An aging Laird. A land in turmoil. A ruler desperate for an heir.
Living is fear her entire life, Fiona has been at the mercy of her abusive father and rotten brothers. When her father sells her to the Laird of Leith to be his new bride, however unsettling, she wants to believe anything would be better than home. Yet, though the Laird sought a young bride, he had no intention of being a husband. Nothing could've prepared Fiona for the arrangement her husband would suggest.
An arrangement that could get her killed. Castle Halvor has its secrets, and figures lurk around every corner - especially when the Laird's scheming brother arrives.
Yet, Fiona soon catches the eye of a dark and brooding soldier named Callum. And the lighthearted Hamish is happy to attend to her every need. And she's found the giant Captain of the Guard staring up at her bedroom window with an intensity that makes her whole body quiver.
The Laird is surrounded by loyal guards. Guards who would do anything to protect their lands, their Laird - and the new Lady of Leith.
Can their affection assure her safety - and perhaps her station - or will The Laird's Agreement bring about the end of them all?

Not what I thought I was getting into, it was better!
Let me just say, WOW! This book was so good! I expected a normal historical RH book, but this had so much more! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting the complex plot and wonderful world building. If you are here for spice only, you will be disappointed, but if you want great conflict and character growth along with your spice, this is the book for you.
A Highlander Why Choose Romance. Fiona is a woman of strength, justice and caring who has lived her life in fear of the men in it. She is married to Bryan another cruel man. Then she meets Callum a dark and brooding soldier, Hamish and the giant Captain of the Guard Geoffrey, and they will become very important to her. This story held my interest from cover to cover, it is well worth reading. I received a copy of this book via and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this. The spice was a 2/5 for me. The FMC was my favorite character for me. She really came into her own by the end. The ending is why I gave this a 3⭐️ it seemed like the chapter wasn’t finished and just ended, in the middle of a scene. But overall I enjoyed it
I love a good Scottish highlander story! Throw in a why choose romance, and I am a goner. I loved this! There wasn't a lot of actual spice, but it was pretty hot when it was there. There was a lot of plot in this book, and there were a few good little twists. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters.
