Carly Phillips kicks off the new year with a brand new series and this first book is a fantastic start!
Sebastian Knight is the third out of four siblings, with two older brothers, Ethan and Parker and a baby sister, Sierra. They all work together in the family business Knight Time Technology. Sebastian has always been the closer for the company, but he's also always been the one who has never had a serious relationship in his life and he's not interested in settling down. The one woman who he might have been interested in and out of his life by the time he was eighteen and he hasn't seen her in years.
Ashley Easton is as independent as they come and not necessarily because she wants to be. Her father died when she was young and from then on, her mother jumped from man to man looking for the next one to take care of her. When Ashley's mom married the Knight siblings father, she finally had a family until an incident caused her to head off to boarding school leaving behind the boy who had been her sounding board and the one she wanted more than her next breath, Sebastian.
When Ashley returns to the States, she comes back to help a friend, but knows she's going to come face to face with Sebastian. She still holds quite a grudge for the part he played in her ending up in boarding school and while she'll try to be civil, she doesn't want to interact with him if she doesn't have to. When the two reconnect and have to work together to solve a problem with Knight Time Technology, it's clear there is still a connection, but will she be able to put the past behind them?
I absolutely devoured this book! It was one I did not want to put down because I had to find out what happened. The story was well developed and the characters were all likable and easy to connect with. This was a great start to this new series and I can't wait to see what Carly Phillips has in store for the remaining siblings!
I can always be guaranteed a good read when it comes to Carly’s writing and stories♥️
I fell in love with Sebastian & Ashley. I’m looking forward to getting more to this series and the Knight brothers!!!!
Young and in love but torn apart due to timing and age, Years later paths cross and you find that the chemistry has not gone away. No matter how much you fight the attraction, you can’t deny yourself the chance on life changing fun. But how far do you go to risk your soul, to give up your life and give it to someone you’ve always had a connection to?!? At what risk do you hand over your heart to be held in the palms of that special someone.
Sweet, very swoon-worthy, and I’m excited to watch these two grow in the continued series♥️
Take Me Again by Carly Phillips....What an outstanding start to a new series....Way to go Carly... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Sebastian Knight ..one of the Knights and a man who does not believe in attachments...female that is.. Ashley Easton ...she was in the Knights' home for a short while when her mom married his dad...Then she was sent away to school.... When Ethan the oldest Knight has a crisis she comes back to help him. This is all I'm telling... There are so many feelings..good and bad... tears...laughs ... drama...and steamy sex all leading to a very HEA. I can't wait for the next book TAKE ME TONIGHT.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read Great world building Entertaining Funny Steamy Tear-jerker Page-turner Wonderful characters Romantic Happily Ever After
A great start to a brand new series! 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, book one in Carly Phillips’ 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐾𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝐵𝑟𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠 series, is a swoony second chance romance that will have you turning the pages at lightening speed! Sebastian is gorgeous and arrogant, the must have makings of a great romance hero. Ashley is a fantastic heroine. She has this strength about her that’s easy to admire. Even with the animosity on Ashley’s side, the chemistry is scorching hot and undeniable. The tension alone will have you begging for more!
This steamy, charming, and emotional romance will not be easy to put down. I finished it in one sitting and it was everything I’ve come to expect and love from Phillips’ writing. There are some intriguing storylines that could break off from this book, so I'm so excited and thrilled to see what this author will bring us next!
WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Sebastian and Ashley’s second chance story in Take Me Again, book one in The Knight Brothers series by Carly Phillips is definitely a winner. Playboy Sebastian Knight is a closer of deals for the family company. His reputation precedes him; in business and with women. He has had no trouble sealing a deal until his former step-sister, Ashley Easton, returns. Ashley might have been a tempting teen but now that she’s return, she is sassy and sexy; having Sebastian want a second chance with her. Ashley tries to appear uninterested and no longer charmed by Sebastian, but he will do his best to wear her down, and prove he is the one for her.
Ms. Phillips is a wonderful storyteller as demonstrated in this amazing story and the characters she created for it. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting it down. This is a wonderfully emotional and moving story filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, some introspection and endearing characters that is not to be missed. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This book is full of sexism. I mean, the remark from Sebastian about Ashley not wearing a bra is reall throw me off. I hesitate continue listening to the audio book. But I done it. I am torn now. I do not hate it but I do not like this book either.
