent criminals, epic fails of all kinds, and a reassuring message that many of the people embarrassed in these stories not only go on to lead productive lives, but have successful careers.
I liked these books. I like Allan Zullo and I really like the stories in these books. I think all younger kids (Upper elementary, early middle school) These books are quick reads and quite intresting. (Even if the stories are exagerrated.) So if you like short stoires read these books.
Read this before, but read again because my little guy was reading it. It always amazes me how stupid people are. What happen to common sense? Book is a good laugh, unfortunately at other people's expense.
Ha ha ha ha, no seriously....This book was funny. These crooks are really dumb. I was cracking up. If you are looking for a good laugh...then, read this book.. IT IS HILARIOUS!! :) :)
