Ashraf Laidi wrote a tremendous book. Sure, it can be a little "heavy" sometimes in terms of the content, but the relationships and correlations that the author illustrates, regarding (especially) risk appetite in general, are truly invaluable and allows the reader to fully understand what makes some currencies or commodities like gold work as "safe-havens" in times of economic turmoil.

Beside that part in particular, I really enjoyed the general outlook of the main currencies from the past decades.

It won't give many trading "secrets" in specific but it will surely give you a broader, clearer look on what drives the markets.

Highly recommended as a fundamental analysis textbook.

Good for understanding fundamentals

Great book to understand fundamentals behind currencies, commodities. However it is about time that the book gets a revised edition as the events and content covers till 2008 only.

Ashraf explains to the reader the correlations and the pressure moves of these interrelated markets.
