They call him Lucifer for his wild side.

She called him the man she loved, she called him Luke. But then he proved he really is worthy of his nickname. Or so she thought. Nothing is as it seemed back then.

A man with a past. The only woman he has ever loved. Someone wants her dead. That someone is about to find out that yes, he is Lucifer when you dare to threaten his woman. Even if she doesn't call herself that now. He does. But all he ever really wanted to be was Luke—the man worthy of her love.

Book one in the Lucifer Trilogy.

Lucifer's Trilogy is a Tall, Dark, and Deadly and Walker Security trilogy, but all three books can be read together without reading the previous series.

Love this new series with Walker Security. Luke is complicated and simmering hot! Can’t wait to get to the next part!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have read Jones’ books for many years now and the Walker Security guys is one of my favorite series. If you have read them before, you may remember Luke, aka Lucifer. Quiet, hot, and not to be messed with. I was looking forward to this series!
Jones creates yet another twisted masterpiece of suspense, mystery and burning romance. Lucifer’s Sin is ripe with broken hearts, pain, mistrust, questionable partners, and tension. Simmering heat coupled with deep love is at its core. But issues surrounding Luke’s past fiancée places them on the run with few to trust and less to go on.
Jones know how to write suspenseful stories that raise your blood pressure page by page. She navigates the delicate balance of suspense and romance perfectly. She captures your attention and winds you up. Then you get a cliffhanger….
Such is life with a trilogy! Impatiently awaiting book 2! This is a great start to this series! Cannot wait for more of the story.
I am deeply uninterested in reading about a second chance romance, wherein the hero was sleeping with the whole country while they were apart.
Meanwhile, the heroine remained CELIBATE.
Either they were BOTH celibate, or both of them explored other options. Equally.
The double standard is deeply boring to me. And your book is gonna get a 1 star from me every time...
Oh my gosh!!! This book has just ricocheted to the top of my favorite LJR books ever!
Lucifer is the type of hero that I can really get behind. He’s fierce, protective, loyal but inside his heart is wounded and the possibility of it ever being healed is nil. I loved watching him interact with his coworkers as well as Ana. While he is determined to keep her safe, he also respects her abilities.
May be a closeup of 1 person, indoor and body of water
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Ana. I’m not a big fan of kicka** heroines as they often are too rough and gruff. Ana, however, was more than capable of taking care of business, while allowing her heart to feel. She had a softer side and while it took some time to start to see it, this author created her in a way that I was soon connecting with her as my heart hurt for her loss.
Lucifer and Ana set the page on fire when they allow themselves to reach out to each other. Unfortunately, they have some serious baggage from their combined past. How does a couple even attempt to overcome this kind of issue? The angst and turmoil starts pretty high and I could not stop reading until the last page. And then BAM! Literally. The cliffhanger I knew was coming but had no idea it was going to dangle me off the edge like that!
LUCIFER'S SIN was non stop action and heat right from the very first page. I love the world that Lisa Renee Jones has created with the men of Walker Security and this addition is off to a great start.
Lucifer may be fairly new to the Walker Security team but he's been with these men long enough that they will go to the ends of the earth and hunt down anyone that is looking to do him harm. So when he gets a call from an old friend telling him that there's a hit list and his name is on it moments before he's killed, it's no surprise that Adam and Savage head out with him to find out what is going on.
Lucifer and Ana's story proves just how thin the line is between Love and Hate, and their backstory is one you wont want to miss because MAN OH MAN it's one for the books...quite literally. I like Ana but she had me shaking my head a time or two in this first installment of the trilogy. The chemistry between the two is great they just need to work past a few tiny little things before they can get what they each want...and if you couldn't tell that was total sarcasm because they have a WHOPPER of past to work through before they can move forward.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Steamy Romantic Suspense Reads, Second Chance At Love Romances, or Enemies to Lovers Romances.
Happy Reading!!!
