I found a pattern that uses woven ribbons, but 1. They are expensive and 2. They are polyester. I thought to myself, "Self, there must be a way to replicate this pattern using cotton!" So, I searched for cotton ribbons. They want to fray, plus see #1 above. Next, I found this lovely book. YAY!!! I was right, there was another way! And I can reuse thrifted clothes or scraps from other projects. I already own bias tape makers and wefty-type tools in several sizes, spray starch, an iron, several yards of heat-activated interfacing, lots of colors of threads, and a few sewing machines. All I need is to put together a grid board. I also have grid paper to plan my designs!!! I am having surgery, and am looking for something interesting to do during my down time. I think this looks like a *lot* of fun. This book has no typos, is well-written and well-illustrated, and has no complicated patterns to try to get copied from my phone.
Overall, 9 out of 10 bobbins! Good job. Highly recommended to buy or borrow. Lots of inspiration. Good for all ages, but it might be too complicated for those under 10. 🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵
