It's a suicide mission but Wick has a choice. He can abandon the mission and let the agent die. A tight-rope moral balancing act with Sam Wick at the pivot point.
From Chase Austin, the sensational author of Sam Wick thrillers comes another high-stakes episode featuring the world's most dangerous Sam Wick. Fans of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Ted Bell's Alex Hawke, Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, WEB Griffin's Killer McCoy, Stephen Hunter's Bob Lee Swagger, and Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne will love SAM WICK. ★★★★★ "One heck of an entertaining and intense ride... A nervous sniper, a kidnapped CIA agent a sketchy president. These are some of the problems Sam Wick encounters in Wicked Hunter by Chase Austin. This one should be read before Wicked Blood since the plot against America continues in that book. I find this series good but lack some kind of reading order. I like the basis for Sam Wick and are waiting for him to find out more about his background. Is "The Professor" involved?
Okay, down to business, the author is finding his writing chops and this well-plotted storyline is enjoyable to read. Well, another caveat, if you are squeamish, may not be your cup of tea. This is another entry that gets serious very quickly, and Sam actually reaches out to his go-to sharp-shooter buddy for help. We get additional details on Sam, a little more description of the scene and a more thorough introduction and description of the mission.
Definitely a more relaxed, cohesive writing style with points of interest well-described. Sam takes the time to plot out the mission control areas and timing, logistics and personnel. Set up more thoroughly, the storyline lays out smoothly although you are still actively ignoring some disbelief. A quotable I liked: "Master your breath, master your mind."
Unfortunately, again, an ARC rift with edit misses that is hoped were found and corrected prior to publication.
With the third entry to the series and the improvement noted, it would appear that these might continue to be of interest to those who enjoy a fast and furious read, no-holds barred type of action. A throw-back to more pulp fiction days of novella size, just read for fun. 4/5 stars
Director NSA, Helms, gets interrupted on a rare day off. There is a request for one of his men to rescue a CIA agent who has been scooped up in the general area of the Helmand Province.
So why ask for assistance from a small specialized team, when roughly 30 CIA agents are in the area? And the President agrees.
Those with boots on the ground hear of imminent threat of danger, can Helms make himself heard before worse comes to pass.
Wick is on the job, so if the agent can be saved, he will retrieve him.
Unexpected betrayals on many sides.
A suspense and action packed KU thriller that promises trouble has only just begun.
I read this story on Kindle Unlimited. I bought or borrowed other books from this author from Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. I also received an advance copy from Booksprout.
Biggest problem? I read too fast, so now I have to wait for the next book to find out the next twist!
Strap yourself in. It's going to be one hell of a ride! Another fast-paced, action-packed Sam Wick thriller.
A CIA operative, undercover as a journalist in Afghanistan, is taken captive. The CIA doesn't want to risk a rescue operation, so ask the NSA to recruit Wick for the mission. Given a twelve-hour deadline, Wick and his sniper buddy, Eddie, head out to try to rescue the operative. Chase Austin brings you to Afghanistan in a way that you are feeling the heat of the desert and hearing the gunfire around you. I can't wait for the next Sam Wick story.
Another edge of your seat thriller. Wick has been in Afghanistan for several months completing missions. He is alerted that a CIA operative posing as a CNN journalist has been kidnapped. His new task is to find and rescue him because the CIA is not going after their own. Torture scenes not for the squeamish! The story ends rather abruptly but does set up the next sequel.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.
Action packed thriller that Pitts Sam Wick against Taliban on their home turf. Each side successive Sam Wick book has gotten more intense and Wicked Hunter is no different. Mr. Austin has included a bit of unfinished business in this book that leaves the reader hoping that the third Sam Wick book is right around the corner. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.
Great read, plot was innovative and absorbing. The story was credible from my knowledge of American beaurocracy/politics. Really looking forward to next episode /sequel to see who gets their just desserts. A 4.5/5 is well deserved.

This absolutely satiates my Simon "Ghost" Riley from CoD obsession in the best way possible.
I've never jumped in mid series before (sorry, I just read this one because I found at a thrift store) but the story still worked and I enjoyed it thoroughly and can't wait to start the next one
The series are getting better & better. Sam Wick is a great character. Well written, page turner , full of action and adrenaline. Love it. Good job. I received a copy and voluntary leaving a review.
If you like fast action with all the bad guys killed, then you will love this book. It is a fast paced read and lots of action. I now find myself becoming a "Wick" enthusiast. Wick is the main character and he is a real killer. A great new black ops hero. Loved it.
