The Controllers #6

Deviant Betrayal

Rate this book
Before the Copper virus came along, we were ordinary people.

Developed in a lab, the virus was hailed as the next stage of evolution. Little did we know how it would change us, physically and physiologically.

It divided us.

There were still ordinary people among us, those for whom the virus did not latch. And then there were the dynamics—Alpha through to Mu.

And Omega, the lowliest dynamic.

★ Part 3 of Lilly's story★

Lilly had experienced one perfect moment of acceptance. For the first time since she revealed as an Omega, she could see a future with her two Alphas that did not fill her with dread.

So, with a measure of mischief and independence, she went to meet Tsing alone without telling her Controllers.

Erison Tsing doesn’t want Lilly to stay, and he doesn’t want to help her to run.

He’s not her friend, nor does he harbor latent regrets about their past moment of intimacy.

Tsing has an agenda, and Lilly is about to become collateral damage...

Boderline psychotic, Rykers instability is shown here. Tsing is upto something and Lilliana is his victim. Ethan and Ryker are deadly and they fall head over heel for Lilliana.

Lilliana is appointed with two Controllers by her father. While it took time Lilliana accepts and loves her Alphas. Willful as she is Lilliana decides to show her Alphas that she is independent and can take care of herself which Tsing takes advantage of.
In search of her, Ethan and Ryker start looking for her promising to punish her for this behaviour and for getting into trouble.

This book has dark themes. The alphas are very uncivilized here and I keep liking them more. I loved Lilliana's story soo much and am very sad this has come to an end.

Great conclusion to Lilly's story. I very much enjoyed #3-5 (all Lilly's story) in this series. I felt the author's writing really came into her own in this book, it felt very fluid. Action and inner monologue were balanced well. I actually liked Ryker a lot here, but Ethan is still my favorite :) I wish there had been more of him! I think I have a soft spot for book #3 in this series, because of Ethan's amazing introduction, and book #4 because Ethan took on such a large role.

I absolutely loved how this story worked out. I have never laughed so much during an omegaverse book before. This author has such witty dialogue I was hooked and smiling for most of the book. Amazing MFM storyline with a genuinely interesting plot and chemistry for daaaaaays! Definitely recommend

Amazing!

What an amazing conclusion to this story! And I absolutely LOVE that we got to see our other controllers and omegas.

The sex is super hot! And I finally got my knotting, hehe.
There is awesome fighting scenes, blood, gore, There's a bit of torture (well deserved!) - all in all this is pretty much my favourite book in this series! But it won't make much sense to you if you don't read book 3 and 4. You don't have to read 1&2 but I highly recommend that you do. :)

Deviant Betrayal (The Controllers #5) – L V Lane

Never come between Alphas and their Omega. NEVER.

This book follows on from where we left off in book four. Lilly, Ethan and Ryker have formed a lovely little threesome and there is a tense yet curiously united alliance between Ethan and Ryker, who both seem to have fallen for the feisty Lilly!

Lilly sneaks out of the apartment for her meeting with Tsing – Director of the Omega Programme, while her two Alphas are still asleep. You can feel the danger between the lines of every sentence the author writes. Lilly is obviously walking into a trap, which she does not realise until it is way, way too late.

When Ethan and Ryker discover that their precious Lilly is missing they swing into battle mode and the ensuing chapters are filled with blood, sweat and tears as they mount their rescue and save Lilly from a terrible fate at the hands of the Uncorrupted. This book has some pretty detailed and bloody torture and battle scenes. So be ready for some gore.

We end on a HEA for our trio with Lilly being permanently allocated two Controllers, which you will see, is just as well!

There are steamy and explicit scenes that are so spicy you can almost smell the scent of sex wafting off the pages. Menage scenes are particularly well written and leave you a little breathless. This is a definite 18+ read. I gave it five stars.

Loved the ending for Lilly, Ethan and Ryker! Also glad that Tsing got what was coming to him. I'm really enjoying this series. I found Lucian intriguing so I'm looking forward to reading his story next.

