The Single Dads of Seattle #8

Neighbors with the Single Dad - Scott

Rate this book
Mixing business with pleasure has never been more complicated.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.
This is Scott's story ...

Single Dad of Seattle, Scott Dixon wasn't looking for love when he tagged along to a bachelor party one night. And he certainly wasn't looking for a one-night-stand with an intriguing redhead with moss-green eyes and a killer smile. But that's exactly what he got. Only, when she vanishes the next morning without a trace, Scott's heart is broken and his ego a little bruised. What's a guy to do?

Recently divorced, single mom, Eva Marchand just needs to start over. Her ex-husband was a monster who ruled her life with a fist of fury making her fear for her life and her sons'. She's moving on, and moving into a new neighborhood. She never expected the new neighbor who came to say hello to be her incredible, unforgettable one-night-stand from last month though. Not that she's complaining.

Things between Eva and Scott immediately begin to heat up again -- and as a bonus -- their kids get along great. The two are determined to look at their new proximity as divine intervention from the fates -- that is until Scott's new VIP client at work turns out to be none other than Eva's evil ex -- and he is hell-bent on making things difficult for everyone.

Can Scott and Eva find a way to stay together without Scott losing his job or Eva and her sons falling into danger, or will Eva being neighbors with the single dad be an intervention they both wish the fates had stayed out of?

**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger, or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.**

A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, Whitley’s books have all the funny and fabulously filthy words you could hope for.

I am so in love with the Single Dads of Seattle series. Whitley Cox brings a genre to life that you want to read but isn't always so easy to love to read. In this book, we get two characters that have been badly mistreated in past relationships and don't really need or want new ones. They are focused on taking care of their children and are trying to heal.

But when Scott and Ava are neighbors the chemistry might just be too much for either of them to handle. And the friendship, connection, and children togetherness might just be what they both need to heal the most.

Another great story by Whitley Cox!

5 star review Neighbors With The Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #8) by Whitley Cox

Every time I read a new book in this series, I find myself with a new favourite. I have fallen hard and fast for each single dad and Scott Dixon is no exception. They love their families and the friends who have become like brothers as they meet each Saturday for their poker night.

Watching his friends fall in love, Scott wonders if he too will get another chance at happiness. When a one night hook up with Eva, leaves Scott wanting more, he is frustrated to wake to an empty room.

Fate moves in mysterious ways and Scott is shocked to find that his new neighbor is single mum, Eva Marchand, his recent one night stand.

The chemistry between Scott and Eva is intense but oh so hot and steamy. Their children get on well and they both decide to see how the relationship develops.

Badly burnt by her ex husband’s lies and betrayal Eva is wary of opening herself up to love again. Is Scott the man who can break through the walls she has built and get her to take a chance on love or is Eva destined to be alone forever?

One of the things I love with this series is that we often see other members of the club pop up throughout the story; the camaraderie and friendships amongst the men and the women they fall in love with is something that I love to catch up on.

There were times when I laughed and times where I wanted to cry but I was riveted from the first to the last chapter. Scott is totally swoon worthy and I love how he treated Eva and her boys.

I was on the edge of my seat as Ms. Cox took us on a journey that had my heart in my mouth at times, hoping that good would triumph over evil.

Neighbors with the Single Dad
(The Single Dads of Seattle #8)
By Whitley Cox

I’m worried because I’m almost finished with the Single Dad’s series; thank goodness I still have a few more to go to the end!

Scott Dixon, single dad and wondering why on earth did he say he would come to this bachelor party!

Eva Marchand, single mom and wondering why she was at the bachelorette party! Then she bumps into Scott at the bar, there’s a conversation, some flirting and innuendo and there is no reason why two single people on a night out can’t hook up. What they each thought would be one night turned out to be more.

Six weeks later, Eva and her two boys move next door to Scott and his son. Kismet? Serendipity? Who knows but they each think that things might just be looking up.

