I’m always pleased when Joyce Meyer has a new book out. Especially when it’s a devotional. I love a variety of devotionals and spiritual growth books, and Joyce is one of my go-tos.

Daily Devotions from Psalms is focused on one of my favorite books of the Bible. Psalms (like Proverbs) fuels us for everyday life with God’s wisdom, direction, and love. Including Scripture verses and simple prayers, this devotional is a keeper.

What better way to start each day than devoting our time and attention to God’s word and plans. This powerful book makes the perfect give for the upcoming holidays!

Joyce Meyer has a new devotional out, Daily Devotions from the Psalms. I always appreciate Meyer's books because they are so down-to-earth, easy to read and easy to relate to. Meyer always seems to put herself on the same level as her readers--she doesn't talk down to anyone.

Daily Devotions from the Psalms is a small book, measuring a little over 5 by 7 inches. That is a great size to stick in your purse, backpack or brief case for a quick read when you need some encouragement to keep living the Christian life. This book has 365 devotions in it and they cover a broad range of topics that most Christians deal with on a day to day basis--stress, worry, waiting, finding peace, anger, and so much more. Each reading starts with a Bible verse, then a short devotional written by Meyer and ending with a short prayer.

There is a short introduction in the beginning of Daily Devotions from the Psalms. You could read this book every day, you could pick and choose your readings or do whatever works for you. In the introduction, Meyer says, I pray that the Book of Psalms will comfort you and that you will grow closer to God and understand His love for you in a whole new way as this devotional leads you through the year ahead of you.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

The Psalms are full of emotion. The writers cry out in situations from distress to worship and joy. Meyer hopes we will relate to God as honestly as the psalmists did. No matter what we are feeling, we can tell God about it.

She does not write on every verse of every psalm. After all, it is the biggest book in the Bible. She does cover a year's worth of verses, hitting the major concepts. The devotions are numbered, not dated, so one could begin using this devotional at any time.

One of my favorites was about sleeping from Psalm 4:8. Rather than lie awake in bed thinking about our problems, Meyer suggests we think about the goodness of God. If there is something for which we need to repent, do so. Then we can sleep with a clean conscience. (Day 7)

Meyer encourages us to be totally honest with God. We can vent our feelings just as David did in Psalm 6. We are not to try and impress God with our lofty prayers, but rather cry out with honest feelings. Admit we are not fine. Admit we feel like God has abandoned us. Do so in faith, however.

As is typical with Meyer, she encourages us to always have hope. She includes encouraging words in each devotion. For example, when others criticize or when we feel rejected, know that God loves us and accepts us. She has good teaching on how to deal with feelings such as jealousy and envy, and much more.

This is a good devotional encouraging readers to express their feelings to God while Meyer gives positive encouragement as well.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

This is a 365 day devotional but I used this as a supplement to a bible study of The Psalms. There is anywhere from 2 - 4 devotionals on each chapter and Joyce does both scripture reading and a personal daily devotion of each one. I would definitely recommend this as a daily devotional through the year.

I read many devotional books each year as part of my devotional time with the Lord. I've enjoyed Meyer's books in the past. When I say that her latest was based on Psalms, one of my favorite books of the Bible, I was excited to read it and make it a part of my day. Life is challenging, and Psalms covers many areas that we encounter on a regular basis, so it's a good go-to option for needed encouragement. Meyer uses Psalms to remind readers of the wisdom found there, and she also writes passages to help apply the wisdom to our own lives. Each day (labeled by a Day# vs. calendar day) includes a title, Bible verse, short devotion, and prayer. At the end of the book is an option to commit to following the Lord, complete with a short prayer. The only thing missing from this lovely book is a ribbon bookmark (but it gives me the opportunity to use one of my many paper bookmarks instead). I look forward to reading through this year after year.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.

Joyce Meyer's DAILY DEVOTIONS FROM PSALMS - 365 Daily Inspirations is a beautifully written and inspiring collection. A must-read and a perfect way to start your day!

Joyce Meyer is highly respected and my go-to author and favorite for devotionals. I own all her devotionals in hardcover and e-book formats. She is tops! She is one of the leading practical Bible teachers in the world. Highly recommend this one and all her devotionals.

