Matthew and Ian are the twins of an incubus and a human, taken by their father to be inducted into the way of their kind while still children. They grow up and instead of embracing their demonic heritage, seek to make their corner of America a safer place for humans to exist, banishing the demons who seek to prey on humans.

They have some help along the way, but nothing prepares them from Susurrus, a demon who possesses a low life drug dealer called Daryl to do his bidding.

I found the storyline interesting, but think I'm more of a blood and gore horror fan. I enjoyed the book, but not sure if it was enough to seek out the second act?
