Rust and Recuperation

Rate this book
Mike Everill restores tanks. Wealthy collectors pay a lot of money to have his team turn rusted wrecks into living history and for the skilled tank mechanic, buried treasures litter every 20th century battlefield. That’s how it works in theory, anyway. The reality is more complicated. There are crooks; there are fools. There are always money worries and worst of all, there is the obsession: to people who know these vehicles It’s hard to abandon even one to the ravages of time. Simon would be the first to admit that he’s obsessed: he left school to spend more time around tanks. Alex is less enthusiastic, but needed a steady job in order to stay out of prison – and it was better than working in the sausage factory. Somehow, Mike keeps the work coming in – and sometimes the money as well – but life is about to become much more complicated.

Quirky, but thoroughly enjoyable. It's high time this truly talented author released a new book.