This book is min of layers/ emotion/ angst/ drama. Just full of insta lust. I do not get it why Sebastian and Ashley falling for each other. Only a lot of steamy sex between them. To my taste, the steamy sex is like a cold shower. the wording is stiff and can be edited better. Or choose better words.
Despite of that dislikes, I also do not hate this book. Like I said its OK read.
Sebastian Knight and Ashley Easton were once step siblings. She was 16 an he 18. They were incredibly drawn to each other and when family found them kissing her mother and step father had her shipped overseas to a boarding school. She had not seen this once-step family in eight years. She was the only woman who ever understood him and vice versa. She was all alone in the world and had no one once she was sent away. She was never allowed to viisit! They were cruel parents-step parents. Sebastian could have stopped the parents from shipping her away but as usual he said the wrong thing and told daddy dearest he didn't think he could keep his hands to himselt. His whole life consists of thinking about sex, lusting after it, or actually doing it. The sum total of his character. He sees a woman with cleavage and he has to have her, immediately and they all ablidge him. It is constant and I kind of wanted to hurl. The red head is the only one we had to witness and we don't actually witness the act itself, but the morning after. He was one who screwed up a lot of the time because his mind was always on women. He once met a beautiful young woman and asked her to have a drink with him. It ended up she was his family's competitor's daughter and not knowing who she was he blew it, gave away corporate secrets about a job his family was bidding on and caused his family to lose a huge contract that cost them millions and millions of dollars.
It was during this time that all his siblings had been calling him non-stop all night long but he had his phone turned off because he was 'busy.'
As the story opened he is lying in a bed with no idea what happened because he was so very drunk. Whoever it is that he took to the hotel the only thing he remembered about her was her glorious cleavage and breats. He didn't know what she looked like. I thought this was hilariious because when a redhead came out of the restroom and (I thought this was funny!) the first thing he recognizes is she is not attractive and I believe much older. He has no recollection of what went on and notices he's naked so he's pretty sure what transpired. But, he also has no memory of using a condom. When he gets up to get dressed and get the heck out of there he sees a condom wrapper he must have tossed on the floor. That was a very bad beginning and I had to ponder it for a good while as to whether I would read past Ch 1.
The lost step sister comes back because Sebastian's brother's wife over dosed and died. He was too busy screwing to be there for his oldest brother. Unbeknowst to Sebastian Ethan, this very brother, had felt so sorry for Ashley, his step sister that was abandoned. He knew she was all alone and wasn't allowed to visit so he started a brother-sister relationship with her and they were very, very close friends. She was notified that his wife OD'd and jumped on a jet flying back to help him through it. It is then that Sebastian sees another beautiful woman and it turns out to be the woman he once wanted above all others.
I can't say that I recommend this because for me it had triggers and although I finished this 24 hours ago it is still nagging at me, making my stomach upset.
The next book is a short story and I read it too. It was the same type of thing so I am checking this author off my list.
When a distressing familial loss brings the Knight siblings at the eldest Knight brother, Ethan’s disposal, it also has Ashley Easton far way from home as she flies to Ethan’s side, the only Knight member who stuck by her at her loneliest. But for Sebastian Knight, Ashley has not the heart for forgiveness or friendship when it was Sebastian who, eight years ago, sealed her fate with a careless teenage mind when her life was discussed with the dispensable caliber of the summer heat, then to be shipped away like yesterdays business. Ashley never desires to lose herself to love like she did so hastily to Sebastian Knight; lovely devotion is not in her romantic dictionary. Living in the pockets of each other brings forward the past in juxtaposed proximity though. For Sebastian, the reception of his family’s doubtfulness and Ashley’s bitter return has him take a good hearty look in the mirror - at his sloppy life choices and cursory conviction - understanding his misplacement in a careless lifestyle, and he doesn’t like what looks back. With Knight Time Technology in trouble of losing a big contract, Sebastian sees an opportunity to demonstrate his character to his family and to Ashley; he has a reason to keep both in his life.
