“‘Misery’ can’t be the last chapter in our story.”
Let me start by saying I loved the first Somnolence book, Raiden, will all my heart. I would have given it tens stars if I could have. It’s this perfect mixing of rockstar and more where I adored the two main characters, especially Raiden, and I never guessed what would happen next. I truly believe it set the bar so high that I think no future book can ever hope to reach.
So, I will admit, Trace isn’t as perfect as Raiden. Partly because I now know the secret and also because as wonderful as Trace is, he’s not Raiden.
That being said, Trace is still fantastic, both the book and the rocker. Instead of a ten stars this book is about an eight. Still much higher than the paltry five that’s the most I can give here. The story is filled with action, unexpected twists, tons of Emotion and lots of secrets, both good and bad.
Once again, no spoilers. Don’t read ANY reviews that tell you anything about the plot. Also, you really must read Raiden first. There’s too much you will just not understand unless you do. Ali doesn’t even try to include most of what happened in the first book, which I’m happy about. I really just wanted to get on with the next part.
Jonah is next. I have no idea how Ali is going to fix that mess and to be honest, I’m really not liking Lizzy and I’m ready for her to just go away and for Jonah to find someone worthy of him who will truly love him and make him happy. Lizzy is selfish, shallow and clearly doesn’t truly love him. He deserves so much better than her.
I’m most looking forward to Jumper. He’s been my favorite since day one. He might even be able to replace Raiden in my heart. I’m also hoping to get books for Bane (please, oh please!), Levi, Nix and even Renley. I see a long and exciting future for this series and I plan to be there every step of the way! This is the 2nd part of this incredible series, and this story continues straight on from when #1 ended. Vivi has a traumatic past, and while Trace is fighting his attraction for her, she is doing the opposite, and trying to connect with him whenever possible. Their journey is not an easy one, and Vivi becomes the target of texts and emails. This is a well written story which has secrets, suspense, challenges, danger, intrigue, and love, which leads to a heartfelt page turner, which is not for the faint-at-heart.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this continuation of the series with Trace and Vivi. He's fighting his connection with Vivi hard, and she's trying her best to connect with him anyway she can. Levi her bodyguard keeps the peace with them. But when a claiming goes partial wrong, it leaves things up in the air with the band. New threats strike and bring up Vivi's traumatic past. When the emails escalate it's time to bring in the big guns.

Trace and Vivi’s relationship sizzles in this novel. In the previous book in the series (Raidan) their relationship was tumultuous and their future unclear. As Trace changes his attitude towards Vivi the relationship becomes scorching and it translates well into the intimate scenes between the two. While they work through their issues Vivi is also struggling with her past and attempting to face that while also touring with the band. I am really excited to find out how Jonah fares with Lizzy in the next book!

Book 2 in this series which picks up straight after Raiden, make sure you have read this one first!
We know Vivi had a traumatic past, we also know that she wants Trace, but he did everything he could to put her off in the first book. In this one we eventually see them get together as a couple. Trace and his attitude towards Vivi and having a relationship with her changes and he becomes an adoring and protective mate, even going so far as trying to claim her, but this goes wrong, twice!
Their journey is not easy, especially as Levi has been involved with Vivi whilst Trace was keeping his distance, but Levi is also her bodyguard and cares deeply for her. He has always been there to pick up the pieces when Trace went off with someone else. But as soon as the claiming takes place Levi has to take a step back.
Vivi also starts receiving threatening texts and emails referring back to her traumatic past, putting her and the whole crew in danger. Not an easy read at times, take note of the trigger warning.

I loved it all. I was so angry with Trace in the beginning but once he accepted how he felt for Vivi it was so sweet seeing him change into a romantic.
I love how the group is a whole big family and grows as the story goes on.
I can't wait to see how the rest of the series goes.

Trace, book 2 of the Somnolence series, picks up right where book 1 of the series, Raiden, ends. It seamlessly transports us to viewing life from Vivi's perspective, I adore her. I always wanted to be a red head, wistful sigh. With Vivi's story, comes her challenges, highlights and secrets. It is not for the faint of heart, note the trigger warning, but it is heartfelt. Is it cheesy if I point out that it is fluid like love song?
Music is woven into the storyline so well, I forget I'm reading a book in the rockstar romance trope. Truthfully, if it wasn't Miss Ali writing this series, I may have skipped it. Gasp! I know right, they tell us not to judge a book by its cover...or in this case, it's trope. Shrug. It is, however, written by Miss Ali and I will always one-click her work.
She's that good and the journey Trace and Vivi take us on is messy, yo. Messy. It is also beautiful, musical, truthful, traumatic. Just. Like. Life.

This is part Two of an incredible series, in this book we focused more on Trace and Vivi. Vivi has a traumatic past, and Trace is doing everything possible to make her his. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy as Vivi gets plagued with violent texts and emails, it pushes her further from Trace. I loved how this book was filled with secrets, suspense, challenges, danger, intrigue, and love, which leads to a heartfelt page turner, Trace and Vivi’s relationship sizzles in this novel and I for one could not stop reading it

I thought the first Somnolence book was great. But I think Trace and Vivi’s story definitely pushed Raiden out of that fist spot and took residence. I love how fiercely Vivi loves and protects her friends and family. And once Trace finally lets himself love Vivi. I mean, what girl doesn’t want a man to love her like Trace loves Vivi?