DAILY DEVOTIONS FROM PSALMS also comes in a leather-bound format which I have pre-ordered and cannot wait for its arrival. Comes in e-book, hardcover, and leather-bound formats.

The e-book is an easy-to-read format with 365 days of inspiration from the Book of Psalms. It helps us to know and understand God, teaches us how to worship Him, instructs us in wisdom, it encourages us, and offers practical advice for our everyday life.

I love the Book of Psalms and was excited to see this devotional. The Book of Psalms is the longest book of the Bible, with 150 chapters that were initially written as worship songs or poems during the period from 1000 to 300 BC. King David wrote most of the Book of Psalms.

This powerful book will lend you comfort and help you grow closer to God and understand him in our busy lives with something to look forward to every day (whether your devotional time is in the morning or evening). We all need spiritual guidance and growth in our daily journey.

Each day features a topic, a short scripture verse, an essential message from Joyce, and a prayer. A simple format and easy to understand.

"No matter what you face in life, God wants to be involved in it. He wants you to tell him how you feel, and he wants to help you."

A powerful and positive mindset each day of the year with uplifting insights and motivational Bible verses.

A note from Joyce
I hope this devotional will help you relate to God as the psalmists did and that you will share your heart with Him freely and in new ways while you go through it and for the rest of your life. As you do, I believe you will discover fresh and wonderful qualities about Him and be strengthened in your faith and trust in Him. No matter what you face in life, God wants to be involved in it. He wants you to tell Him how you feel, and He wants to help you.

I pray that the Book of Psalms will comfort you and that you will grow closer to God and understand His love for you in a whole new way as this devotional leads you through the year ahead of you.

A special thank you to #FaithWords and #NetGalley for a gifted eARC in exchange for an honest review. I also ordered the leather-bound copy.

Daily Devotions from Psalms is a brand-new devotional from Joyce Meyer. She explained how Psalms is the longest book of the Bible. It contains 150 chapters. It was written in the style of worship songs and poems. King David, Moses, Asaph, and the sons of Korah all wrote the book of Psalms. This book can assist us in learning more about who God is and how we can worship Him. Each day included a verse, a short story and teaching, and a brief prayer.

One of my favorite days discussed having peace while we are sleeping and that God will watch over us. Joyce explained how a countless number of us have trouble sleeping at night. We stay up late thinking about and worrying about all kinds of things. We believe the key to solving them is ponder over what could happen next. Instead, we could learn to pray and give thanks to God in all things and for all things. Joyce shared how when we think about the goodness of God this in turn will assist us in falling asleep. She encouraged readers to search our hearts and ask God to reveal to us if we have done anything, that we might need to seek His forgiveness. It’s extremely important to sleep with a clear conscience. We must learn to receive His forgiveness completely and sleep with ease.

I would recommend this life changing devotional to anyone who is seeking a new devotional for the new year. Joyce Meyer has an awesome teaching method to explain the material in a language that everyday readers can understand more clearly. I loved how she described how praise confuses the enemy. One of the scriptures even stated how infants and children can praise God and it will create a stronghold and silence our enemy. This was a huge encouragement to us that praising God can stop and limit the enemies’ attacks on our lives. We can instead focus more on praising about God’s goodness and everything He has done of us and all that He will do in the future.

Daily Devotions from Psalms by Joyce Meter is a small hardcover 365 day devotional that starts in the first chapter and verse of the book of Psalms and works its way through to the very last chapter of the book of Psalms. The book begins with an introduction that briefly describes the book of Psalms

Each one-page devotion begins with a scripture verse and the brief devotion explains the verse, gives a short lesson, and encourages the reader. Finally, it closes with a prayer designed on the verse.

I really love books by Joyce Meyer, who is able to bring scriptures to all people based on her skill with language. She makes things easy to understand for those with little Biblical knowledge, but those same explanations are relevant to those with a great knowledge of scripture.

If you're looking for your next devotional for the coming year, Daily Devotions from Psalms should be one that you seriously consider. The Psalms are known to be prayers and a good way to begin praying is just praying the Psalms. These devotionals are great when you don't have a long time to read before you get your day going but want to do something to edify your soul and get your day started on the right foot.

I received Joyce Meyer's new book, Daily Devotions from Psalms, as a gift to review and like other Joyce Meyer's books, it's simple and to the point. Would you expect anything different? Joyce is straightforward in her writing and her messages and it's one of the things that appeals to me the most.

