Manga creator ONE first created One-Punch Man as a web comic, where it quickly went viral, garnering over 10,000,000 hits! Along with One-Punch Man, ONE also writes and draws another series called Mob Psycho 100.
Lots of Saitama and early gives this a bump up. There are some fun moments with Class A heroes trying to help save Waganma, like Food Battler Futoshi, and Sekingar really steps up as a field general. Flashy Flash feels like a lot of the other Class S heroes and is pretty uninspiring here, but Drive Knight? There are LOTS of questions still about who the leak is inside the Hero Organization, but Drive Knight some how gives us even more. It's one of the more interesting plot points in a book that isn't too have heavy on them. Also, GENOS! My guy is back and better than ever. This is the first book in a while that has me eager for the next installment. Garo is about to throw down with Superalloy Blackluster after brutalizing Puri-Puri Prisoner.
A fun as always glimpse at the misery and struggle of heroes against powerful foes while Saitama teams up with Flashy Flash in hopes to find their way straight to the boss of bosses!
Frankly embarrassing that I continue to rate these above 2 stars given how objectively Not Good they have become. Already written ad nauseum about how baffling the narrative direction of Volumes 16 onwards is, but it’s crazy to see the misses here. Garo’s return is so bad I genuinely am in disbelief - the big important villain brought back with almost zero build-up or ceremony. And ending your Volume on a filler fight between Child Emperor (why are we still focusing on him?!) only highlights just how empty the skirmishes have become. We’ve come so far from the early chapters’ episodic structure and ‘everyday’ backdrop that it’s hard to remember where the series started, but the flatness of these sections (coupled with the Bonus Chapter that harkens back to early-day OPM) makes that gulf apparent once more.
But then, I do still like Murata’s spectacle. I like seeing Saitama and Genos again - not just for the familiarity, but because their presence sharpens a slackening story. I like the energy and invention, and Volume 25 keeps up the pace nicely in that department.
I had a rough day at work today, and One Punch Man ended up being a nice reprieve. Sometimes, that’s enough.
Ah. Garo is back. Another S class finding the truth about Saitama. I did like Flashy flash and Saitama's team up, he started off so seriously. Nyaan was probably the coolest monster. The guy on the surface was pretty impressive, but overshadowed by Drive knight. The MVP was defo F. Genos finally getting into the fight.

Much better. Getting back into the plots we’re invested in! So I know it’s still being written, but damn it’s feeling like with this many heroes down we’re gearing up to the Big Bad battle. Also, I’m still keeping my eyes on you Drive Knight 👀
I welcomed some saitama at the beginning, but this one didn't do it for me a lot, despite some reveals on a possible traitor amidst the hero association.
Problem is I'm almost caught up now, I don't want to read them too fast. Only 2 printed volumes left.
Just as a warning to sensitive readers this series may be rated Teen but it has never been shy about tight clothses and sometimes even partial nudity for neither males or females so be aware that if such things offend you this series might upset you. There are also times where violence results in death with some gore though this is not necessarily a main focus as this series mixes humor with action quite often.
With the discovery of Garo, Puri-Puri Prisoner is in for a surprise upon is awakening by how strong he has become. In this volume we also see Superalloy Blackluster is about to step up to the challenge of the hero hunter, Saitama joining forces with Flashy Flash (as seen on the cover). a variety of heroes facing off against the dangerously unstable Nyaan to save young Waganma, as well as Drive Knight, Child Emperor, and Genos getting in some action as the hero versus monster battle royal continues on.
Poor Flashy Flash...his ego is getting a bit trampled by Saitama. I like how he blamed his failure on subconsciously holding back against a weak opponent :D And of course Saitama has no idea he already annihilated Orochi (bath monster, in his mind) and is wandering lost with Flashy looking for the big boss.
TBH, the heroes get roughed up a bit too much to really be sustainable. The support team took a lot of damage and it's hard to see how they could recover in a reasonable time frame, considering how active the monsters are. Even Metal Bat and Tank Top are still hospitalized and sitting this mission out...not exactly useful.

Puri-Puri Prisoner makes one of the most terrible mistakes in the entire series within this issue....releases Garu from prison in the Monster Association HQ!?!? This volume includes a ton of heroes going well beyond thier capabilities to fend off evil. Who comes to the rescue when needed most??? Genos!!! Clutch fighting and action make this book fly by. Very enjoyable...but has you badly wanting the next volume to be released! But that's a good thing if your a fan of the series...to impatiently wait for the next released volume.
Anyway, this last arc has been very intense and fun. I´m now officially up-to-date with the manga volumes (at least in Mx).
So far my favourites: 1- Genos 2- Saitama 3- Child Emperor 4- Garou 5- Zombie man 6- King 7- Atomic Samurai disciples trio 8- The whole gang of supporting heroes (they are totally worth a spin off series) 9- Sonic 10- Bang
One thing I really like about the series is that even the action scenes are entertaining. Unlike other series, like Bleach where are the action scenes just seem to eat a lot of pages without a lot of substance, the humor of the series really shines in the combat making it worth your time to see all the details and enjoy the fight. I still wish the volumes were longer, but they are still solid.

Flashy Flash what a name Genos for the rescue And we have the child emperor again
I just want to read a manga about a hero living with the terrible ennui of knowing that he can defeat any villain with one punch so there's no challenge in his life, but Saitama is barely in the book that's named after him. This has evolved into a very generic superhero story with generic heroes fighting generic monsters while generic villains plot and scheme in the background.
This actually felt like a decent bit of action adventure after all the endless low-grade humour about dumb heroes fighting dumb monsters earlier in this story arc. The LACK of humour was an advantage.
Then again, that's not really enough to make it better than three stars. Just a better three stars than recently.
What can I say that I haven't said before, One-Punch Man is funny with consistently great artwork! It's always a treat whenever I see Saitama having fun, and unknowingly making fun of other heroes' powers. Drive Knight being put in the spotlight is yet another fresh element in the ever-growing roster of heroes whose powers are revealed.
The Monster Association plotline is finally picking up some traction again and piquing my interest. Some of the panels of action scenes felt a bit too disconnected and lost clarity of the scene for me in this one. I'm just glad this series is so easy to pick back up again. It's been a few years since I put it down.
I am honestly torn between wanting all the other characters to figure out how OP Saitama actually is, and wanting them to remain oblivious so I can chuckle in my head as these heroes talk patronizingly to basically Cthulhu.
Wonderful and hysterical - filled with laughs, dry wit and appealing illustrations. This installment brings Saitama face to face with Flashy Flash, who just want's to ditch the awkward hero. And Garou! My favorite villain reappears after taking an installment sabbatical (chained to a wall).
Saitama!!! It feels like it has been forever since we've seen him show up for more than a small cameo. Also Genos is back! I'm so happy! Because of how long it has been in between me reading these volumes, I don't really know if the snitch has been previously revealed or not..
Puri-Puri Prisoner comes across Garo the hero hunter who is not stronger than ever and easily defeats him. Meanwhile Saitama is wondering around k and Flash hears someone so he goes to attack but it is only Saitama so he easily dodges which shocks Flash as how can anyone be as fast as him.