I loved this heart-pounding conclusion to Lilly's story. This book picks up right where Deviant Evolution left off. It is definitely the most action-packed of the trilogy. If you read the two previous books, you know that Tsing is up to something and it all comes to a head in the third installment. This book is a bit different in that Lilly is separated from her controllers for most of it. Normally, I don't love it when that happens but Ms. Lane made it work. It was great to see Ethan and Ryker work together and grow their bond. I fell in love a little more with both of them and I'm honestly not sure if I can choose between the psychopath and the savage. Luckily for Lilly, she doesn't have to. An added bonus was getting to reconnect with Logan and Eloise and Hunter and Anna. I loved the chapters written from their POV and seeing the development of their respective relationships. I have to say that I was very satisfied with the way Tsing was "handled" in this book. As I've come to expect from L.V. Lane, the book had awesome steamy moments. Maybe not as many as the first two but they were worth the wait. While I am really sad that Lilly's story has come to an end, I can't wait for more stories in this wonderful world L.V. lane has created.

Wow! The is a thrilling end to Lilly, Ethan and Ryker’s story! I really enjoyed all of the action throughout this story! There was “meat” and substance to it, a purpose. Hudson and Logan and their ladies even made an appearance. It feels complete. Although I would love to have a Deltas and Gamma story.
I have read this entires series and I can certainly see the growth of this author with each book that has been written. I’m excited to see where her mind takes us next.

This is the third book featuring Lilly, Ethan and Ryker and cannot be read stand alone. Lilly is an omega whose dynamic revealed itself very late, long after the point at which she had become an independent and self-sufficient woman. She was determined to avoid the control of an alpha for as long as possible but the war with The Uncorrupted puts paid to those plans. Now Lilly finds herself with not one but two alphas, alphas who are also Controllers. Like all later revealing omegas she has a singularity, a "gift" although Lilly's is more like a curse, especially as the uniqueness of it has caught the interest of some very unpleasant people.

Somehow the author has managed to craft an omega who is totally enamoured with her alpha's - though perhaps not so pleased about their punishments - whilst still retaining an air of strength and independence. In part this has been achieved by Lilly accepting and even embracing her fate because she doesn't lie to herself about how much she enjoys what they do. Ethan in particular also seems to demonstrate a great respect for Lilly's achievements and her ambitions. If only he thought to trust her with some of his secrets!

A foolish decision to trust someone who was once close to her leaves Lilly in a horrific situation. We do experience some of her suffering, but for those who require trigger warnings it isn't too graphic, nor are there any non-consent sexual encounters. Ethan and Ryker come into their own during this time, and whilst we've already seen Lilly undergo personal growth this is where we see the men mature emotionally.

The previous book introduced us to more of this world but this book really threw the doors open wide. It was great to see some familiar faces turn up to help save the day. Whilst I loved catching up with them I'm not sure if I cared for having scenes from their POV thrown into the mix. I appreciate the author was probably allowing us to catch up with these couples in real time and there was no way these scenes could have been epilogues in earlier books as that would have made spoilers for this story. With three POVs already these extra ones were just a little too much for me.

I really enjoyed this trilogy and hope to read book #8 in the series, which also features these three. I definitely recommend this series both for omegaverse and for SFR fans. For continuity and spoiler purposes I will continue to read the series in release order.

....Magnificent conclusion for Lily and her Alphas.......

✔ Dark scifi omegaverse
✔ Strong sensible Omega
✔ Devoted Alphas
✔ Menage with no M/M
✔ Scorchy burning :)
✔ Fast paced, action packed
✔ HEA

This series has blown me away. Many times I had to pause to take a deep breath. I love, love and love this series very much. This is book 5 in the Controller Series and Book 3 for Lily/Ethan/Ryker. You have to read at least book 3 in the series to catch up with this climax. I initially borrowed them on KU but went back to purchase all of them to support the author.

Without giving too much of this magnificent story away, in Lane's omegaverse world, there is virus that infect people and make them reveal their dynamics ( so technically, there are other interesting dynamics apart from A/O too). Lily is a willful scientist/doctor who revealed as an omega. Omegas need Controllers (Alphas) and her father chose two Alphas for her. Both of them are very dominant and they fall head over heel for her. Their actions speak louder than words. The story arch is the war between dynamics and non dynamics population. The story borders on a dark side with war, violence, blood and stuff but there is romance to soften things in between.