The initial draw to each other continues to grow; as their boys become friends they start spending a lot more time with each other. Is there something out there that might end this relationship? Unfortunately, yes there is ~ it just so happens that Scott’s newest client is Eva’s abusive ex-husband and things are going to get rough!

There was so much going on in this book, I loved both Scott and Eva and the boys add a bit of fun and humor to this story. It’s needed because as Scott and Eva work on their relationship, her Ex. is threatening trouble.

Lots of steam in this book, these two were made to heal each other but there is also a lot of suspense where Eva’s ex is concerned and it made for an exciting read. I can’t get enough of the sexy Seattle single dads!

This next addition to the Single Dads of Seattle is nothing less than a huge five stars. Scott and "Just" Eva have a chance meeting, one fleeting night where they can just be two people without responsibilities who have chemistry that would light up the night sky. However, fate has a whole other plan for these two and six weeks later, memories will not be the only thing that has them seeing each other, it will be looking over a fence right next door that gives them the real thing. Their story will have your heart pounding, your pulse racing and your skin flushed. A story packed with emotion, heat, steam and passion that will take you on a journey that also has evil lurking. As pasts come into play these two will need to battle the inner demons as well as the outside ones to finally get their chance at happiness. Neighbors with the Single Dad will captivate you and have you on the edge of your seat as you fall under the spell of magnetism that surrounds these two characters that will steal your heart.

When I started to read this book, it was a rainy day and I was curled up on my sofa by the fireplace... It was the perfect day. Then when I started to read this book it improved tremendously.
Mainly because I love this author and her previous books were to die for.
Whitley Cox is not only a sweetheart but also a brilliant author. She knows what her readers want to read and simply provide. She's that awesome.
Her writing is sweet and wild, hot and intense with so many emotions into the mix. If you have been following her you know that what I'm saying is the truth.
Neighbors with the Single Dad is her latest release and it's the eight-book from The Single Dads of Seattle.
As you know, these series revolve around a  single dad club. All dads are single with a child and will get together to vent and play cards. They created this club to mingle. That being said, I advise you to start reading this series from the start... You'll love it.
This new book explores the lives of Scott and Eva.
Scott's main goal is to raise his son the best he can. He has his brother for support as well as his single dad club. When Scott went to his friend's bachelor party he didn't know what he would find until a redhead bombshell...
Eva finally got her divorce settled and was free to raise her kids without that douche of a husband. She needed a night out and was caught up in a bachelorette party but it wasn't her thing. She isn't into those things and drunk girls were a pain. When she was "saved" by a hunk of a man...
Oh my my my... This book... This book made me shake...
Sublime plot, very well written, super engaging and intense. It was one emotional ride.
Each chapter had the ability to hook me up and I couldn't stop reading.
It was one chapter after the other and I didn't realize that I've read it super quickly.
It was amazing to see the interaction between the two main characters. It was breathtaking to witness their struggles.
I really adored everything and the kids melted my heart.
I wanted to keep reading. I wanted to see more and more...
There were parts of the book that I really wanted to murder someone... But then there were others that made me want to be right there with them,  holding them and promising better days.
And... Dayum... Some hot stuff into the mix as well. Oh boy... Hot hot hot.
Whitley, you my dear, nailed it. This story stole my heart and it was so worth it. You explored another peculiar theme, domestic violence so perfectly, that you almost put me into tears.
I loved the fact that we keep getting glimpses of the other characters. It's amazing.
I can't wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Amazing! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is my first time reading one of Whitney Cox books. This is actually the eighth book in the The Single Dads series. This is Eva and Scott's story. Both are single parents. But Eva has 2 little boys, while Scott has 1 little boy. Scott was married to someone that treated like he nobody. While Eva had it alittle worst, Her ex-husband was very emotionally and verbally abusive to her. They met one night while they was out with some friends. Then went to Eva hotel and kicked off their night out together. Then out of the blue a few months later they met again, but as neighbors. Can Scott make Eva see that she is deserving of a life she’s always wanted? Or will she let her past and fears hold her back from what she wants? I can't wait to read more from this series. I will definitely going back and reading from the beginning. Keep up the amazing work!

