What a world…

What would happen if a beautiful redhead demon told a suicidal wealthy businessman that he was chosen to be the messiah to save humanity and took him on a journey through time and space filled with pain, suffering, hope, self-discovery, and ascension?

A genre-bending supernatural transformation story dealing with the modern world's devastating problems. A unique book guaranteed to be the first of its kind.

Wealthy family man William Rudned was not as happy or satisfied with his life as he appeared. No amount of money, privilege or popularity was enough to extinguish the fire of anger and misery inside him. In the midst of a profound depression and thoughts of suicide, he was relentlessly questioning the meaning of existence and the way of the world we live in. It was getting harder and harder for him to get out of bed every single day only to go through the same aimless vicious cycle all over again. There was something terrible and beautiful inside him, growing, prospering, and consuming his soul.

Why are we here? What is life? Is this modern world system the only way we can live? Do we really need money? Is capitalism the only way? Are we being told the truth about God? Do we need religion? What is the purpose of it all? Can there be a better world? A world where everyone lives in prosper, a world where there are no wars, where all are equal, where people are virtuous and honest? Is there an unknown power that prevents us from reaching our perfect selves, our conscious and enlightened selves?

Only after meeting a beautiful demon named Milena, who guides him on a journey through time and space hell-bent on grooming him to be the messiah of the future world, will he find the answers he seeks. But his metamorphosis to be the savior of mankind is no easy task and the road to enlightenment is paved with desolation, pain, suffering, and most of all, his inner demons.

In his début novel, Tyler Nomax takes the reader to various terrifying and tragic lives of everyday people via parallel universes and timelines in a manner that challenges the norms that we accept and obey unquestioningly, turns them upside down and offers solutions to usher in a paradise for the human race. Nomax does not shy away from declaring war on everything people have taken for granted and considered the way since time immemorial; Organized Religion and Patriarchy, Money, Capitalism, Royalty, Political Systems, Technology and every other aspect of modern life that he claims brings humanity closer to ruin every passing day.

Tyler Nomax writes supernatural tales focused on the philosophical aspects of modern society, political and economic systems, organized religion, and the way of the world today as a whole. As a man born into a billion-dollar family business, Tyler has known wealth, power, and privilege all his life and concluded that not only do the material belongings and synthetic relations arising from politically correct behaviors bring happiness, they make one miserable, depressed and unfulfilled.

He believes that the current way of the world is rotten to the core, people have become slaves of a few evil elites disguised as monarchs, patrons of finance, and holy men, and it must go through a dramatic change in human values, ethics, religious behaviors, and economic systems.

In his first ever book, Tyler Nomax explores the inner aspects of the human soul, living conditions, beliefs, and social values through the eyes of a man who has been taken on a journey through spacetime and to alternate worlds by a beautiful demon named Milena, only to see the real world as it is, suffer through it and come out the other side as the savior of the humankind.

I haven’t read many books like this and I really enjoyed it. The plot truly felt unique and I loved that it was a mix of my favorite genres. There is a lot going on and several different questions being asked but what’s nice is I never once felt confused. The author did a fantastic job of explaining what was happening. Since there was a lot to unpack and explain to the reader, sometimes it feels as though you're being told rather than shown what's going on. To be honest, I didn’t really mind this since I was happy to learn either way. This is a book you can definitely read in one sitting and I totally recommend doing so! The pacing is on point and it was well written and kept my interest till the end. It’s definitely a book that will get you thinking about your own life. Overall, I would definitely recommend this one. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Update 11/3

The author takes the reader on a journey through the eyes of William Rudned- a wealthy but suicidal business man- lead by a red-headed demon named Milena. She says that William is to be the savior of mankind but he must complete a journey in which she will guide him on.

Darkborne Messiah is a book that is completely outside of my normal reads. I believed it to be a paranormal thriller but it was much more than that.
It was a little unnerving to think how much this story parallels our current world circumstances.

The author has really created a compelling story with important dialogue on how our current world is moving.

I did think there was some unnecessary dialogue that was too much telling vs showing but it did not distract from the story.

It’s important for me to note that I struggled with the mentions of the military as well. I’m fiercely protective of my community and while what was mentioned is not necessarily something new, I hope that the author took the time to speak with service members about his depiction. But that is purely personal and again doesn’t take away from the story and if that doesn’t bother you, then it’s a non issue.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who was looking for something unique, provocative and thought provoking.

Thank you to the author and book influencers for a copy of the book!

I really wanted to like this book. As a fan of philosophy, Darkborn Messiah's summary really caught my attention.

I was pretty quickly disappointed but chose to read on in hopes that it would get better. Let me start with my initial feelings about the first section of the book:
The main character, a wealthy white male with the perfect wife and two beautiful young kids has depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. His feelings stem mostly from a childhood lacking in love, and from being raised by an angry and power-hungry father. The first chapters get annoying very quickly because he just drones on and on about how depressed he is. Does he see a therapist? No, of course not, because that would make too much sense.

"Hurry up? … Why? To rush into another day in the cage?" - One of the issues that the main characters bring up is that a normal 9-5 job is a "cage" and is essentially a way for the elite to control the masses. I found a problem with this idea because, even though William didn't like his job, it felt like he assumed that all careers were "cages". And it ignores the fact that we, as a society, used to work 60+ hours a week, including children! Yes, 40- hour work weeks can feel exhausting, but I will take that over the days of working in an unsafe factory for $2/hour for twelve hours a day.

I was also disappointed in the lack of other characters. His wife, kids, and employee have a couple of lines, but this book is clearly ALL ABOUT William and Milena.