What I love about this series is Lane's crafting style. All her characters are so real. I ached, cried and smiled as I went through Lily and her Alphas story. Lane wrote in multiple POVs but I could actually tell who is who since they had their own complex personalities. The first A/o couples (Logan/Eloise and Hudson/Anna) also show up too :). So good to visit them again.

I really want to read more from LV Lane. Although Lily's story is completed, I still want to delve more into her worlds. And not to mention Abby (gamma) and her two protectors. If you like dark omegaverse HEA like me, you will love this book.

Such a great ending to the series. In this book Lilly and her men aren't together as much. The story picks up right where it left off in the last book.

Lilly is content and even tho she is still worried about her eventual heat, she feels more ready for it. She has made her decision not to run away. So the story starts off with her deciding to show her men that she can be independent and not take up there time by watching her constantly, and she does something very foolish. She goes to see Dr. Tsing by herself. . . .

When Ethan and Ryker wake up they realize their Lilly is gone, and this starts a long search to figure out what happened to Lilly. The one thing Lilly did that wasn't foolish was leave them a note telling them where she went. So her men have an idea of where to start looking.

Dr. Tsing wants Lilly out of the way, because he has a plan. A very BIG plan. So he sends Lilly to another planet. One so way out it is barely civilized and is under control of the enemy. Lilly now has to hope her guys can come and rescue her. But she is starting to lose hope. . .

I enjoyed Lilly, Ethan, and Ryker's story so much. The ending has been totally worth the wait! If you haven't started this trilogy yet you need to now! And if you haven't started this series yet and are a fan of Omegaverse. What are you waiting for? Go buy it!

Phenomenal!

This intense and thrilling conclusion to Lilly's story was absolutely phenomenal. It was action packed, suspenseful, highly erotic and utterly outstanding! Definitely an edge of your seat - nail biting story, with loads of very steamy - panty melting moments.

Lilly is a great character that keeps making stupid mistakes. Her controllers Ryker and Ethan are intense, growly and deadly. The two of them seem to form the perfect bond together so that they can take care of Lilly in the way that she needs it. It is hard not to fall in love with both of them and it's definitely hard to choose between the psychopath or the savage! Both are equally sexy alpha men! Good thing for Lilly that she doesn't have to choose - she gets both! The interactions between these three are volatile, highly combustible and explosive in every way. Their passion is like a bomb going off!

The story and the writing was fantastic as always and I can't wait to see where this amazing author takes us with the next book. Highly recommend.

November 2025 - reread under new pen name
Loved the humor, banter, and bickering between Ethan and Ryker.
The savage and the psychopath.

August 2023 _ 1st read under L.V. Lane
It felt like Eloise & Logan chapters were just word filler. I didn't read their book so I really had no interest in them. Also instead of controlling Eloise maybe Logan should have listened to what she was saying in the beginning about Lilly. At least Anna & Hudson's weren't as long or many.

Ryker pg 157 I'd die to protect her, and if I couldn't save her, then I might as well not exist. (swoon moment from the psycho)
Lilly pg 203 a psychopath with a smile that could knock planets out of alignment and a body to make angels swoon.

Dr. Brach has been taken and her Controllers, Ethan and Ryker, need to get her back before anyone realizes she’s gone.

I love this book, it’s such a great ending to this epic three-part book series. You really delve into all the characters flaws and how they view each other and their relationships. I love the fact that Hudson and Logan got their cameos and are an integral part to the story.

L. V. Lane has grown as a writer and I can not wait to read all her books that follow!

If you enjoy Alpha men fighting for their women then this book is absolutely for you.

Meh

This one was ok. It seemed to drag, and to add more sex to the book the author brought back the couple from the first book for sex scenes, which weren’t really needed. It actually took away from the book. So, just meh. Some typos as always, and some mix up/confusion/continuity issues, but nothing major.