review by CHANTELLE

This is the first book in this series that I have read and it definitely wont be the last. I loved this book, the plot and the characters. It was engaging and it kept me reading to the point I couldnt put it down and before I knew it I was at the end of the book. It was easy reading and I loved watching their story develop but it wasn’t all plain sailing. There are a few bumps in the road that threaten the relationship. You get to see the other single dads and even though I hadn’t read the other books it was easy to keep up. I now need to read the others as I need to read their story’s and if they are as good as this one then I’m in for some good reading.

After his divorce Scott is focusing on his love for his son and isn’t looking for another serious relationship. Attending a bachelor party was supposed to be a fun night out with the guys and he certainly wasn’t expecting to be meet a woman who intrigued him on more than a physical level or that he would want more than one night.

Eva has just emerged from a disastrous and dangerous marriage and all she wants is a new start far away from their past so that they can heal from the emotional scars that still remain. On a night out with the girls she didn’t expect the feelings that a sexy stranger inspired in her but she also knew that she wasn’t ready to allow another man in her life.

Life had other plans for both Scott and Eva as they now find themselves neighbors. As they spend time together the feelings between them deepen but will her past destroy the future they could have together?

Scott is exactly what Eva needs in her life and there is nothing he won’t do for those he loves while Eva shows the strong and resilient woman that she is. I am loving this series and this book is no exception.

This series is like a hit and a miss for me. One is good then the next one I just couldn't get through. But this one I really enjoyed.
Scott and Ava meet in a bar when Ava was trying to have a night off from her kids and just being divorced. Scott was at a bachelor party. One thing leads to another and unforgettable night spent together.
Six weeks later, who happens to be Scott's new neighbor the Just Ava he had an amazing night with. Not even the end of the story. Scott's new client is none other than Ava's abusive douche ex husband. Talk about complicated.
I loved this one, it was fun, sweet, hot and Scott was patient, caring, kind, protective and an amazing father. Both of them not looking for a relationship but can't deny that what they have is something they don't want to loose.

I definitely recommend this one. I loved the whole story. I loved the different characters, how they were supportive of the couple. This one I will so want to read again!

A Strong, Romantic, Satisfying Story.
Another wonderful storyline in this series that contained a whole host of characters that I absolutely loved and, absolutely hated (because he was evil).
The two who were showcased was another divorced dad, Scott with six year old son, Freddie. Moving into the house next door ended up being his one night stand from six weeks before, Eva and her two sons, Kellan and Lucas, right around Freddie’s age.
Luckily Scott and Eva continue to be attracted to each other and act upon that like bunnies. But, nothing is accomplished without any hitches. And there’s a big one...Eva’s ex-husband who’s mean, lies, and is an emotional abuser. So he needs to be dealt with before a satisfying HEA is achieved.
The author has written such a strong series about a group of single dads and the woman who brings love back into their lives.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and the series, for your reading enjoyment, pleasure and satisfaction. Peace.

Scott and Eva are in the same bar, him for a bachelor party where he realizes he doesn't like the guys, and her, with friends she feels the same way about. When comes to her rescue concerning a bathroom line, they start talking. She becomes bold, needing a night just for her, she invites him to her room.

Eva and Scott never thought they would see each other again so imagine their surprise when his new neighbor is Eva. She is moving in right next door with her two sons, next to his and his son. This start as friends through their kids but soon lines blur, and they are falling for each other, until her past comes back and risk everything, not just love.

While I liked the story I didn't like Scott he was too goody-goody for my taste and the plot twist was cliché and for me, not developed and drawn out enough. A good read just nothing great or memorable.