Unfortunately, Take Me Again by Carly Phillips was another story that promised more than the soundness I was looking for when I finished up with the story. The writing itself lacks the gravitas of character and personality, and it possessed a stiff, static and suspended quality to the characters and storyline that stripped away any enthusiasm I may have had otherwise. Alongside this, I had some issues with the dialogue and sentence structure, not always able to understand meaning. With a delivery that was deterring and a romance that lacked an appetising appeal, reading this felt very much like going through the motions because the delivery was deprived of the pull of wrenching gravity to consciously find pleasure in.
Trigger Warning: Drug addictions, drinking and sex scenes
Is anybody else excited about a new series from Carly Phillips? The Knight Brothers series is off to a banging start with Sebastian and Ashley's story! These two have some history that didn’t end well, leaving them in different countries and Ashley with a lot of hurt and anger. They were no more than kids at the time, but Sebastian seemed to waste no time developing stellar playboy skills in the ensuing years. Now Ashley has returned to New York and is entwined with the Knight siblings as well as their tech company, and there’s no way for her to avoid Sebastian.
If ever two people were destined for each other, it’s Sebastian and Ashley, and their journey to forever is delightfully delicious. They're two people who bring out the best in each other, and both want to be better people because of the other. Their story is steamy and a little angsty but also touching and uplifting. I adored Sebastian and Ashley, devoured their story, and can’t wait to get my hands on the next Knight brother's book! Definitely another winner fro Ms. Phillips!
*I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
Take me again is the first book in the knight brothers' series. It is the story of Sebastian and Ashley.
My thoughts:
If you have read any of my reviews...you all know I'm a Carly Phillips fan...going way back. I recently just finished...well you might as well say devoured the dirty sexy and book boyfriend series. Those two series as well as many older ones she has are fabulous!!! HOWEVER...I did not care for this book!!! Maybe I was a little too euphoric at finding another series by Phillips...and let myself expect too much. I kept thinking...is this really a Carly Phillips book??
The characters were not likable. Sebastian is a top-rated real estate agent and a top-rated a**hole. He is pompous, arrogant, entitled, and just all around...skeezy...yes that’s a word lol. Ashley wasn’t much better but for different reasons. She was a doormat. Ugg...I was finding myself yelling out loud at both of them. If Sebastian is what passes for sexy….lord help us all!
I also thought the two of them together was terrible. It did not feel like a love connection at all!! It was lust/hate...that turned into what they proclaimed was love….it felt really forced, and in no way was believable as love!! I don’t know ya’ll...I just didn’t get it.
Take me Again by Carly Phillips “Growing up, 5 stars”
Sebastian didn’t realize he had a problem until he was faced with it. When he finds out his family has been keeping things from him because of how he handles his personal life it makes him take a step back and access what he’s been up to. Then Ashley, the girl he once had feelings for comes back into his life and finds out he wronged her as well. Will he be able to grow and show her and his family that he can handle everything they throw at him? Ashley was abandoned by the people who should have been her family except for one person, Ethan. When Ethan needs her, she goes back to the scene of the crime where her life changed. She has to face old ghosts from her past like Sebastian. Sebastian is the only one who has ever gotten under her skin, but he burned her. Ashley accepts the part she played in her past, but he took it too far. Will she be able to let go of her hurt and give him a chance? I didn’t want to like Sebastian to start with, but I knew if I stuck with it I would like him and I did. It was like he grew up overnight and it wasn’t just for Ashley. He realized people didn’t take him seriously and he didn’t like being looked at as just the playboy. Ashley was forgiving yet cautious, I loved it. Watching these two who had never had a serious relationship before coming together was awesome and I cannot wait to see what Phillips does with the rest of the Knight family. Plot-5/5 Characters-5/5 Heat-5/5 Writing style-5/5 Overall-5/5
I’m always excited to dive into a Carly Phillips book, and this time was no different, especially since this is a first in a brand new series and though the beginning actually gave me a little pause, I pushed through and found it to be a sweet and smexy second chance story that had just the right amount of drama and filled a lot of heart.
