She’s a lawyer who is questioning the toll her career is taking. He’s already faced the consequences of an all-consuming profession. Will these two learn that love beats work any day?

ANGIE

I’m being eaten alive by a career that’s consumed me for years, when I suddenly find myself on administrative leave. Unless I rediscover my killer instincts in the courtroom, I’m out of there.

When asked to house-sit by a fellow lawyer, I don’t give it a second’s thought. So what if I don’t have a clue where Coogan’s Break is? Anything is better than staring at the walls of my apartment.

On my second visit to Dynamic Five Dance, any thoughts of my job back in the city flee. The last time I saw Drew Morton-Huxley was at his final performance with Manhattan Modern Dance.

His dancing was the hottest thing I’d ever seen, leaving me squirming in my seat. The way he’s looking at me now and I wonder if I’m about to discover if he’s as good in the flesh as he had been on stage.

DREW

It has taken years, but I’ve finally accepted my life as a dancer is over. If I was a racehorse, they would have shot me that night.

I haven’t left that world behind completely, deciding that if I can no longer dance, I should pay my dues by helping those who still can, or at least want to.

While my dance school pays the bills, it doesn’t light my fire as performing used to. All that changes the second I spot Angela Bennington out in reception.

Womanly curves coupled with a body that moves like silk and I’m burning to dance with her. I’ll need to move fast though, if I’m to beat Juan Alcaraz, my teacher of Latin American, to it.

If you like your romances short and steamy, you’ll love this series of curvy women, opposites attract romances. They can be read in any order you choose, there’s a guaranteed HEA with no cheating, and no cliffhangers.

Hope's love affair with romance began with a teenage binge-reading marathon through Barbara Cartland's entire collection, before graduating to spicier titles that made her blush and kept her turning pages well past midnight. From schoolgirl crushes and pop star posters covering every inch of her bedroom walls to now, when the walls are pin-free but she only needs to close her eyes to see her ideal man, Hope has always believed in the power of a good love story.

Hope believes everyone deserves love and that heroines come in all shapes and sizes - because real women have curves, attitude, and the power to bring any alpha male to his knees (and while he's down there...) She also likes to believe there's a welcoming town like Coogan's Break for all of us, where the girls love their curves and the guys are hotter than hell, where opposites attract and sparks fly from the very first meeting.

In Hope's world, love is steamy, fast, and utterly irresistible - just the way the best romances should be.

Outstanding Love Story . . .

Drew Morton-Huxley had been a famous professional dancer who gave it up after an injury to his Achilles tendon. But rather than walk away completely, he opened a dance studio in Coogan’s Break to teach others to dance. He hired Juan Alcaraz to teach the Latin dance that he could no longer perform, but Juan is a sleazy “predator” type who has a reputation with the students.

Angie Bennington is a lawyer who was put on 3-months of administrative leave before she burned out completely. A fellow lawyer asked her to house-sit for her at her home in Coogan’s Break. Angie has also done some competitive dancing, so she decides to sign up for the Latin dance instruction. Because Drew had always been her idol, she recognized him immediately. She had been in the audience when he tore his tendon and had cried at his physical and emotional pain as he collapsed and they carried him offstage. Thinking of this now, she looked stricken and he offered his office where she could sit down. When he said there was no vacancy for the lesson wanted, she asked for one dance with him, her dream come true. When he said he couldn’t, she told him she would dance with Juan then, her lawyer’s experience telling her Drew had been protecting her from that fate when he said there was no vacancy. She would never accept Juan, but hoped Drew would give in to keep the womanizer away from her. She says she will settle for one dance, and if she can’t keep up with him, he will never see her again. This will be the first time in three years he will dance again with a woman.

When the wrong track plays for a more advanced dance, Angie told him she was up for it if he was. The two of them danced as if they had been together forever. Then he danced a second dance, and they went into his apartment. She is the only woman he had ever taken there. They spent the next day together at a vineyard, and each day after that was spent dancing and enjoying each other. She knows the pain she is going to have when she leaves; but it would be the same if she tried to stop seeing him now, so she enjoyed every moment. By their 5th night, she told herself he could never want someone like her. She didn’t have a chance of him loving her. And distracted, her dancing worsened and she stepped hard on his foot. She picked up her bag, not sure how to say goodbye. Was this the end of their relationship? It was for the best since she was leaving soon. And even preparing herself for this moment, her heart was breaking.

This story was so emotional and beautiful. Drew and Angie seemed made for each other. He was her idol and she never expected to see him again, especially up close and able to touch each other. What decision would she make about her job now? Where was her life headed? And how could she face not seeing him anymore?

In the book Break Loose, Drew is retired dancer who was injured and stopped performing. He now owns a dance studio in Coogan’s Break. Angie is on sabbatical from her work as a lawyer. She was trying to make partner however she was suffering from severe anxiety due to her court performances. While on break she sees the dance studio and goes in asking for a lesson. She never anticipated that Drew would be there. She had seen him perform before. Drew agrees to give her one dance after the studio is closed. This dance leads them to a passionate love affair where Angie has to decide if she is liking to give up her career as a lawyer to stay in this small town with Drew. Very quick, easy to read book.