This is the first book of this series that I've read. I really enjoyed it. Scott is going to focus his love and attention on his some after his divorce. He's not interested in dating or a serious relationship. He at a bachelor party that was supposed to be a fun night with the guys. He ends up meeting a woman who has caught his attention. Eva has just left an abusive marriage and wants to build a new life for herself and her son. Fate has plans for these two. You need to read this to find out what happens in these two's relationship and how they make it work before a past destroys a future. I plan on checking out more from this author. Decent read

This wasn't as good as the rest. Not sure why, to be honest. I liked the characters and the story- it just didn't work for me like the others. Considering the fact this is book 8, though, I will definitely continue reading her work.

Absolutely loved this book in the series that gives us Scott and Ava’s story. Scott and Ava have a mind blowing, no strings one night stand in a hotel room. Imagine their surprise when a few weeks later they become neighbours. Scott is instantly taken with Ava and she with him but the shadow of her ex husband threatens to ruin their happiness. The characters are as always written so well by Whitley Cox and the storyline is very realistic and absorbing. The chemistry between Scott and Ava is scorching. Highly recommended.

I received an advanced reader copy. I am voluntarily leaving a review. Scott meets Eva at a bar, when they are both avoiding their perspective friend groups. They share a passionate night, but she is gone in the morning. Weeks later, she ends up being his new neighbor. This is a wonderful addition to the Single Dads of Seattle series. There is a lot of steam and some intrigue. A strong 4.5 stars

This has been one of my favorite series & I was so excited to read Scott's book! I loved him & Eva together. Their chemistry was so freaking HOT! Plus I loved how he helped her gain her confidence back after such an awful marriage. There was the perfect amount of angst with her ex!
Gahhh! I can't wait for the next book!!!

I love this Single Dads of Seattle series and this book is another great addition. This is Scott's

Scott was married to a woman who was a selfish narcissist and treated him like he was a nobody in her life. The only good thing she did was give him a son that he absolutely adores. Scott is happy where his life currently is.....He has a new job that he likes and a great group of friends. He isn't looking for a relationship, but he isn't fully opposed to one either. He has had his share of one night stands and he is shocked as after the woman he runs into, literally, offers him a wild night in her hotel room. Eva only have him her first name and no further information about herself. She also snuck out before Scott some up. Scott isn't used to having unsettled feelings about his one night stands, but Eva has gotten under his skin and she just won't leave his mind. Who would ever have thought that weeks later, his mystery one night stand becomes his next door neighbor.I

Eva has lived through hell with all that her ex husband has done to her while she was married to him. All she wants to do is feel safe again and make her life her own with her two sons. Eva has really lost herself to all the verbal abuse that she constantly had to hear from her ex. Getting a new house and starting her business is a step to taking back her control of her life. Never did Eva expect to see Scott standing in her new driveway. Seeing him definitely brought back all the sexy memories from the night they shared. There are many ups and downs as these two single parents navigate their new relationship. One night was not enough for either of them.

Whitley Cox does a great job with writing a wonderful story while adding in just the right amount of sexy moments. I love how we get to hear about the other characters from the previous books. Yes, there is a HEA, but these two have to work hard to get to that point. Only a couple more books left in this series and I so enjoy watching each of these wonderful men fall hard while finding love again! Order this book and I recommend ordering ALL the books in the series......they are all wonderful!!!!!

OMG! I loved this book, Scott & Eva's story their love is beautifully, sweet, genuine & had me hooked from the start. Eva was having a night off being a mum & was at a bachelorette party that she was not enjoying when she bumped into hot sext Scott who also not having fun at the bachelor party he was at, the connection was instant & they went back to her hotel room having pizza & wine & their sexual chemistry was off the charts resulting in a night of passion they would never forget. Fast forward 6wks later when Scott spots his new next door neighbour who was none other than the sexy 'just Eva' that he hadn't been able to forget about when his son went over to play with the new neighbours 2 sons when she saw him the chemistry between them was still there & when his son Freddie invited for dinner it was obvious that it was more than just sex going on between them. Things were going well until they found out that Scott's new VIP client at work was Eva's scumbag ex-husband Todd he told his boss to put somebody else on the job but he refused. When he told Eva she was worried but his brother Liam a lawyer said he will get his friend a PI to look into it & not to worry she met up with all his friends & their children & had a great time feeling comfortable with them all. When Todd the evil scumbag found out that Scott was seeing Eva he told his boss to fire Scott or he will lose his business & threatening Eva, her boys & his son. Liam arranged for them to go somewhere safe but whilst on the phone telling Eva he heard Todd break into her house & threatened & beat her & it seemed like her & Scott would not get the happy ever after they both deserved. I can't wait for the next book already to read Liam's story.