After solidifying their thruple and gaining trust within the relationships, Lillian decides to defy her Alphas and take a business meeting without one of them. This starts a chain of events that deepens the emotional connections between the three lovebirds. While Lillian is in trouble, Ethan and Ryker decide to resolve their differences with conversation and teamwork versus beating the snot out of each other. Through this process, they learn that neither wants to give up Lillian and at the same time the relationship would not work without both Alphas present. Their teamwork helps them get Lillian back and to their surprise, they realize all three want to same things out of life -a happy family with each other. The three-part series of Ethan, Ryker, and Lillian ends on a HEA. This last part was the most action-packed of all three novelettes. It also showcased Ryker’s special talents and why the military keeps him around. The reader also gets a glimpse into the continuous emotional change in Ryker, although he may not be aware of the emotional changes. Ethan also grows emotionally in this section as well and Lillian is, even more, accepting of her fate as an Omega. I loved the storyline of Ethan, Ryker, and Lillian. I am glad I picked up this series to read and that I often went to work sleepy and tired. It was all worth it. There is another thruple novel in the Omega Universe series by this author that I am gearing up to read. If you are sensitive to manipulation/psychological mind games or bloodletting/vampirism related intimacy, this novel is not for you.

Lacking

First, I can’t stand continuation series/books. Second, to put it eloquently, all three books for these characters just sucked….I like bdsm books. I like power exchanges, vampire stories, and love omega verse books. This was just stupid. The entire story of the evil doctor was simply nonsensical and any smart alpha would have eliminated that idiot day one, so to drag on book after book, was unbelievable. Why she was deliberately allowing it made her an absolute idiot, and naturally the book ends with her being given back her position, him dying, and all that should have been done in two paragraphs in the beginning. Just stupid. Also, this entire series is soooo close to being great, yet every book I just can’t wait to be done with and I didn’t know why until after this one. There’s no love or chemistry, a deep bond where you want these characters to end up together. It’s just forced intimacy and I couldn’t careless who it’s with. At one point in his book I thought a third man was going to join their triad, and it took me a few pages to realize he was just attacking her, and wasn’t going to be a love interest that’s how little I felt a connection. It’s just biology and nothing else even though you’re told that’s not true, nothing is done by either person (or in this story arch’s case, any of the three) and that’s where this book, and all of them, would get a one star from me. So close to being amazing series, yet falls so short….

Wow what a book 🖤 I loved every single minute of the story but this book took it to the next level with the 3 main characters.

The descriptive nature of some of the things that happened in this book had me very happy 😂 I was thinking I need more of this, especially when it came to the torture scenes 😱 very gruesome and made me love the men so much more. Definitely my kind of psycho.

I loved the spicy scenes 🥵 I mean I love them in the other books too but this time they meant something more for the story 🖤

My heart is this book though broke and got put back together a few times. I just needed to keep reading to see what would happen next.

When other characters from the previous books come in and you get to have their thoughts on things it was amazing to see. I really am in love with the characters of this series 🖤

I think this might be my favourite book so far out of them all and I can’t wait to read more of the books 😍

I am so lost in this world that not much else will be able to grab my attention away from it. The series is calling to my darkness loving heart 🖤

I love this throuple 😍

Ryker needs more Lilly time!

This episode opens with heart ❤stopping on the edge of your seat drama - and not the good kind
Lilly is so intelligent but when it comes to her heart and her faith in the good of others -
I get why they assign controllers

Everything comes to a head and believe it or not Ryker actually was the voice of reason on multiple occasions - I know threw me too
Time is of the essence here and it will take every string both men can pull to save their Lilly
Be prepared there are some moments that ...
the level of depravity that greed can invoke - heartbreaking

Some of my favorite couples made cameos and I believe some new alliances were formed.
This was another five-star installation to this series

I'm off to the next in series

Whoa that was intense conclusion of Ethan, Lily and Ryker's story.

With Lily being kidnapped and sold to be blood donor in Lyus, we see Ethan and Ryker in their dark element. How the savage fight brutally for his Omega. How the psychopath torture and take revenge in the most sadistic way.

This book is glorius in their Alpha way. And the way the author detail it? Epic!

And the heat? Whoa that's 🔥🔥🔥 my Kindle is on fire!
Not only we have Lily's heat, the author give bonus in Elouise and Logan's steamy heat moment😘😂
Definitly no complain here😂
