Bri “Bronx” and Brooklyn, unexpectedly bumped into each other and made their worlds collide. Things took off fast and falling for each other wasn’t hard to do but sometimes staying together is.
Naomi and Sin blossomed into the perfect couple. They are engaged and expecting their first child, and in their eyes, absolutely nothing could go wrong… until it does!
Zeus was the last person PJ expected to fall in love with. From one argument to the next, some kind of way, he still managed to work his way into her heart and soul. It’s unfortunate that one pull of the trigger with seven pounds of pressure, could possibly take him away from her forever.
For Zeus, Sin, and Brooklyn, The Shot Clock, is ticking and they are up for the challenge. They know that Love is a Beautiful Game and with PJ, Naomi, and Bri on their team, they are already beating the buzzer and ready to take home their trophies.

Omg that first chapter had me STRESSED!! 😩😩🤧🤧 AJ you are so wrong for that!!! I was about to disown you forever! 🤣🤣 This series was sooooo good and gave everything it was supposed to. Zoo or shall I say Zeus will forever be my favorite. He definitely lives up to the meaning of both names and his growth was refreshing to witness! Him and PJ were made for each other and I’m so happy they got it together!
Brooklyn and Bri went through it in this book! They were battling some serious issues and I was worried for a minute. I’m glad they didn’t give up on each other. I love to see a black man in therapy and these men definitely needed it. It’s not always childhood trauma that creates a need and I’m glad that even Zeus finally came around to the idea.
Brix was a hot mess!!! That chile definitely giving their parents a run for their money! And poor BJ I hate that he couldn’t get it together! 😩🤧
Sin and Mimi….where it all began! Their story was my favorite and I’m so happy that Mimi got her whittle baby 😍😍 she deserved that happiness after the heartache she experienced! Vicks mom needs to be put under the jail for her foolishness!
I had no idea that these Smith men were related to those Smith men (IYKYK)! It was good getting a cameo from Gatah, Steph, Yaya, Mariah and Gianna!! I hope we see more of these peeps in the future… a family reunion book… a Christmas special… something 🫣 Bravo AJ & M. Monique!!
I laughed so much during the entire series. But this book I had tears from laughing so hard. So happy everyone are happy and in love and at peace. Peace is just a wonderful thing when you find the right one.
I thought this was a good finale, all of my questions were answered on the three couples. The men definitely carried this book, I couldn’t get enough of their shenanigans. Glad they were able to find love before the shot clock sounded.
OMG I’m so heartbroken and elated after finishing this book because this series is over, and it was one of the best rides I’ve taken all year! I said it in my previous review that A.J. Davidson and M. Monique are the dynamic duo and I stand on that! After book two ended I needed my bae Zoo to be alright so how this book started had me feeling too much 😒. Although the beginning of this book had me in my feelings it led to so much goodness. As with the previous books this book was centered around Bronx and Brooklyn, but the other couple’s storylines played a major part. That being said I was already invested in Bronx and Brooklyn so seeing them finally get their happily ever after was gratifying. I can’t express how much I love this family and their personalities. These six characters have become a part of me at this point with the added bonus of the side characters who kept me highly entertained! These ladies crafted a series around love but with so much more from grittiness to grief we experienced it all and that was the best part about reading this series. I know they have more to bless us with in the future but until then I’m holding onto these Smith men and their women!
This series was hilarious that I will give. It felt sporadic. It was all over the place too many characters. Three love stories trying to be told simultaneously made each story incomplete and lacking that loving feeling. How you have a wedding but it’s narrated by a person never got married in the story. The POV never came from the character a experiencing the moment. Even the epilogue gave one POV for the couples. Unnecessary attitudes and issues in the females were annoying could tell that was not Monique’s doing which is why I love her style. Life is full of the unnecessary my pleasure reads should not have it. It’s good entertainment because I love comedy, all the males are book baes even outlandish Zeus just wished the females matched their energy. I could have finished this in a day but I put it down many times with being annoyed with the writing style regarding the female characters.
Zeus is truly the life of the party! He had me rolling and laughing so hard!
Brooklyn struggled in this book on what happened to Zeus and that chapter one had me “oooh they didn’t ooooh no they didn’t” FRFR!
I knew from book one that evil woman did something, and it’s sad I was right!
Several hiccups with two of the couples, but all in all everyone got their HEA!
Now that pick up game with the ladies had me in stitches!
So happy to finally see the twins because Gatah will always be Bae along with Stephan. Just seeing them let me know I need to do a reread IJS. Just love those twins!
Several errors in this book and also different fonts in the book that should have been fixed!
The entire Shot Clock series (books 1-3) were excellent. Aside for some minor grammatical errors through the 3 books, this entire series quickly became one of my favorites. I loved the basketball theme and how it centered around female athletes. I also loved the relationship between the Smith men, their families, and the ladies who became the loves of their lives. Although each book focuses on a specific set of characters, it was great to follow along with all 6 of the main characters throughout each book. There were times in all 3 series I was literally laughing out loud. There was also times I could feel love, joy, hurt, anger and sadness. What an amazing set of books!
Ugh, I didn’t want this series to end. The first chapter of this book *side eye* had me crying real tears.
Sin was on Naomi before she even knew his name. He was not playing with her. I’m so happy she got away from Vick and his mother.