Holy Wow! I have to say that this book was my favorite out of all of them in this series. This story had it all, suspense, danger, lust, steam and everything you could ever want in a man, and Scott is the kind of guy every woman would kill to have. He’s loving, caring, a great father, he’s been hurt in the past, but who doesn’t have baggage? Right? When Scott and Eva meet during baccalaureate and bachelor parties that neither want to be at. One night, no strings, just feeling, it’s a win win for everyone. Except when morning comes she’s gone and all Scott can think about is her. Fate works in mysterious ways and when you just get a feeling from someone you just know you are supposed to be with them. When new neighbors move in next door he’s dumbfounded to see that it’s Eva and her two boys and when she lays eyes on Scott again, that night comes flooding back. Eva has baggage, an ex-husband who tore her down, treated her badly and now she’s skeptical of relationships and giving her trust to any man, but Scott is different and she’s starting to realize everything she’s been missing out on.
These two have an uphill battle ahead of them, obstacles, her ex and everything he brings to her life, which is nothing but pain. The chemistry and spark between these two are undeniable, can Scott make Eva see that she is deserving of a life she’s always wanted? Or will she let her past and her fears dictate her life and hold her back from what she wants? I guess you will need to read to find out. Loved this addition to the series. Scott is every woman’s dream man, well he’s is for me. I received a copy of this book.

Loved Scott and Eva's story!

Scott is Liam's younger brother and has just started a new job. He has moved to one of the biggest advertising companies in the state. He has been asked by the company's new COO to take over the account of a huge business in the area. Knowing this could be his first step to prove himself to his new boss.

Scott goes out one night with guys from his old company to celebrate at a bachelor party when a gorgeous redhead accidentally bumps into him. They actually have a moment when he walks her to the men's restroom so she can quickly go because the line for women is long. He waits outside for her and she asks if he would like to leave with her. So he does. But in the morning he is alone. Sad part is he only knows her first name.

Six weeks later, Eva is moving into her new home with her two young boys. Being rather loud, the movers wake up her new next door neighbor. He's pretty grumpy because he was out late with the other Single Dads Club members playing poker. Now Scott decides he may as well go meet the hew neighbors. Walking up behind her, he notices how beautifully she is built as she is bent over then she turns and looks up and he introduces himself. Only she says it's her sister that is his new neighbor now her. When she calls for her sister they are both shocked to find out it was their one night stand from 6 weeks 3.

So much happens in this story. From Eva's horrible ex-husband to the incredible relationship that both of Eva's boys start with Scott's son. I fall more in love with the Single Dads Club every book. Only 2 left. Keep them coming! Enjoy

Ava and Scott meet in a bar, where they're both trying to escape their respective bachelorette/bachelor parties. They end up in her hotel room, having wine, pizza, and absolutely mind-blowing sex, the best she's ever experienced. But it's just one night with a stranger... He can't stop thinking about her and how great that one night was. But they were Just Scott and Just Ava that night, with no future expectations and no information exchanged. They never expected to see each other again. Until she moves in next door. They pick up where they left off in the hotel. All is not good in suburbia, though. His new client is her abusive ex-husband. His attempts to give the account to another employee are shot down by his boss. And things with her ex go downhill from there. For everyone. Aside from her children, Scott is the best thing to happen to Ava - ever. He's kind, patient, caring, protective, and loves her children. He wasn't looking for a relationship, but aside from his son, she's the best thing to happen to him as well. One of my favorite parts of this book is also what's my favorite part of this series - these guys, and their women by extension, are a big close-knit family, there is nothing they won't do for each other. They're so supportive of Scott and Ava, and the women accept Ava as one of their own. It's been a while since I read a book in this series, and I really regret having missed the last couple of books.