Nothing really happened. It's repetitive in a lot of parts. And I doubt I'll read the other books in the trilogy.
You know it's real love when he is willing to die to protect you even after you shoot him! Crazy as it sounds, that's what I love to read in a Hero. I want him to love and protect you even if he shouldn't. I actually really like the heroine as well. After you hear her story, you understand how everything all got blown up between these two. I'm excited to see these two find their way.
I have received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Lucifer's Sin may be the first book in Lucifer's Trilogy but it's not the first book to introduce Walker Security. This, of course, was mentioned to me briefly by a GR friend (thank you Cécile!) and after I already read the book. It's highly hilarious that I never heard of the original series until a couple of days ago and now I have the urge to jump into the very first book.
Okay, maybe it's just funny to me.
In this, you will meet Lucifer and Ana. Now these two had delicious banter that I couldn't get enough of. I basically looked forward to it in almost every scene that they were in. In all honesty, I couldn't keep the pages from turning fast enough. Especially when we got to certain twists and turns.
Even when drama unfolds and I'm highly suspicious of things, I just wanted to know how it was all going to end. Which, yes, the dreaded cliffhanger came and stabbed me right in the heart. I hate the unknown and loathe the waiting period between books entirely. I guess I will just sit and suffer until the next book crawls my way.
I found this one in my library while cleaning out books i bought and don’t intend to read,and decided it was time to see i made the right choice back then to buy it.
It starts out good,builds up the suspense well,and with flashbacks shows what happened in the past to explain why Lucifer and Ana are where they are today.
One thing i didn’t like though…..during their time apart,Lucifer slept around,supposedly to “fuck her out of his system”,but at the same time was upset at the thought she might have slept with other men…..
That really didn’t sit well in my book at all, and made it lose 1 star for me.
Let’s see what book 2 brings…..
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Lucifer’s Sin is the first book of the Walker Security: Lucifer’s Trilogy. This is my first time reading the author's work. I can’t believe it took me so long to read her work, despite having a few of her books on my kindle. Now, after this introduction, I need to pick up her other books.
Lucifer’s Sin was an awesome start to the Trilogy that tells the story of Luke, aka Lucifer, and Ana. Now four years ago, Ana and Lucifer met, fell in love and eventually were engaged to be married. Two years into their relationship, tragedy struck and life for them was never the same. Ana couldn’t reconcile her love for Luke/Lucifer with her hate for his part in the tragic events. Hurt by her lack of trust, Luke left, ending their relationship. However, the murder of one of their colleagues opened a big can of worms.  Luke learnt of a hit on Ana’s life and now he will stop at nothing to protect the only woman he ever loved.
Lucifer’s Sin was an absolutely delightful read. Chock-full of emotions, suspense and action, I slipped into the story with ease. I quickly fell for Lucifer and Ana and hoped they would work through their issues amidst the danger they faced. I enjoyed the flashbacks, which provided insight into their relationship and the events that led to their current situation.
Their reunion was intense, and the attraction between them sizzled and popped. Without a doubt, they loved each other, but issues from the past proved to be stumbling block.
The introduction of the secondary characters left me wanting to go back and read their stories. They gave the story depth and made things so much more interesting. I loved how Lucifer’s crew had his back and, by extension, Ana. I enjoyed being in this world and can’t wait to visit again.
Lucifer’s Sin delivered a passionate and suspenseful story that would appeal to fans of romantic suspense.
Right from the start we know who it was that brought Lucifer to his knees. Surprisingly, we also find out how and why. So, that’s not the mystery here. What is? Who has a hit list and why.
Luke and Ana are explosive. They combust from the minute that they are in each other’s presence and old memories and feelings are fueling the chemistry that just oozes off the pages. Add the mystery with the sexual tension and you have no idea where these two are going to end up.
Surprisingly, LRJ, right from the start, clued us in to where this story was going to go. A love gone bad (and the reason why) … a hit list of all the players that were involved with the love going bad. What we don’t know is who or why the past is coming back to bite them.
