From John Gray, bestselling author of Manchester Christmas and Chasing Manhattan, comes the third novel in a heartwarming trilogy full of charm, romance, and mystery.
Always blazing their own path, newly engaged couple Chase and Gavin decide to forego a typical American wedding, followed by a honeymoon in Italy. Instead, they’ll spend the month of December in Rome with a local Italian family, learning the customs and exploring every romantic adventure they can find.
On a trip to the famed Colosseum, Chase and Gavin meet an elderly artist who offers them four riddles that he promises will unlock the most romantic places in all of Italy. As the couple deciphers each clue, they are taken from the canals of Venice to the Bridge of Sighs over the Tiber, to a monastery on the Island of Elba — meeting others who are struggling with secrets, love, and loss. They encounter heart-pounding intrigue and old-world charm on the ancient streets of Rome, and discover that almost nothing is as it seems. Will Chase and Gavin make it to their wedding on Christmas Eve or will they forever find themselves Chasing Rome?
We find Chase and Gavin off on another adventure, this time in Rome. While exploring they encounter a local artist that gives them four riddles to solve to find the most romantic places in Italy. While they are solving these riddles they encounter intrigue and old-world charm on the ancient streets of Rome, and discover that almost nothing is as it seems. Will they make it to the alter for their wedding?
John Gray has brought Chase and Gavin to life once again for a new adventure, this time in Rome. Rather than stay in a hotel as they explore the country and plan their wedding, they stay with a family and learn authentic culture. Chase’s first surprise is that, in Italy, you don’t order cappuccino after noon. There are many more lessons to come. While this is a stand-alone story, you might want to read the first two novels in this trilogy, Manchester Christmas and Chasing Manhattan. You will find many things in this final story that will be more enjoyable once you understand Chase and Gavin (and Scooter’s) history. John Gray is blessed with the ability to tell a story so that you are excited to turn the page to see what happens next. I will really miss the Chase and Gavin stories but am very happy with the ending.
The trilogy with Chase, Gavin, and Chase’s dog, Scooter, comes to an end in Rome after taking place in Vermont and Manhattan. Rome is going to be the place where they get married and it is Gavin’s job to find Romantic places. While sight seeing Gavin meets an older man painting and Gavin lets him know he is in Rome to get married. So the old man says if you’re looking for romance you need to find a lock, a kiss, a letter and a puzzle. And there the riddles to solve and mystery begins. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these three books with love, romance and mystery! They are great reads!!
The third and final book in this series did not disappoint. Set in Rome in December, I immediately fell in love with the characters especially Francesca, Gio, Jules, and Nonna. Another faith based story filled with love, friendship, mystery, hope, and miracles. So sad that Chase and Gavin’s adventures together end with this story but I absolutely loved this series.
I’m a bit surprised at how many stars this book has. It felt like reading about a place from a person who had never been there before and I get that this is romantic fiction, but the writing wasn’t that great to me either. I did finish the book and happy endings are cute, but I don’t think I’d recommend this.
Another amazing book by John Gray. I read it in a few hours. Brings pieces of home to those who don't live in the Capital District anymore. I teared up reading about Siena College, Verdiles and Mr. Kissick. Definitely a must read.
I could not put this book down what a great read. Thank You Mr Gray job well done. My thoughts go out to Keller being by your Dads side while writing this beautiful book.
Once again, a great story and I really liked all the characters. Though I noticed that Chase tends to interrupt people she's in conversations with. That could be her personality but it kind of annoyed me. Other than that though, I really liked it.
John Gray knows how to tie all the loose ends together. Chase and Gavin are at it again. In the third book of the trilogy more puzzles were finally figured out as they went about Rome to find the perfect spot to get married. Great story of friendship, love, loss and family.
Loved how this final book of the series was also heartfelt with a bit of mystery. I would definitely recommend it as a lighter read with a feel good ending!
