The Azure Series is now available in this book epic fantasy collection including the main three books: Cora: Rise of the Fallen Goddess, Azure Blue, and Coral Red.
Book I: Cora: Rise of the Fallen Goddess. Abandoned. Imprisoned. Loved. Cora is the goddess Persephone, living in Greece in the fourteenth century B.C. To shelter her from prophecy, Demeter, sends her away. She is raised by the nymph queen, Nephrea. But prophecy still portends danger for her in adulthood. When Cora falls, Demeter threatens to freeze the world. Nephrea offers sacrifice to quell Demeter's rage, but it may be more than the goddess who needs saving.
Book II: Azure Blue. An immortal race freed by death and defiance of the gods. Nymph queen Delia grieves the death of a king who once united the land, while her unruly daughter, Avva, wishes to mourn him in her own way. Avva flies over the Strait. Such hubris forces sacrifice. Nymphs fall to the Underworld. There they find Cora. And Cora might be the only goddess willing to help them. After all, she's fallen to the Underworld before.
Book III: Coral Red. The immortal shall die by the will of Persephone. No one can douse the fire stewing in Cora's heart over the plight of her beloved nymphs. But as Cora wars bent on revenge, she risks hurting the land and people she loves.

WOW! This is the best fiction novel (series) I've read in a long time.
It is a combination of Greek "Mythology", Egyptian "mythology", A new take (at least for me) on the Atlantis myth, Possibly some mythologies I don't recognize & many of the author's creative ideas.
It follows several generations of major characters from all the above. It is LONG; plan on devoting some well deserved time to the series.
One of the many things I liked, is I have been reading many of the "steamy" "Young Adult" paranormal books from the better authors that I have discovered as of late. Those books are a great escape from our awful real world; but they have nowhere the depth & breadth that Azure brings to the table.
IMO, one truth about us humans that is a theme throughout is many of us are more evil than good, but there are exceptions. In the case of the Greek Gods as portrayed here, the question isn't which are evil, but which are the least evil. The answer I took away: Hades & Persephone (surprise!) THat will be the only spoiler in this review.
When I was a child, I loved the Greek, Roman & Scandinavian "Myths" (the quotes are due to my opinion that today's accepted religions are no less a myth than the ancient ones). Today I don't remember them well, & I don't find myself enjoying the originals (& for that matter, this is the best "spinoff" I've read in a long time, if not ever; the only other spinoff I've enjoyed the last few years have been some of the Loki series).
One thing I am unsure of; in the case of several characters (especially Persephone, Avvea, Demetrius, Cassandra & others) pretty much every time they are mentioned, they are given 2-3 different names within a paragraph (example: Persephone, Cora & Kore are the same person). I had no difficulty following this, but from my ignorance I'm curious as to why.
To sum up, this series brought back much of the magic from my childhood of these stories; + many new directions at least for me from the author's plotting.
And it was done in a manner that will not insult people of intelligence &/or maturity. Though, it's also largely appropriate for higher than average intellegence children with strong reading skills.
Highly recommended; though again, be prepared for a LONG read. I almost never give 5 stars for a book, but there's really no choice here. Can't wait to read more of this author's work.
This is a fantastic series and is now in a boxset ready to be binge read! Well written with an incredible take on mythology set in a fantastic world that you will not want to wait to explore. An intriguing and exciting adventure filled with possibilities, danger and sacrifices and wonderful characters!
This was a great boxed set filled with a series that will keep you coming back for more thanks to the entertaining characters and engaging story line of each book. I can't wait for my next adventure with this author.

I absolutely love most stories about Persephone and Hades and jump at the chance to read them. This one was a pretty decent version of them. Not my favorite but pretty fun.