You would think 8 books in you wouldn’t still be saying this series gets better with each book but that’s exactly how I feel with each new release. I love catching up with the single dads of Seattle but more importantly I adore the new characters and their tales.
Scott Dixon’s poker game buddies are all slowly finding and falling for their soulmates and he is left wondering wether their is a woman out there for him. A one night stand with Eva leaves him wanting more from the woman who walked away while he was sleeping but first he needs to find her.....
Fate must be on his side because a new neighbor is moving in and yes you guessed it Eva and her two boys are his new next door neighbours but it’s going to take more that just attraction to get Eva to take a leap into the world of love and romance because she has been badly burnt by her ex.
Children that get on are a good start but Scott needs to up his game to get this woman to think about relationships and the future....
This book ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I sighed , I swooned, I laughed and I shed a tear as this couple work through the dynamics of a new relationship when you both have children to consider. I love how the guys and their partners from the poker games drop in and show how important loyalty and friendship is to all of them and I’m excited for book 9 because this is a series I don’t want to end.

This is the eighth book in the Single Dads of Seattle series and it is Scott’s story. Ms. Cox has once again delivered another absorbing read that will have readers swooning hard. Scott has not had an easy time when it comes to marriage as he chose a self-absorbed, egotistical woman. However, any bad situation has a silver lining and for Scott it is his son. Along with his son, he has a new job, friends and family that he can count on. While attending a bachelor party for a friend, Scott runs into Eva and he is gobsmacked. Eva has had her challenges in the marriage arena as well and decides to break out of her shell with a one-night stand. After an amazing night, Scott wakes up alone and realizes that he is not going to see Eva again. Fate can be a funny thing because when two people are meant to be, it finds a way to put them together. In this case, Eva winds up as Scott’s new neighbor. As the two reconnect, life has a way of throwing more obstacles in their path. Are Scott and Eva strong enough to withstand the onslaught? This is one storyline that is filled with a little bit of everything from drama to heat to angst, and finding the courage to stand up. It is one book, that can be read as a standalone, to one click and add to your library. I am also counting down until the next book. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.

This is Eva and Scott’s story. Scott and Eva have a hot one-night stand and then she disappears. Eva is trying to start over after her divorce. When she moves into a new neighborhood, she runs into none other then her one-night stand from the month before. Then form a friendship around the chemistry they have. Everyone is getting along great until her ex comes back into the picture as none other then Scott’s new VIP client. Her ex is determined to cause trouble. Can these two be together or is this about to be the end of their relationship?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Scott & Eva

The opening is hysterical. I won't spoil it for the reader. Even with the unique situation, Scott finds her not only gorgeous but funny, smart, and he wanted her. She was on her "Mom's night off" for the first time since her vicious divorce. She didn't know where it would lead but Scott was hot and funny and chivalrous.

One glorious night and she was gone. He didn't know her last name or have her phone number. He was disappointed to realize one night was all he'd have with her. Until...his new next-door neighbor bent over to pick up a box. Oh yeah, he recognized her red hair and...

Their boys hit it off and Scott's son invited them to dinner. How could she refuse? One night just might be more. Question: What could stop them now? Answer: Her powerful, vindictive ex being assigned as his big client with his new job.

This story shows the strength of the abused woman starting her life over with her children and a man who didn't think he wanted to deal with another woman as a fixture in his life. Are their feelings strong enough to battle the obstacles to their relationship?

An emotional, sometimes funny, often touching, steamy ride with a mix of the best and the worst people.