In this little book of devotions, Joyce starts in Psalm 1 and leads you all the way to Psalm 150, by giving you a verse or two to focus on, a short devotional message, followed by a prayer. This is the perfect book to get you started in the morning or end your day with it at night.

The introduction gives a great explanation of book of Psalms, it's purpose and who the writers were, which I found to be very helpful.

I would definitely recommend adding this to your devotional bookshelf!

Why 4 stars? The one thing missing from this book, I felt, was a list of additional verses that would correspond to the psalm of the day. I think additional verses are always a great addition because they get you searching and ultimately lead to some great discoveries in God's word.

Joyce Meyer has the ability to write about God’s word with practicality and encouragement. I’ve read a variety of Ms. Meyer’s publications and I’ve come away from each and every one with a better understanding of the Bible and the scriptures. Straightforward, easily understood and motivating is what you’ll find in Joyce’s words. This book is set up as a 365-day daily devotional so I’ve obviously not finished reading all 365 days yet, but what I’ve read and enjoyed so far is typical Joyce Meyer – uplifting, encouraging and inspirational just like the woman herself. I look forward to reading and re-reading this Daily Devotional for years to come because I always gain more insight each time I read her words. I'm grateful to have been given an opportunity to read an early copy of this book through NetGalley.

Great Yearly Devotions

As a renowned New York Times bestseller, Joyce Meyer, hope and pray that her devotional Book of Psalms will comfort her readers and that we will grow closer to God and understand His love for us in a whole new way as we use each daily devotional in the upcoming year, and for the rest of our life.

Then, Joyce Meyer provides 365 days of heart-warming topics, with scripture and a meditative note corresponding to the scripture presented that is very encouraging.

This is a very good book of devotionals that anyone can use, possibly as a journal to also write your thoughts on the topic for that particular day that may be used as a future reference.

I like to find new daily devotional books and have enjoyed this one. I like the size and format as well as the writing of the devotional thoughts. I've heard how it is a good practice to read a Psalm a day which is something I'd like to do next year once I finish the Bible reading plan I'm doing currently. This book focuses on a different verse from a Psalm each day. You can start anytime, it isn't dated. It has a verse to read followed by a devotion and a short prayer.

This would make a nice addition to your daily Bible reading routine as well as a nice gift book.

I received a copy of this book from Hachette Book Group for my honest review. Thank you.

It's almost that time of year when we start thinking about a devotional for the New Year. Joyce has gathered 365 Psalms and written a specific devotion. For example: Watch Your Mouth, Life is Short, Grace For Each Day, to name a few.
David and the writers of Psalms related to God with total, heartfelt honesty - and we should do the same.
This devotional is perfect for the person looking for daily help and inspiration in an easy to understand read.

Joyce always lifts me. Each day gave me something to ponder, something to absorb or something to convict me. Her personal experiences have given her a sensitivity to the human condition, especially women, in a way that only someone who has gone through the pain can communicate. I read these at night, so I had a Psalm to take to sleep with me.

I love a good daily devotional! A scripture along with an inspiration is the best way for me to start the day. It sets my mood. It assigns a goal for the day. And it helps me keep a positive attitude.

Joyce Meyer is well known for her spiritual guidance and books. So when I saw a new Daily Devotional available for advance reading, I pushed download so fast that I almost broke a nail. Psalms is one of my favorite books of the Bible too. With every read, it is a new interpretation.

Daily Devotions from Psalms provides a powerful and positive mindset for each day of the year. Each entry begins with a scripture from Psalms followed by a brief practical teaching and ends with a short prayer. The format makes it almost impossible to fall behind on reading. For review purposes, I read ahead but intend to revisit my highlights.

This daily devotional is meant for readers to grow closer with God. No doubt you will look forward to starting your day reading selected Psalms and applying to your life. Pssst...tis the holiday season as this will make a great bookish gift!

Happy Belated Pub Day, Joyce Meyer! Daily Devotions from Psalms is now available.

I wish there were more daily devotionals based on different books o the bible. It really helped me dig deeper and better understand the psalms. I enjoyed the short prayers at the end of each day. I also liked how each day had the scripture printed on the top of the page.