Zeus kept me laughing. That man was crazy and hilarious. I loved all of their stories. PJ had me gritting my teeth. Her stubbornness was on the verge of being exhausting.
“Auntie Kris, now yo know I'm the only one that paid attention in Sunday school. Now look down.”
“It’s bow your head, sweet pea,” my mom corrected politely. - I laughed so hard at this 😭😭😭Zeus is a fool
My heart broke for Brooklyn and Bri. They were going through so much with their families while still trying to pursue a relationship. I’m glad it worked out in the end.
Awesome series! The final book in this series was just as good as the first two. These couples took us on a roller coaster ride to get to their happily ever afters. The Smith men really knew how to love, protect and make their women feel safe. The character development of the the couples from book one to book three was phenomenal. There were a few minor mistakes in the book, but it wasn’t enough to take away from the story. I also like the humor that that woven into the story. I’d definitely like to get updates on these three couples at some point. Well worth reading.
I don’t know what happened between the first two books and this one but this was not it. It’s not giving what’s supposed to be gave 😣😫 Bronx and Brooklyn’s parts were not interesting! The other couples carried the book and that’s unfortunate. The same emotions were overly expressed and described repeatedly and added nothing to the story. I skipped so many passages that ultimately I decided not to finish. I couldn’t care less how it ended anyway. I will give M. Monique another shot because her other books were all 5 star reads.
Man the first chapter had me not wanting to read this book. I was so pissed I just stared at those words and had to re-read it twice. I was so in my feelings I closed out of the book fussing about about they just let Zoo go like that. I was so happy that I decided to continue reading Zoo is hot mess and had my stomach aching especially when he was at clinic with Brooke. I love this series and don’t want it to end.
If you are looking for a complete series that contains humor, drama, excitement and suspense. This is the series for you. These three couples are incredible. In two days, I read all three books. I could not put it down. The characters were alive. The storyline was deep. I wouldn't be surprised if this story will be a movie. Congratulations Ms. Davidson and Ms. Monique!!!
Book three was the perfect ending to this series!!
Watching the love between Sin, Naomi, Zoo, PJ, Brooklyn and Bri grow through the ups and downs of life and continue to choose each other. The smith men don’t play about their women or family and it was amazing to see.
I loved the ending and I definitely recommend reading this series to all my urban sports romance readers!
Okay we finally got book 3, and I just want to say I really almost cried at the beginning Im not going to lie this book had me in my emotions 😟🤦🏾♀️😩. This book picks up with my boo Zoo being shot and how the hang is trying to find that no good Teddy. I sometimes hate books that have different POV’s but these 3 books don’t make it hard to understand everyone’s POV and the flow of the book!
It was amazing to see Brooklyn and Bri (Bronx) story, they are my favorite couple. Their development was amazing, I understood why Brooklyn felt the way he did but I also understood was Bri was mad because you can’t control what another person does. I’m glad they got their stuff together.
I want to say I love Brooklyn’s mom because she went and got her daughter-in-law and that Pepsi, the way they got Bri over there had me dying 🤣🤣🤣 I would have went off about my car 🤣🤣🤣! Zeus takes the record for the funniest character I have read in a book, this man had me crying the whole book.
That’s what Brenda Cole gets, ol crazy woman…I don’t want this series to end 😩😩😩 can we get a spin off a book 3.5 or something. I want to see the double wedding and more of Zesus crazy tail 🤣🤣🤣. Great job ladies providing us with amazing work!!!
I loved this series from beginning to end!! All of the men were definitely a bit crazy but the love they have for their women had me swooning throughout each book. That PJ and Brianna aka Bronx definitely gave their men a run for their money when it came to finally giving in to love. I hope we get a follow up book in the future on the 3 couples!!
Sooo good , I love these 3 cousins and best friends/ sisters getting together🙂 The way each man came after each women touch my heart💜 each guy was a straight up killer but still professional,. And OMG 😏I laugh so much reading this series🙃🙃. Thanks for the GREAT READ AND GOOD LAUGHS 😜😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this series. It was refreshing and a good laugh through out. The entire family is funny. The way I laughed at Bronx talking about the guys when they pissed her off. If you are looking for laughter, family, and bosses (Both the men and women). This is the book!
I can’t even lie loved the series but Bri Bronx kind of got on my nerves with Brooklyn. It was like she tried to be so tough with him cause she was weak for Teddy and he ain’t do half the shit Brook did for her. Loved that Gatah and Yaya made an appearance they’re still one of my favorites.
A great ending to this series. The growth and love from all the couples was tied up nicely. The first two cliffhangers in the series was definitely handled in this book. Great job ladies. I can’t wait to read more.
I really enjoyed this series. I love the crazy Smith Family. I loved how each couple got their own book but we still git chapters from the other characters point of view in each book. Bronx and Brooklyn definitely went through a lot, but I’m so glad they got their HEA.
This book had me laughing out loud the entire time. These three couples are fools (in a good way). I loved Bronx and Brooklyn's story. I wish there was more romance (if you know what I mean), but I found that it didn't take away from the story.
I enjoyed this series! When the doctors told Naomi that they saw no reason for miscarriages, I had a feeling maybe Vick’s mom may have poisoned her. I thought I was reaching, but I was right! The nerve of her! I’m glad she got her Kara in the end and everyone else got their happy ending!