I started and finished Wicked Hunter in just a few hours. Simply put...OUTSTANDING! I did not put this book down for any reason other than to eat! Keep em coming!
Totally 5 stars. The best of the Wick series yet. Wick is so smart. The way he analyzes his surroundings and perception is just flawless. I guess that's why he is still alive. Touche right? Im thinking that this books totally is right on pretty much what happens by the Talibans. Omg Ive watched so many movies with the kidnapping and torcher and killings of Americans in other countrys. This book sure is right on. Great job again Chase! Hoping to read the next book up. Thanks for a great read. Totally a page turner and packed with suspence with a few twists. Recommend to everyone who likes a good thriller that keeps you reading to the very last page without putting the book down. Recieved as an ARC here I leave my unbiased opinionated review.
I have always loved these secret government assassins taking on these impossible missions but something about the Sam Wick series makes me love them even more. In Wicked Hunter you follow more behind the scenes political aspects of this group but trust me you are not bored to death. As Sam and his teammate move into to this mission..they so happily signed up for...you are right there with them. I caught myself holding my breath as though I was also hiding with Wick. Chase Austin does an amazing job painting the scenes for you and those fight scenes are perfectly orchestrated!
In this book Sam Wick get a call from his boss saying a CIA agent as been kidnapped in Afghanistan where he is currently on a mission. The job to save the agent looks impossible and the President calls up and says it's got to be done. A well written book which at the end carries on in the next book in this series.
Another amazing episode in the Sam Wick universe: more action, more adventure, more literary adrenaline pouring off the pages. Sam Wick is an independent and skilled operator. I'm anxiously awaiting more episodes and antics of Sam Wick - and his very few but very skilled colleagues (yes, this is a shout-out to superb sniper Eddie). Can I convince someone to make a movie or TV series?
Another great adventure with Sam Wick. Following Sam and his backup,Eddie on this adventure keeps the reader on the edge of his chair. There is always the possible problem popping up that keeps Sam wary while he tackles his current mission. There are many tense moments and extreme torture to keep the pages turning to the very end.
No one would call this great literature. There’s a need for further editing. Sam Wick is a one-man army who acts decisively and ruthlessly with bloody efficiency. Sad that there’s a necessity for operatives such as this in our world. The people in authority do not come off looking well in all this.
I really enjoy reading stories of the super skilled and trained men and women of our country. Saddened that we need them but so appreciative that they are there. If you enjoy reading stories of our heroes then you are in for a treat. Four stars for a well written and researched story. Read and enjoy.
The author is always to the point. No unwanted descriptions of nature, situations, minor unwanted details, that's makes the reading very exciting. None of his books are cumbersome to read. The plots are realistic. The Sam Wick character helps with a lot of catharsis. I love reading Chase Austin's books.
I recd this book free from the author in return for my honest review. I loved this book. Sam Wick is the man. This book was fast paced and on the edge of your seat reading. Wasn’t crazy about the ending so I can’t wait for the next book. I would definitely recommend this book. Love this series.
Third entry in the Sam Wick saga. Thrilling action and drama to that you won't be able to put down until you finish it. Normally I don't enjoy novels about terrorist action , too close to reality, but this series is exceptional and should not be overlooked.
I have really taken a solid liking to the Sam Wick character. A no nonsense action hero. The story is believable if maybe all his actions are not. But what the heck. Let yourself go, believe in the abilities and enjoy the book.
Wow, non stop action. I could not put this book down - I will now start the next book, Wicked Blood. A huge pat on the back for the author Chase Austin. A well deserved 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Another great Sam Wick thriller! A good character with an interesting story, a little surprise at the end too! Would recommend for a holiday read! A good way to escape or pass the time on the beach!
TF-77 agent Sam Wick is an almost superhuman cross between Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt - and Wicked Hunter definitely seems like a plot from Mission Impossible.
Our hero and his sniper Eddie have to risk life and limb, not knowing whom they can trust besides themselves, to complete a 'black ops' covert mission in Afghanistan's Taliban-controlled territory, by rescuing CIA Agent Josh Fletcher.
Chase Austin skillfully creates a tense plot, that will have you screaming inwardly at the risks Wick has to take throughout the 2nd non-stop, all-action book, Wicked Hunter, in his Sam Wick Universe series.
Shoot off to your nearest bookstore today and get under cover with Chase Austin's Sam Wick, for the adventure of a lifetime and a chance to help him save the US from the latest Armageddon - you know you want to!
It's the third book in the Sam Wick series. Just like the previous books, it doesn't disappoint the reader one bit. It's quite thrilling. It's about Sam and Eddie's attempt to rescue a CIA agent from the Taliban.
