Love Wars #1

Moving Jack

Rate this book
She leads the rebellion.
Jack Daniels is an awkward, topnotch programmer and hacker as well as the secret vampire-lifestyle blogger known as iByte. Becoming a vampire should have been the wildest thing to happen to her, but when a supposedly benign, pamphlet-bearing, alien species makes first contact something sends her vampie-sense tingling.

He is the enemy.
Tarc, Commander of the Alien Relocation Cooperative (ARC), thought that accepting the contract to relocate the incredibly creative, though somewhat primitive humans, off of their dying planet would be a breeze. Unfortunately, reality was not as advertised and he is left trying to suppress various rebellion groups refusing to fall in line with his well-organized plans. An oh-so-close encounter with a potentially dangerous, human female leaves him confused yet determined to uncover all that she is hiding.

Or is he?
When Jack and Tarc collide, neither one can maintain their control. Torn between their individual loyalties and their rising desire for each other, passions flare, bloodletting ensues, and secrets are revealed.

Warning – this book contains sarcastic AI, prophetic t-shirts, and a profound appreciation for pizza.

Content Warning - Supernatural torture, discussed childhood emotional abuse, and power dynamics.

Loved this

I would 100 % recommend this to anyone who enjoys sci/fi and steaminess ! Cause wow this book is hot ! I truly enjoyed the characters in the book Jack is who I would so love to be if I could be anyone it would be her ! She’s a vampire whose witty and charming and just all around badass Tarc is a super sexy alien who I wished would claim me ! To anyone who enjoys alien romance I promise you will love this book ! To my paranormal readers this is a not plot twist in a vampire romance and it’s so great and the supporting cast whose books I can’t wait to read I’m so excited for more !!!

Creative and Intriguing

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! If you enjoy a strong female who just so happens to have broken pieces too but has somehow managed not to become an overly dramatic cry baby, this is a book for you. (That might be my favorite thing about it 😏). The plot is well thought out and flows perfectly. And there is so much here that leads me to believe many more stories are coming, which i love!

Um, absolutly OBSESSED with the Love Wars book one, Moving Jack. I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for a review, and it does not impact my review.

Jack Daniels [yes, named after the wiskey] is a vampire of Earth. And the residents of Earth are currently being deported, due to the planet dying. She is a leader of a rebellion, who wants to stay on earth. Tarc is a commander of the war alien race that is assisting with the relocation. Two opposite sides of the fight find themselves unable to combat the attraction to one another. Will they be able to join forces, and do what is best for Earth?

I loveeeed this book. I love the enemies to loves in this book. I actually liked the communication issues, because they were appropriate responses to Trauma.

The vampire/alien romance was a new one for me, and I really liked it. It was really interesting to watch two people that experience the same kind of discrimination from humans fall in love.

I really felt like the characters were well rounded, and full bodied characters. I really liked how connected I felt with all the characters. This book set up romances for more characters, and I can't wait to read those books!

Highly reccomend!

Jack not be nimble

Jack is a clutzy, introverted, incomparable hacker, but otherwise rather lame creature of the night. Her conversion to vamp-hood is a comedy of errors. But never did she think paranormal would meet sci-fi until the Staraban landed and claimed to be relocating humans from their dying world. But vamps are connected to the Earth and can't leave. So she joined a resistance movement. Now she just has to convince E.T. that the world isn't dying.

Spoilers ahead.
Ok, so the crossover of paranormal and sci-fi was well done. It's hilarious, witty, just enough angst to keep it from syrupy sweetness and has enough mystery to keep you reading. Staraban are convinced they're helping humans. Humans don't want to go. Earth might be sick but it isn't dying, and some of the inhabitants can't leave it behind or they die. You want to strangle Tarc a few times, and Jack has more walls than a labyrinth, but they do eventually see the light. The steam scenes are a little cheesy, and at times unintentionally hilarious, but the rest of the book is what keeps you reading. Hal, and I love his name but was saddened he never said the original Hal's phrase, was a hoot. Bren and Rory are going to be as hilarious. Caran seems paired up with Will and Nial with Jill. The world building was well done, the characters evolved and grew, the editing was mostly under control- outside a lack of commas for address and some other small things. I do have one question:
*If vamps are environmentalists, why was she munching on back alley rejects? Why not grab a few jetsetters/billionaires and use them as a juice box? Add a little suggestion to be better to the planet in with the "forget me" glamour and bam. Meal and a good deed. She's in California, she can get her hands on plenty of money grubbing, bad for the environment, waste promoting twits.
I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Some crossovers leave me frustrated. I will definitely be looking for the rest of the series.

Mild trigger warnings for parental alcoholism that affected her childhood and left her with some emotional defensiveness.

This is my 1st read and review for this author and I absolutely loved it so much that I had to buy a copy and I can’t wait to read more from this author especially if they are anything like this story. Jack Daniels is a hacker and a vampire she talks about her vampire lifestyle on a blogger site called iByte and she is absolutely hilarious. Commander Tarc is in charge of the alien relocation cooperative goes to earth to help the primate humans off their dying planet but there are rebels who are not happy with his plans. When Jack and Tarc meet he believes that she is hiding something and she is but they end up working together and as they do Jack and Tarc have chemistry that is electric. I’m not going to get too much into this story but I loved it and I definitely recommend this book.

Funny and unique!

I’ll admit that when I first heard of this book, I was skeptical. A book about a Vampire and and Alien? It seemed off-the-wall, but I decided to take a chance and I’m so glad I did!