Throwing them into situations that will either get them to trust each other again or tear them apart at the seams. And, as usual, she has us questioning every little thing. Is Trevor really dead? Who was Darius working with? What really happened to Kurt. Does this all lead back to her brother?
Again, more questions than answers. But, that’s why we read Lisa Renee Jones. She keeps us on our toes, engaged in the story. It also doesn’t hurt that this is Walker Security and several of our favorites are back and in the middle of the mess right with Lucifer and Ana. Yes, there is a cliff hanger but not one that totally has you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering who is dead or alive.
I was given a copy of this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review and well, I don't have a lot of nice things to say unfortunately.
I found the story to be incredibly repetitive. We know Lucifer killed Ana's brother but it's brought up in almost every single chapter and the book ends with zero answer as to what happened. There were a lot of flashbacks to the past which is fine but it was the same situation over and over again. I think the fact that the book ends on a cliffhanger combined with the repetition says to me that this could have been one book instead of a drawn out trilogy. I have zero desire to continue the series from here.
Lucifer’s Sin is the first book in the Walker Security Series: Lucifer's Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. It’s been a long time since I picked up a novel revolving around the fighting crime trope. If I’m being completely honest, this is one of my least favorite tropes, only because I feel the stories are often similar. But lately, I’ve been feeling the need to sink my teeth into a tale where good meets evil. Lisa Renee Jones brought so much to this novel!! Being a new to me author, I decided to see what she had to bring to the table. When I first read the blurb, I knew I needed this one in my hands and eventually on my shelf! After reading Lucifer’s Sin, all I can say is I need more Luke and Ana!! Holy hell, these two are fire and gasoline! Damn you, Lisa Renee Jones for leaving me with that brutal cliffhanger!!!! AH, I can’t wait to see the trouble with these two build and escalate!
There was once a happily ever after in store for Luke and Ana. And then tragedy erupted and blew their happily ever after sky high. The night that everything went south has haunted both Ana and Luke for years. Caught up in lies and betrayal, shit escalated and Ana found herself looking down the barrel of a gun she had pointing at Luke. With one pull of her trigger finger, she set her cards in this game of betrayal face up on the table.  Oh my heart! Throughout this novel, one thought kept entering my mind… that thought being WHY!? My heart went back and forth with all the emotions Lisa Renee Jones threw at me! One minute I’m sitting here hoping for the most epic of happily ever after, and then the very next I’m sitting here thinking the worst is going to happen, because lets face the facts, if somebody shot me, I wouldn’t be able to come back from that!.. But the more I read, the more I realized situations that occurred in the past, may not have necessarily played out the way my mind made them seem… and herein lies a spoiler so I’ll stop talking about this particular moment.
Now the two find themselves on the same side of a fight that could very well end with both of their deaths. A hit list is the main concern; A hit list where Ana and Luke are the main two points of interest.. Luke will do everything in his power to see Ana is protected, but still questions and theories plague his mind. And considering what he did in the past to protect her, he’ll keep his thoughts and his predictions to himself this time. And honestly, I couldn’t blame the man for his ill feelings towards the woman who still held his heart in the palm of her hand… This man is a force to be reckoned with… but when that force is met with a force of equal power… shit get’s real!  I loved the fact that these once lovers now sworn enemies are being forced on the run in close proximity with one another. I loved the fact that they are being forced to work their shit out and talk about the why’s and not focus on the what ifs…. This novel brought the DRAMA… and you already know I live for the drama in romance novels! And don’t even get me started on the extreme levels of sexual tension flowing from these two! They still feel that passion from all those years ago. Holy inferno!