Another hit! The eighth book in the Single Dads of Seattle series, and boy oh boy is gonna knock your socks off.

I adore this series so much and I always look forward to the next one coming out!

Eva has lived through some of the worse things a woman and wife can live through. Finally free of her crazy abusive husband, she decides to have something she has never had before. A one night stand. A night of passion, abandonment lust with the handsome stranger.

Scott is a single dad, after his divorce with his wife who was too selfish and too stupid to realize what an amazing man Scott really was, he is caught off guard when he meets the curvy woman at the bar. After a lustful, wild and breathtaking night the mystery woman is gone, but the feelings she has stirred in him are not.

After some time they meet again...as yes....you’ve guessed it...neighbors. How will they react when the see each other again? Will their spark still flare? Read and find out!

As always the lovely Whitley conjures a intriguing story of love and hope with just the way right amount of sexy and steamy. 5 out of 5 stars!

"Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again."

It really seems like for each new book in this series, I come out the other side with a new single Dad favorite, and Scott is no exception. He actually would love to find someone to spend the rest of his life with, and he had this one time hookup with a woman named Eva, but by the time he woke up, she was gone. They had chemistry in spades & potential, so he's frustrated that he could never find her. However, fate stepped in for Scott, and that hook up that he could never get out of head, ended up being his neighbor, and single mom to boot. Eva has been burned by her ex, which is why she's wasn't willing to start anything new in the present, if ever, but Scott kept getting past her walls. This is another emotional with a big side of humor, and appearances from the other guys, so once again, it's the perfect read from the amazing Whitley Cox! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

While out on a night of letting loose these two broken hearts meet feel a connection and respond with a night of passion with no future expectations.
Like I said fate.
Finding themselves thinking of that night. Scott more than Ava.

New neighbors move in a single mother.
That night comes rushing back to Ava when shesees who she moved in next to.
But Ava has scars physical and mental.
Scott is the perfect medicine if she will just let him in.
The more time these two families spend together the more it looks like they're getting their HEA.
But plasts from the past intervene and bring danger to the neighborhood. Choices have to be made, trust needs to be formed and this new couple needs to be strong.
Read how Ava finally takes her life back and what extent Scott goes to for them all.

This is the eighth of ten books in this series. I love reading series like this where the characters keep reappearing in supporting roles. In this story, Liam's brother Scott meets a beautiful redhead in the bar where he is attending a bachelor party. Eve buys him, her hero, a drink and then invites him to meet her at her room in the hotel next door. Thirty minutes later he shows up with pizza, wine, and condoms. He slows her down and gets to know a little about 'just Eva.' However after a hot night, he wakes to find her gone with no way to contact her. She has drastically changed his life, especially his sexual desires. Imagine his surprise six weeks later to find her moving in right next door. Even better, his kindergartener falls into being best friends with her two sons his age. Her ex-husband though proves to be a very dangerous threat to Scott and Eva providing a read full of thrills, as Eva is introduced to the women who love the Single Dads. Yes, after much suffering relieved by hot sex, Cox brings us to a HEA ending!

Meeting Eva at a party and finding instant chemistry between them, Scott Dixon and she shared a one-night stand. Having used first names only and Eva disappearing before he woke, there was no further contact possible. But fate intervenes and his new neighbor is none other than Eva Marchand!

After all the abuse Eva has suffered, things are finally going right for her – until Scott’s VIP client turns out to be her cruel ex-husband. The danger is not over yet when her ex finds out she is seeing Scott. Will he drive them apart? Will he harm Eva? Or is everything over . . .

This was a wonderfully written story that freely shared the pain of the main characters and let the reader share in their gradual healing and love. But there was always the danger from her ex-husband that kept Eva fearful while trying to start her new life. The tension as he unfurls his anger at her once again will keep the reader racing through the pages to find out what happens. Is there happiness for Scott and Eva, or only tragedy when it’s over?