Sebastian. This man. I tell you. I ended up really liking him, I did, but boy that first impression was not the best. It wasn’t that he was an alpha a-hole, at least not with the AF attached to it, but he did rub me the wrong way. Thankfully, he has a lightbulb moment early on and I loved watching the man he was always meant to be emerge. I really liked Ashley from the start. Intelligent, hard working and compassionate. The woman doesn’t mince words, but also knows how to lead with her heart as well as her head.
Ashley and Sebastian’s second chance romance was a surprisingly enjoyable little romp. I say surprisingly because of how the book started off and finding out what happened to cause the rift between them, I can’t deny that I expected a little more angst, but what I got instead were two adults actually acting like adults, figuring their own separate issues out while working at forging a new relationship with each other. There were of course ‘moments’ but they weren’t over the top in anyway and helped to move things between them forward. The smexy was hawt and I loved their bantering and how well they flowed together.
Even though things started off on an interesting foot, I ended up really liking Take Me Again. It was a quick and easy read and filled with characters I want to get to know better. I can’t say I have a favorite amongst the Knight siblings, because I only got bits and pieces of Parker, Sierra and Ethan, but I cannot wait to get my hands on all of their books and see how their own HEA’s will play out!

I'm a sucker for second chance romances and this first book in The Knight Brother series definitely did not disappoint; in fact, Carly has me highly anticipating the next book. I was so enamored with this story I couldn't put it down, I kept telling myself one more page but even then I didn't want to stop. Sebastian is one of the four Knight siblings and the playboy of the brothers. He's the one who uses women and doesn't take life too seriously until he realizes his family doesn't trust him. Ashley was once part of the Knight family until one fateful night. That night shaped her life and because of that she doesn't believe in love or marriage. So what happens when the one man you vowed to never see again realizes he made a big mistake eight years ago? You'll have to read this amazing new series to find out! Good luck trying to put it down once you start!
TAKE ME AGAIN by Carly Phillips is the First book in The Knight Brothers Series. This is the story of Ashley Easton and Sebastian Knight. Ashley's father died at a early age which prompted her Mom to go looking for someone to take care of her and Ashley which finally lead her mom to the Knight family. The Knight family was a big family which Ashley thought she would finally have the family she wanted but she was sent away to boarding school and isolation from them after a incident with Sebastian. This broke Ashley's trust in love and marriage and certainly in Sebastian. Now in the present day she is helping a friend which has put her in direct contact again with Sebastian. Working to keep the old feelings at bay about him she tries to act indifferent but when they have to work together to solve a problem...indifferent seems impossible. Sebastian knows he has a second chance with Ashley and he isn't going to mess this one up. Enjoyed their story!
Unfortunately, the only sexy thing about Take Me Again was the cover. With the stilted dialogue and the wooden romance, it was exhausting trying to finish this book.
Eight years ago, Sebastian Knight and Ashley Easton lived under the same roof when his dad and her mother got married. As they spent their nights laughing and conversing, their relationship slowly developed into a budding attraction. However, before they even really got started, they were caught kissing and Ashley was sent to a boarding school in London. With their parents’ divorce, Ashley has never seen Sebastian in the eight years since, until a sudden death in the Knight family causes her to return back to New York.
In addition to the romance, there was a subplot where Sebastian and Ashley work together to uncover fraud in his family’s company. After his sister in-law, Mandy, died of a drug overdose, the Knight brothers discovered that a failure in the multi-million-dollar project that she was overseeing. In particular, they were suspicious of its depleted cash funds. As a forensic accountant who has always remained close to Mandy’s husband, Ethan, Ashley willingly goes to San Francisco with Sebastian to investigate the issue. This plot was completely useless. It was so damn obvious that Mandy was the culprit – she clearly had a motive (i.e. she needed cash to fund her addiction) and it was stated fairly early on that Mandy had directed the purchasing staff to buy inflated-priced supplies from suspicious vendors. It was ridiculous that this part dragged on for so long. It was also aggravating that Sebastian was in complete denial, when the facts were clearly presented in front of him. Even before Sebastian and Ashley were tasked with this assignment, Ethan had already stated that it was probable that Mandy was responsible.
