Aurora (Rory) Espinoza is ready to pounce on any adventure, fight, or sexy times. With her handy throwing knives, her engineering and munitions expertise, and her secret shifting ability she has never met a situation she couldn’t get out of. Therefore, stowing away on a ship headed into space was right up her alley. During her trek through the stars, who knew that keeping her secrets, her hands, and her heart to herself would prove the hardest part of her mission?
He is fiercely protective.
Bren is a Staraban warrior, the second-in-command of the Alien Relocation Cooperative, and the commander of the ship appointed to carry a prisoner as well as dangerous information to the All Alien Alliance. He’d developed two addictions while on Earth. His love of the Earth creatures known as cats and his desire for a certain human he instinctively wants to protect. Unfortunately, everything he does pisses her off, but when he discovers her stowed away on his ship, he might just throttle her himself.
Destiny or disaster?
Their tempers and passions blaze across the stars on this space road trip. When faced with danger, betrayal, and political games, only three questions remain… Who will end up on top? Can they survive long enough to enjoy it? And… Will they forge a loving partnership that survives it all?
Rory is vertically challenged but has more than enough personality and fight in her to make up for her short... comings lol. Her past leaves her unwilling to make lasting connections, outside of her friend Jack. And now Jill- who decided to go on this crazy journey with her. Bren never met a potential partner slip away without effort. But who knew that this connection he felt would go past the short...term. He knew the mouthy munitions expert would be worth the chase, but he never planned on trying to keep her. He caught the panther by the tail, here's hoping she doesn't maul him.
Spoilers ahead. So, Mills has a good grasp on humor. Bren is a leaf floating through life. Rory is a force of nature. Trigger warnings for the memory shared of her past. Another clan took over her family's, and tried to force her to bond at 16. She escaped, but lost her parents, her family group and left childhood behind that night. She has walls. This story bounces around more time wise. You're in the present, then days/weeks/years in the past via memories, blogs/logs, skipped back explanations. The jumps aren't always linear, or tangential to the story it left to make the jump. Otherwise, the humor, the joy, the needling of Bren by Rory continues into this book. I do wish we'd gotten to see her threats while he was HARM's captive better. And his reaction while it occurred. We still don't learn what the diamond baddies are up to. But, we do get to revisit with Drei. Next book (after the short story mentioned in the end of this one) looks to be Jill and Nial. Although, Hal's new host is Caran, so we may be missing his voice in the next. Which makes me a little sad. He wasn't as connected to Rory, not as many conversations and quips, but he's still a main character. *What kind of advanced society council would condemn a fledgling race questions? That council scene bothers me. Also, no worries over the invasive AI commandeering their computers? But, on a whole, this series is hilarious, fun, and just enough mystery to keep readers coming back to figure out just what's the big deal with Earth. And how many more myths are going to become real. So far we have vampires, shifters, aliens, and AI. What's next?
I was seeking an audiobook when under the "Continue a series" category, Chasing Rory came up. I loved book one and the prequel, so I knew I'd love this one just as much.
Rory is a fierce fighter and an independent women, always ready for an adventure. Of course even when told she's not allowed to go on a space ship, she stows away. Bren is a Staraban warriors, who is capable and in love with cats. He isn't use to people ignoring his orders, but Rory isn't use to taking them. They're a chaotic match, and it causes tension but that's not always a bad thing.
I really loved this book so much! I think my favorite think about this series is I know that miscommunication or lack of communication will never be long and drawn out! If it happens it's short, and they'll go back to dealing with the real problems - like people trying to kill them
I love how POSITIVE all the woman friendships are in this series. I love that they are always there for one another. Although it's not how my friendships typically are, I LOVE to see Jack, Jill, and Rory's friendship.
I am so hooked on knowing what happens next! What happens with ARC, the investigation , and the brother and sister?! I have to know!
I have read the first in this series and I fell in love with Michelle Mars! Her style is on point and NEVER has she left me feeling as if I have FOMO! She writes very good, laughable and genuine reads that allows us the readers to become immersed within her stories. I fell in love with this humorous romp and really enjoyed the characters and the story itself. Miss Mars will have your belly sore (from laughing) and at the same time will be able to channel the story so that it fits with any reader. Yes she is a new author for me as I have only read one other story by her that I know of, but she delivers for that (however long it takes you to read her stories) amount of time; just an easy escape worthy tale that you want to frolic within all the while delay leaving. If you have not checked this author out you really should she will definitely make you see a totally hilarious view and make you want to frolic in her world a bit longer.

This book was the best! I loved Rory and Bren. Rory was really making me mad in the beginning because she allowed her past to dictate how she reacted to Bren and got herself and others in trouble because of it. Bren was scared to let Rory get hurt because he felt feelings for her that he did not feel for others. I was excited to see them get their HEA! I loved when Rory let Bren in and vice versa! It was also fun to see Bren become his most favorite thing in the world! I really can't wait to read Jill and Nail's book and I am excited to read the prequel and really hope that it is the youngest brothers story!

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Love Wars series. The chemistry between Rory and Bren was delicious. The intimate scenes were both enticing and funny! The verbal sparring had me in stitches at times. I love Bren’s little personality quirks, like his obsession with cats, but the fact that he was still able to show off how strong of a leader he is. The narration was great. I love what the female narrator did with Rory’s voice in particular. If I had one request, it would be a second epilogue to see Rory and Bren visit Rory’s home. Without giving any spoilers, I’d like to see that go down.
This wonderfully written Book 2 in the Love Wars Series was intriguing as it had some very well-thought out scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong wills and personalities and their interactions are believable. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists and turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced, good Alien Romance book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. I will be looking for more books by this author.

Rory!!!!! She's such a badass, stubborn person! I loved her so much and Bren and her were just perfect for each other. Driving each other crazy, but also learning to communicate and trust each other more. They both have their own journey they go on, and let's be honest: the steaminess isn't too shabby either. A great alien love story and a very good sequel to Moving Jack. Can't wait till the next one!
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

This is the perfect second installment in Love Wars. I was curious and already half in love with Rory from Moving Jack, but this book just solidified it. I adore the chemistry and depth of emotion that Michelle Mars gave us with both Rory and Bren. The audio was spot on as well!
Rory and Bren were meant to be. When Bren sets out to show the council what the enemy has been planning to do with Earth, Rory and Jill stow away on their ship to give the council the human's point of view.
Why this book is amazing: ~Dual POV ~Forced Proximity ~Instant Love ~Panther Shifter/Alien ~Biting ~SPICY!!!!!
