Zac Bauermaster has created a book that will have positive impact on leaders and the people who makeup organizations. His brief, well-crafted stories and reflections present a concept that is critical for effective leadership. He then follows each with suggested journal prompts and additional resources. Since writing has been shown by research to promote both reflection and learning, Zac’s approach provides leaders with an effective manual for personal and professional development. As a reader, I found myself thinking of Zac as a mentor, revealing the secrets of leading people you care about in ways that let them know they are valued. It is a beautiful and influential book, and I hope a follow-up work is in process. Prepare to be guided by a leader who exemplifies leading with a humble heart.