The romance was also just plain awful – they literally have no chemistry whatsoever. Basically, Sebastian and Ashley have sex a couple of times, and then they suddenly fall in love with each other. They become each others’ exceptions – the elusive “one” that causes them to completely change their habits (i.e. Sebastian was a consummate playboy whereas Ashley had always been extremely guarded and held her partners at an arm’s length). What was so special about the other person that made them fall in love for the first time? Who knows. They barely get to know each other as adults. If this book is trying to sell the fact that the protagonists fell in love due to their amazing physical chemistry, then the sex scenes better at least be sexy or exciting. Instead, I kept rolling my eyes at how passionless those scenes were.
All in all, I got sucked into reading Take Me Again because of the cover (and the high ratings in goodreads). However, the inside clearly was not worthy of its exterior. I couldn’t get into the story at all; the writing style was distant, the characters were boring and the romance even blander.
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the series but it easily stands alone. It is part of the Knights Brothers series and the first book was sister Sierra's story and now it is the brothers turn. The first book stars Sebastien, the black sheep screw up brother and his/their step sister Ashley.
Ashley was 15 and in lust with Seb who was 18 when they were caught together, the parents sent her to England for school and that is where she has been for years. Everyone abandoned her except for Ethan, Seb's brother and so when she gets news Ethan's wife has died she comes runningback to help him deal. While there she confronts Seb who helped convince her parents to send her away and who Ash hates for his betrayal.
Meanwhile Seb is sorry about what he did and he wants to make it up to her. The two go on a journey to try and wind out what Ethan's wife was up to when she died and they try an form a relationship. But Ash is just in town temporarily and so what will happen with their hearts.
This is a fun romance with alot of letting the past go and growing up. I loved bother characters and I loved how strong Ash was in confronting her past. This is a well writtend family series and I can't wait to read more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Take Me Again by Carly Phillips is a second chance romance novel that is super sexy and highly erotic.
Looking for something hot and steamy? Carly Phillips has just the book! This first book in The Knight Brothers series will ignite your fires. Sebastian and Ashley are one hot couple that will get reacquainted under some not so great circumstances. After a death in Sebastian's family, Ashley comes back and reunites with Sebastian. After turning down her current boyfriend's proposal, the two seem like a not so great pair. But their romance might be worth a shot, if only they can get over their stubbornness.
I wanted something to get my mind off of all the craziness going on right now, and this book fit the bill. It follows the typical story line of second chance romances, but I still loved it. I needed something like this in my life. Easy to read, fast paced and packed full of sexy romance... This book is a great addition to your romance shelf.
Take Me Again by Carly Phillips is the first book in her new Knight Brothers series. A second chance romance, pairs a playboy with commitment issues with his former step-sister who was sent to boarding school after the two were caught kissing as teenagers. This book set of the series nicely, has a good bit of Carly’s trademark steam, and very likable characters.
Sebastian Knight is smooth, sophisticated, and usually gets what he wants both in business and in pleasure. When his sister in law dies from an overdose, Sebastian comes to realize that while his family loves him, they don’t always trust him with sensitive information which is a bit of a blow to his psyche. When Ashley Easton returns to New York from London where she’s been since boarding school for his sister in law’s funeral, he not only finds out she knew more about his family than he did, but she’s also been in touch with his oldest brother since she left their family home. Ashley has grown into a capable, smart and independent woman with a heart of gold and Sebastian is determined to get to know her again, but she’s still carrying anger from the past which makes his plan a bit more difficult than he expected.
First off I want to say that this book set up the series nicely without losing the focus on the two main characters which sometimes happens in the first book of a series. While Sebastian comes off as a bit of a cad at the beginning of the book, it was evident pretty early on that he was questioning his life choices. I love when a character shows great growth throughout a story and Sebastian does that in spades. There was no denying the sparks between him and Ashley, but to be honest the hurt and anger over something that happened a decade before after one kiss just seemed blown way out of proportion, yet she seemed to get over it really quickly once they talked which seemed a bit too easy.
Easy to like and hard to put down made Take Me Again a fantastic start to a new series.
