Mount Hood

Rate this book
Cory Van Doren is now a fugitive. He has become the very thing he has spent his life chasing, but there is one huge difference; Cory knows he is innocent. The only problem is that nobody believes him. Running out of time and answers, he must take one last stab at clearing his name.

Mount Hood is where everything changed for Cory seven years ago. It was there that his troubled twin brother dropped off the edge into oblivion. Cory has never returned—the memories are just too painful—but something at the back of his mind keeps drawing him to it.

Why has Medea Bishop vanished? What did Lorenzo Campbell mean when he said she worked with a man who looked just like Cory? Who can he turn to when every person in his life could potentially be an enemy? And what does a sane man do when everything he thought he knew about the world ceases to make sense?

Cory thought he had already hit rock bottom, but things are about to get a whole lot worse. Desperate and on the run from the law, his options have become almost zero. He needs to act fast though, because the game that is being played with his life feels like it is coming to its conclusion.

Can Cory solve the case before he gets arrested? Why does one last visit to Mount Hood feel so important? And if the one thing he thought impossible turns out to be true…

This one is even more warped and twisted than the previous ones, if possible. For me, it was even faster pace but I had to slow down my speedreading so I didn’t miss any clues. As if I could outguess…

The author slipped in the title reference so subtly and smoothly (almost as smooth as glass) that I almost missed it. The theme of twins works really well in this series as it did for ‘Single-minded’.

Totally wanna know what’s next!

I received this novel through ARC. Here is my review. Cory is still on the run, trying to clear his name. Well written, great characters and an interesting storyline. I only gave 4 stars as I'm not in favor of getting a book a few chapters at a time, it isn't affordable to me. Sure $.99 isn't much but it adds up. I don't expect I'll read any more of these, they aren't my cup of tea.. I'll wait for the full-size book!

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.
Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to read more of these.
Recommend reading.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Wow!! I don't post spoilers, ever....so, I'll just say that this one is above and beyond what's expected.
To say I read this one fast is an understatement. It seemed I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
You are in for a treat with this one. Each one has been exciting, but, this one brings into focus just how twisted people can be.

This was a different kind of series. Cory really was set up and he discovered it to late to save himself but in an odd way it gave him a chance at a new life. There were so many twists and turns to this story that it was surprising Cory figured any of it out.

You will never see it coming

Mr. Elliot has a wild imagination. This is a well spun yarn. The reader is like a reed in the wind. The story will move you in every direction. I did not see this ending coming. Loved it, you will also. Read and enjoy.

Wow, what a climatic closing episode.
Multiple twists and a twist on the final twist.
Had my full attention from the start and all the queries raised were finally answered.

Perfect Finish

Amazing finish to an amazing series. I couldn't get enough of these books, and Cory Van Doren is such an amazing character. Same goes for the side characters too.