Okay, now it’s time for full honesty on why I dropped a star on my rating for Lucifer’s Sin by Lisa Renee Jones. In all honesty, I had a bit of trouble getting into this novel at the start. In fact, I was almost to the twenty-five percent mark before I actually started feeling an interest in these characters…. But the moment that intrigue hit me, I was done for and you couldn’t pay me to put this one down. So the beginning was a bit slow for me, but through and through I enjoyed the rest of the seventy-five percent of the novel! Ana and Luke had my heart reeling and craving for more! Now I’m sitting here trying my hardest not to count down the days until I get the second book to their story (Lucifer’s Touch) in my hands!
I know I said this before, and I’ll easily say it again, if you’re the type of reader who loves suspense and crime fighting vibes in your romances I recommend this one to you all. And as I said above, the first quarter was hard for me to get into, but once I passed those lines, I was all in! Now I need more!
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note 2: This is a trilogy. Please read in order, as the first and second books in the trilogy end in cliffhangers.
Note 3: There is a prequel to Lucifer's Sin - called Lucifer's Beginning. It will give you more context to Ana and Luke's story (oops lucifer). I know some people were complaining about not knowing a whole lot about them, but now they can. So go read it now before you read this one!
Trigger Warnings: betrayal, murder, deceit, violence, abuse, assault, abduction, drug/alcohol abuse, shootouts.
Oh look at that, a regular romantic suspense coming in!
Ana and Lucifer (sorry hehe about thinking about calling you Luke) have had their share of problems and have avoided each other like the bubonic plague or maybe they were keeping 5m distance per the covid-19 guidelines.
Until one fine day, when Lucifer realizes that his past has actually caught up to his girl, Ana and he needs to rescue her if he wants her alive and well, and say a few things *singing* that they should've said.
Obviously, Lucifer and Ana are both trained to be one with violence, either to help people or kill them. And as time passes, they realize that they work together romantically too, all is not lost. So despite their share of problems, they were meant to be. And boy does fate let them know it, and so do his teammates Savage and Adam (side note: can we please get their stories too - you're killing me here).
Aside from the wonderful steam, romance, banter and action from our MCs, the side characters are also tons of fun, and made me wanna wish that I could stay with them forever, but alas - it was not meant to be. The suspense was thrilling and I was on the edge of my very seat as we came to that ugh I can't believe you did this to me again Lisa - cliffhanger. The action was all too intriguing and kept making me root for my favorite couple to win. The pacing was as always fabulous and kept me zipping throughout the book and not losing sight of the important matters too - which made the plot even more so intriguing.
So I'd like to say, that overall, LRJ has once again won me over, heart and mind, and I cannot wait for the next book - Lucifer's Touch - coming April 19th 2022.
Until the next read,
-TMR
This was such a terrific change of pace for me. Loved this action-packed romantic thriller.
Lucifer and Ana were engaged, but have now been estranged for two years. The circumstances surrounding the break up of two people who are still very much in love is fascinating. And the way the Jones drops breadcrumbs of their past leaves you panting for more!
These two are trained to stay alive in the most brutal of circumstances and their training is proving useful and someone is out to kill them. The mad respect that Lucifer has for Ana’s skills is so wonderful. I just love a capable heroine in romance stories.
Because their lives are in danger and the adrenaline is flowing, so are the hormones. Lucifer and Ana cannot keep their hands off each other, despite their emotional past. The angst is high in this one, not gonna lie. I don’t know how you move past all the trauma, but if two people can do it, these two can.
This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire way through. You are rooting for Ana and Lucifer to just make it out of all this danger alive. Cannot wait for the second book!!
I received an early reader copy from the author and these are my hones opinions.
I loved how fast paced this was and that the cliff hanger wasn’t too bad! I’m excited to continue reading about Lucifer and Ana because they’re story has been so intriguing.
I liked the suspense and the on the run aspect of this book and that their relationship hasn’t fully developed. Ana is a bad bitch that can hold her own, but I love how much Lucifer protects her.
One thing I felt was mentioned too much was Lucifer getting shot, but other than that I really enjoyed!