First I have to say that I loved this book. I laughed and I screamed and I even cried for these two. I was rooting for them all the way because they really had chemistry when they were younger. Ashley has not had a good life after her father died because her mother went from man to man looking for someone to take care of her. That is when she meets Mr Knight and marries him. Ashley soon becomes friends with Sebastian Knight and when something happens between the two Ashley is shipped off to boarding school never to come back home.
Then she has to come home to help out with the Knight Family business and when she sees Sebastian all the old feelings come flooding back but she is determined to stay away from him and move on but Sebastian is determined to get Ashley because she was the one that got away. So for him he is willing to do anything to get her back into his heart and bed. But Ashley wants nothing to do with him so Sebastian knows he is going to have to fight like hell to win her back. Can he do it or will he fail and lose the one girl he loves.
I wouldn’t say this book was bad, I just wouldn’t really say it was good either. I sorta feel indifferent about it.
We got a back story on all the characters and I guess I got a good feel for the two main characters but there was still something lacking. I just didn’t FEEL anything for them.
The storyline had interest to it and I am interested to know more about the other Knight family members so I will most likely continue with the next book in THE KNIGHT BROTHERS series.
Sebastian and Ashley are HOT HOT HOT! Carly has hit a home-run out of the park with this new series. Carly gives you family bonds, a little drama (great story line) and hot hot sex! I get so invested in this book that I lose track of time. When Ashley tells him why she was so hurt and then when Sebastian realizes he doesn’t want to be like his father really gave me the feels. I felt so bad for them both. Poor Ethan (his brother). His late wife was horrible. I loved the look into Parker’s book next! Thanks Carly for another awesome story!
What a fantastic book! I absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop reading. I felt for poor Ethan and can’t wait to read his story. Didn’t expect to cry over what happened with Ashley and Sebastian. Wow! The chemistry between them is scorching HOT! Loved how Sebastian realizes he needs to step up for his family and makes up with Ashley. They are great together and work so good as a team. Loved being so connected with the characters. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
3.5 stars for a quick, light read H and h are found kissing when they are teenagers and she is sent away to boarding school ... they meet as adults; he is a manwhore while she is repressed but not overly so ... I liked H's change from manwhore to mature man; he realises he is turning into his father which he doesn't want ... h is a confident woman and they make a decision to have an affair ... over the course of which they fall in love This was a quick and comfortable read; there were no dramatic highs and lows but rather smooth sailing ... all in all, nice to read ...
I didn't care about the business conflict, and it took so much time away from the couple. This is a romance book, I dont care about other things. And if other things are happening, it needs to be related directly to growing the couple and their dynamic.
And these two had zero chemistry, and Ashley didn't make him pay for what he did to her.
This was a short, easy read. The romance was sweet and I liked the side story of Ethan's wife and all the mess she created. I wish it had been longer so there could have been more drama and the relationship didn't feel so rushed. The ending wrapped up nicely and the narrator on the audio did a good job.

~ 5 My Everything Stars ~
Well we have another Excellent series from Carly Phillips!!! The more and more I read by Carly Phillips the more I fall in love with her stories and writing.
Take Me Again is the first book in her newest series….The Knight Brothers Series. This story is an enemies to lovers second chance romance. It is told in Dual POV in the third person. I loved the flow of the story and the pace worked well for these characters. Sebastian and Ashley had some things they needed to work out before moving forward.
What I really found interesting and what totally captivated me was the mystery/suspense that Carly added to the storyline. I loved how that also kind of set up Ethan’s (the oldest Knight sibling) story.
In this book we follow Sebastian and Ashley. Sebastian is the third in line of the Knight siblings. There are four of them, Ethan, Parker, Sebastian and Sierra. Sebastian is the party playboy of the family. He has always acted out since his mom passed away when he was younger. When something tragic happens, it makes him reevaluate his life and where he wants to go with himself. This event also brings back Ashley, who has been living in London for the last 8 years. Ever since her mom and step-dad sent her to boarding school over there. When Ashley left 8 years ago things were complicated between her and Sebastian. Now she is back and holds some animosity towards Sebastian. Can these two work things out again?? Can they find happiness?? What happens when there are forced to be together?? Read this book to find out.
