But they also require that kids learn responsibility and compassion. It's important to learn about the so many dogs that need to be rescued and what is involved in adopting a dog. Author, artist and dog mom, Mary Beth Stevens divides her time between caring for critters and making a glorious mess at her art table. Mary Beth has volunteered for canine rescue and humane societies in the areas of special events, home visits, and fostering, all of which resulted in Tippy joining her family and inspiring her first book, Tippy Finds a Home.