The book is delightfully funny. Jack is hilarious and plays very well against the seriousness of the hero, Tarq. But it’s not just the hero and heroine who make the book. The rest of the cast is just as well written and enjoyable to read. I loved the sarcasm of Hal, and the fierceness of Rory, and even the other Aliens, who provided a nice balance.

This story had some unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing to the end. It was a great read, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary.

“Moving Jack” is the story of how a shy, awkward vampire named Jack falls in love with a stoically handsome alien commander known as Tarc. First of all, Jack is hilarious. The way she goes “oh no, cringe, why did I just do that?” Extremely relatable. And Tarc, although he tried to turn his emotions off, eventually realized that he could not. I think that helped his character a lot. This was super steamy, fun read, and the only reason I rated it 4 stars was because the aliens seemed more like humans than supernatural creatures, in their way of speaking and mannerisms. All in all, worth the listen! Will go back to this when I need a laugh.

Jack was a member of the rebel group on earth. They were trying to fight against the aliens that were transporting humans to another planet. Tarc was the leader of the alien group that were on earth to transport the humans to their new home planet. Jack and her team and Torc and his team ended up working together while Tarc and Jack were becoming more than friends. Their two groups were trying to find out why the Vlorans wanted earth so bad to say pay for Torcs team to facilitate the humans off to another planet. Fun and exciting adventure. Can’t wait to read the next book

Absolutely Amazing!

This is the first time that I read a vampire/Alien lovers book! It was absolutely the best! It was witty, sexy, hot, and had everything else in between. I loved Jack and Tarc. I was soooooo happy when they finally worked through their issues enough to give their hearts over to one another. I am really excited to read the next book. I really hope that Rory/Bren, Nial/Jill, and Caran/Will all get together! And is anyone else hoping that Hal get's a body and a girl..... or is that just me hahahaha! This book really is a home run for the win! If you have not read it you really should!

I absolutely loved this book. I’m not usually one that likes this type of story, but I absolutely fell in love with Jack and Tarc. This story had me laughing out loud at points. The banter between the characters is hilarious. This book was well written, and I was instantly drawn into the story. This is the first book by the author I’ve read, and I’ll definitely check out other books. And I definitely want the second book in this series. This was a super fast, enjoyable read. I definitely recommend this book if you like a story with a bit of a supernatural twist, with some sci-if thrown in. Plus, it has a hilarious AI character, HAL, you’ll love him.

Great story by a good and funny author!
Jack is a vampire girl who is one of the leaders of an earth rebellion against the alien relocation group ARC, but she never expected to meet Tarc, Commander of ARC. They fall for each other, but of course, it doesn't go as easy with two opposing views on Earth's health. Both are stubborn, but well-meaning characters and both think they know what is best.

I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters, but most importantly the banter and sarcasm. I've had several moments where I was laughing extremely hard because of something a character said or because of the abbreviations of organizations. It's a great book, so 4 stars!

Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and raw passion, strength, happiness with a happily ever after. It was Erotic and a turn on, of kink. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

Book one in the Love Wars series by an Author I have not read before. Okay I read the heroine's name and the first thing I think about is Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, and that stuck the whole time I was reading. Tarc, Commander of the Alien Relocation Cooperative (ARC) is the hero. A good story, I want to read more in this series. I really enjoyed listening to this book. I thought it was funny, adventurous, and romantic. Definitely an excellent combination. Although, in the first two chapters it kind of dragged for me but as it went on that’s when it began to peek my interest. I can honestly recommend the audiobook. The narrators did a great job but the male voice with his lisping kind of sort killed it for me but you can pass that. Other than that their performance was great. Hope you will enjoy it more than me 😘

This review is for the audiobook.

I loved this book! Funny, engaging and just the right amount of action and romance. The narrators nailed the characters with different voices and tones for each and plenty of emotion. The personalities of the characters really come through. Will definitely be looking forward to more books from this series!

Wasn't Bad, Wasn't Great

This story wasn't a bad read, it wasn't a great read either. So, I guess that makes it a Good Read?

The author has excellent writing skill for structuring a sentence, but her storytelling went a little too wonky for my reading taste. But, I can understand why this story would be enjoyed by others. And lastly, for the readers who love their sex scenes to be many and OTT you will love this story...

I read this last book last year and I still think about it occasionally. Stories like this will get me into trouble if we ever have an alien invasion lol. This is such a great steamy alien/human romance. At some point in the story, jack told her he could smell her arousal, which was so hot. There is some also some forbidden aspect to it as well as an alpha hero. I highly recommend this book for anyone that likes possessive hero’s and lots of sexy scenes.

Really odd.... But REALLY Good😃

Story description said humorous and sexy and it sure was. I really enjoy alien romance stories that have happy ending s. Didn't really like the way the ibytes log kept breaking up the stories flow.
But I really enjoyed the story line and the great emotional description you created.

So it seems there is a bit of everything in this world which I kind of love! Vampires, aliens, shifters...what else?! I can't wait to find out what else is to come in this series. It was interesting that vampires can't turn aliens into vampires. That is the most spoiler-y thing I'll say! LOL I love the banter that seems to be a Michelle Mar's trademark.

Shockingly so cute and easy to read. Thought I’d hate the h but her qwerks were not shoved down my throat like so many authors do. Banter was actually kind of funny. Some y times we’re not at random inappropriate times and were actually sexy and not overdone. Don’t read if you’re looking for anything thought provoking. We are here for a good time. Very much looking forward to the next book.
