Amelia and Arthur don't know eachother, Amelia knows of the Duke based on Ton gossip only.
She has already judged him and isn't pleased to learn she has been betrothed to him by her father. She selflessly only agrees to ensure her sister has her happy ever after.
Both H&H are determined to go into this marriage as a marriage of slight convenience- they want no feelings involved and have set rules for their relationship.
Its a bit cold but they have their reasons.
Arthur is a misunderstood man filled with sorrow, guilt, and longing and he finds his way to repairing his heart&soul with Amelia by his side.
Although Amelia thought she knew him and what she wanted she quickly learns she knew nothing, wrongly judged, and she that what she thought she wanted wasn't what she needed.
Its a story with good meaning, to not judge others, to build trust, and give people second chances.
My only issue would be it felt a bit rushed, as if it was slightly unfinished otherwise a good read.
I received an ARC copy for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own
I usually like most of what Sally Vixen writes, but Seduced by the Beastly Duke sadly (for me) missed the mark.
Although I liked the story (which had a twist) and the lead characters (who had lots of chemistry), the pages and pages of introspection really slowed the pace to the point of tedium. Also, at about the sixty percent mark, this book became a wee bit silly.
On a positive note, not only was the ending complete, and the extended epilogue (offered at the end) very sweet, but the bedroom scenes were very well written.
Content 411: In addition to a mild amount of swearing, this book also contains passionate thoughts and married sex.
This is the first time I've ever read anything by this author. I had been avoiding her books because her last name gave me the impression that her books were trashy. I'm happy to say that I was wrong. This was a marriage of convenience story. Arthur, the Duke, had a tragic past which caused him to be misunderstood by society. He was hardly a beast. He arranged his marriage to Amelia via her debt-ridden father. Arthur and Amelia gradually fell in love as they got to know one another. The story came to a happy ending without any loose ends. A nice quick read!
Wonderful story and storyline. This book let us know not to judge others without the facts, which we all do so easily, even though we know it might hurt someone’s reputation unjustly for life. But reading this book lets us know it’s never to late to change our ways and sometimes wrongs can be righted to allow someone to acknowledge how wrong they have been and rectify their mistake, and let love come in to lead us forward. Also when this happens we just might find our happily ever after or better still let the wronged person find their happily ever after.
A business deal brought them together but love kept them together. Arthur and Amelia marriage of convenience was not what they expected. I really became invested in these two characters as the story progressed. It is a very well done story and seeing the growth between them made for an excellent read. I liked that the characters had a human feel to them. High praised to the author for this jewel I highly recommend it.
A marriage of convenience. Does it mean a sacrifice, a means to an end or a chance of love and happiness.
The story flowed well and it had some twists and turns which I didn’t see coming. I enjoyed the interaction between the main characters, they slowly got to know each other and built up trust and respect.
I enjoyed this mystery romance mix. There were a few editing mistakes that caused some hiccups in the flow but the pace was nicely regular and the characters rounded out. The mystery was managed well but there too it needs a little more work. Overall a nice story.
It was a twisted tale of destruction (the fire), guilt (not able to save his parents), low self-esteem, mind games, kindness, bravery, friendship, and love. There were parts where I was on the edge of my seat. and other parts I wanted to give person a swift kick in the arse. Thoroughly good read.
Never believe rumors. Amelia sacrificed herself instead instead of little sister. Arthur was supposed to to a beast and murderer, but was he really. Fast pace read with intrigue a lot of action and well written.
I love Sally Vixen, she never disappoints. From start to finish you are kept enthralled. The use of "that" so often was a little distracting. But still a great book
