This is a short and interesting read to understand the intertwined relationship between the semiconductor industry and geopolitics. Compared to another great semiconductor book, Chip War, this book covered more examples of how regions/countries think about their semiconductor strategies (e.g., Singapore, Europe) with a particular deep-dive into Japan’s situation, but it (1) didn’t cover the historical view of the industry’s development and also (2) had a less structured way to introduce the semiconductor supply chain. Overall, I would recommend readers to start from Chip War and use this book as supplementary reading materials.