This is my first book by Lisa Renee Jones, so I had no idea what to expect. But damn! Talk about a writer who can create seriously real sexual tension and keep you glued to the pages until finally the deed is done!
Lucifer and Ana are thoroughly enjoyable characters with a past. I loved them both and their chemistry.
Ana is an independent, strong woman, and Lucifer is tough, strong, and sexy as hell. 😮‍💨 These two have some seriously obstacles to overcome, and when they do and finally get horizontal together… fireworks! 🙆🏻‍♀️
I highly recommend it for fans of light romantic suspense and witty contemporary romance. Great banter, amazing sexual tension, humor, sexy times and suspense. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
4.5/5⭐️!!! Fast paced, action, strong + badass characters, and lovers to enemies with SO MUCH tension.
This book had me hooked from the first few chapters and I knew I was going to love the story and characters. AND the sexual tension between Lucifer and Ana ughhh!!! I love how quick of a read this was especially since I was so into the plot. As well as how strong the characters are and seeing them together even after everything that’s happened in their past. One of my favorite things in books are dual povs which this has so I loved seeing both of their thoughts and reactions to things as well as flashbacks to the past which offers so much good insight onto who they are. I cannot wait to read the next book especially after that ending because I need to know what happens next!!
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the first of a trilogy of books telling us Lucifer's story - so be ready for a bit of a cliffhanger! I have read many of the Walker Security books, so was well grounded in the organisation and its ways of working. I think you would pick it up even if a newbie - but I would not be surprised if you add the original books to your TBR!
The story moves back and forward in time a little, as we get to meet Luke/Lucifer and understand his previous relationship with Ana, and why it ended - a very dramatic reason! Now a mutual danger brings them back together, and the level of mistrust is pretty strong, but then so is the level of lust/possibly love.
We learn quite a lot of key issues, and others are merely hinted at... but obviously more is to be revealed. I enjoyed the plotting, the complications and the situations which the duo find themselves in. Ana is a strong character, who gives as good as she gets, and yet her levels of guilt, anger and confusion are high - once you know what happened, you will empathise.
I am really looking forward to seeing how this plays out and was really happy to be back with the guys of Walker Security again.
Lucifer's Sin is the first of Lucifer's Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. This honest review is in exchange for an arc and is not paid.
LRJ drops the reader right into the action, which is always appreciated. Luke, aka Lucifer, and a Walker Security contractor, has been given a warning that his ex-fiancee and FBI agent, Ana, is on a hitlist. Their history is complicated. They have a lot of history, distrust, and anger between them. They also have sizzling heat, instant attraction, and complicated feelings as they are both hurt from the past.
Ana is a kick-ass heroine, an agent but highly skilled on top of that due to her step-father. She is a perfect match for alpha-male Lucifer, who respects her talents, even if he challenges her. This book is fast-paced, well written, and literally leaves you wanting more as there is a bit of a cliffhanger.
If you are craving a second chance romance, enemies to lovers, romantic suspense kind of thrill, you will be happy with this book. It was a sexy, action-filled diversion from my typical erotic romances!
Lucifer's Sin mixes the present with the past, especially when Lucifer and Ana meet again, under fairly bad circumstances. There is a lot of action, and a big mystery, too. Lucifer knows he needs to do whatever it takes first to save Ana, then to make sure she stays alive. Ana however, is no damsel in distress, she's fully capable of fighting her own dragons - and winning!
I really enjoyed this new story in the Walker series, even if it's about other characters. I enjoyed Ana, both because she's a capable, strong woman, and because she's a bit confused when it comes to her feelings for Lucifer.
Lucifer is the ultimate alpha, I'm pretty sure he's still keeping a secret, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next novel.
This was pretty good. This gave us a good background on Lucifer and Ana and hopefully sets us up for some good action in the next one. There was a lot of push and pull between them, and I totally get why. I loved the flashbacks.
Be warned - this ends on a cliffhanger.