I loved meeting all the other Knight siblings and getting to know each of them in this story. I look forward to each of their books.
I would recommend this book to all lovers of a second chance romance or someone who likes an enemies to lovers story. If you are a fan of Carly’s books, you won’t want to miss this new series. Take Me Again is a perfect place to start if you haven’t read anything by Carly Phillips yet. This is one of my favorite books of hers!!!
Amazing new beginning to a new series from Carly Phillips, she never fails to take me on a journey filled with hot sexy characters and heart warming tales of growth and love. The first book in this series, Take Me Again, is the story of Ashley and Sebastian. It's a story of past mistakes, remorse and learning family secrets. Sebastian treated Ashley poorly many years ago when she was just a teen and thought he was her protector. Now years later she's back, only this time it's for his brother, to help in the time of tragedy. Thrown together for the family business, Sebastian learns that his actions so many years ago caused so much pain and because of his wild reputation it's also caused his family to not trust him with family secrets. When Ethan, the eldest, puts Sebastian in charge of getting this information he decides that Ashley is the perfect person to help his brother uncover the mystery that has them on the brink of loosing their biggest contract. Sebastian is going to prove to his brothers and sister that he's grown up and they can depend on him as well as fix the mistakes that sent Ashley away so many years ago. She's the one woman he's measured all others to, the one in his heart he can't get out and the one he is determined to win in the end. The chemistry is off the charts whenever they are in the same room, and soon Ashley can't resist Sebastian any more than she could all those years ago. Can she finally open her heart after years of being alone? Sebastian is the only one who has ever occupied that part of her, can he be the man she needs now? Couldn't put this one down, it's so engaging and can't wait to see how the other siblings life falls in to place in the coming sequels as well as keeping in touch with Ashley and Sebastian.
Take me again is classified as a second chance story, but I wouldn't exactly call it that. Ashley and Sebastian had some history together, but they were never in a relationship and they shared something more than a kiss, but less than sex. I was expecting something more serious and heavy to have happened between them, but that was not the case.
The story began with a Sebastian who was getting out of a bed that wasn't his and he has a little chat with the lady he had a one night stand with the previous night. Wasn't that great? It got even better when in the same chapter Ashley's boyfriend proposed to her. Isn't that even better? We could have lived without all that info. Since Carly Phillips doesn't write very long books these days, I don't think that adding that was a good idea, because the romance between the MC's was rushed and it pains me to say that. If they had a relationship that lasted longer and they had said the "I love yous" I might have been more willing to accept the romantic part of the story. But it wasn't enough for me.
I liked the part where Sebastian and Ashley are trying to find out all the secrets Maddie kept and reveal the truth. My heart when out to Ethan and I can't wait for his story, even though is probably going to be the last book in the series. The Knight brothers have captured my interest and I can't wait to see what the author has planned for them. Some things might not have worked for me, but I had no problem while reading the book and it wasn't a bad way to spend my time. As the first book in the series, it did a good job at introducing us to the Knight world and the characters. Overall, the good outweighs the bad and that's why I am giving 3.5 stars to the book which I will round to 4 on GR and Amazon.
Take Me Again (The Knight Brothers #1) by Carly Phillips 3.5 stars M/F Second chance romance Triggers: Drug addiction, cheating I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Sebastian believes that he has the world at his fingertips. But when his family suffers a tragic death, he realizes that despite his idea of how his life is working out, his family doesn't trust him with their secrets. Rather, they keep him in the dark because they think he's not mature enough to be confided in.
When things at their company take a strange turn, it will take all of the siblings to pull together and figure out how to fix things. But, when a blast from their past comes back too, in support of one of them, can they all find a way through the hurt and disappointment?
Sebastian was young and immature when he last saw Ashley. Ashley was heartbroken and didn't know which way to turn. Both of them went on to lead their own lives, but always with their hearts locked away. When both are put back in the same vicinity, each will have to decide whether or not taking a risk with each other is worth it.
This is a sweet second chance romance. I loved that all of the siblings were involved and hope that more get their own stories. While I didn't think that Ashley and Sebastian had great chemistry, their history helped make up for that.