In comes the drop-dead gorgeous "demon", Milena. She is here to shake things up, not just with the main character, but for all of humanity. Apparently, she is the kind of demon that wants to help humans. Her goal is to throw William into increasingly terrible alternate realities, where he will experience true pain, heartbreak, and disaster, either from the POV of his alternative self or from his alternate wife, child, etc.
To be honest with you, I was happy to see William go through these tough events. They made his depression and anxiety seem inconsequential and selfish. In those initial chapters, he only admitted once that there are people in the world who have it worse off than him, but that realization did nothing to help his character.

My first almost DNF moment came when the perspective shifted. Maybe because I read this book digitally, and not a physical copy, but there was no line break or signal to me that the perspective was changing. In one paragraph, we had William as our main character, then suddenly a new paragraph with a completely new location and random character begins. It took several pages for me to realize that this is an alternate reality and not a completely different book that had been accidentally combined with Darkborn Messiah. It was a shock, but it quickly became a pattern that I grew to accept. It also added to my own anxiety as a reader, which mimicked Williams's anxiety.

As a writing technique, Tyler Nomax did a great job keeping me, as the reader, on my toes.

I won't get into any spoilers, but there are back-to-back alternate realities that William must suffer through, and they get more and more unbearable. As I had hoped, the story did get better. I found myself looking forward to the next torture that Milena came up with. Throughout these events, William doesn't really learn anything. In fact, he just gets whinier.

One thing that consistently bothered me was the yelling. Milena and other characters seem to communicate solely through screaming and berating. God forbid any of the enlightened characters communicated in a humane way...

I won't get into the ending too much, but I was back to being very disappointed. William was pushed by Milena to be the savior of humanity, but the ideas on how to save the human race were 1-unoriginal and 2- not logically possible.

As a fan of philosophy, I personally found most of the concepts in this book to be basic and unextraordinary. Many of the points made throughout the story are ideas that you can find in every philosophical book, blog, article, or TedTalk.

Here are some of the things I did like, and why I am giving this book three stars instead of two:
- The conspiracy theories
- Philosophical debating
- Theology themes without actually being religious (something most books struggle with)
- An extreme arc for the main character
- Fast read
- Engaging

I recommend this book to anyone into sci-fi, stories surrounding mental health, philosophy, theology, and conspiracy theories.

Fair warning, there is a lack of feminism, equality in sexes and races, no acceptance for s*x work as a legit profession, or really anything that supports any other group besides "rich white straight male". Unfortunately, authors that fit that description sometimes tend to lack the ability to empathize with anyone "other".

I know this review reads more negative than positive, but, if you can push through the rough parts that I mentioned, this is a fairly enjoyable book.

I love a book that lends itself to intellectual discourse and introspection. Darkborn Messiah is such a book. It is a little hard to classify genre wise. I think of it as a mix of speculative fiction, science fiction, psychological and supernatural thriller, with a dash of paranormal. All of these elements come together quite nicely in this book.

The protagonist William is taken on a journey in one night by a friendly demon named Milena -- a la Christmas Carol style to his view past lives. Milena wants William to become a Messiah of a future world or she will destroy humankind. William has an amazing catharsis and realizes he is not only going on this journey to save the world but actually going on a journey to find his true self -but is he brave enough to find who he really is?

The book explores themes of spirituality, darkness versus light, and societal ills. It discusses the paths that we take and the choices that we make that can lead us to live in a utopian society or conversely a dystopian nightmare.

The book has very heavy themes but it offers easily digestible food for thought. The writing style is very articulate and flowed very nicely. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good cautionary tale. I also recommend Darkborn Messiah to bookclubs as I believe it will lead to some very good discussions.

Thank you to the author Tyler Nomax for giving me a finished copy of his book to read and enjoy. Darkborn Messiah is available now.

Darkborn Messiah is a mixed genre between supernatural thriller and literary fiction. It is a story about a wealthy but suicidal businessman who has everything - a successful family business, a beautiful wife, and two kids. But the thought about the current state of the world haunts him to the point of having depression and reoccurring suicidal thoughts. Then one day, a demon in the form of a beautiful woman approaches him. Her name is Milena. She told William that he would become a savior of the world. But first, he has to take a journey through time and space under the guidance of Milena.

This book took me by surprise. Not only that it has a beautiful cover but it also has a plot that made me constantly think about it for days. Author Tyler Nomax put a lot of thought into his debut novel and did not shy in challenging the norms and practices that humankind has been doing for centuries. I loved that he wrote the storyline (mainly in a dialogue form between William and Milena) honestly and straightforwardly. It's refreshing and left a mark on me.

I really enjoyed reading his book. It was one of those that is hard to put down. My only complaint is that sometimes, the dialogue is a little bit too long that it gets off track a bit, but still, I loved it.

What a book! I have never read something like this before. It kept me with my eyes on the book all the time. The ambience, characters and the history was really amazing. I couldn’t ask for more!
This books tells us the history of William, a man that seems to have everything but who is not happy with his life. He was thinking about suicide, how depression is controlling his life, until the demon Milena appeared in his life to save him. When they met, she tells him he is the new Messiah, and the world depends on him. They will start a new journey where he’ll see how the humanity has to deal with a lot of things and he has to save them.
More than a paranormal book, it’s a book about how to deal with mental health and how to survive to this kind of physicological problems. We will meet a main character that plays a very important role which some readers will be identified with him. I think is a very important history that should be read in schools, so teenagers can be corcened about this issues.
Also, I have enjoyed this reading a lot, it was so easy to read and I kindly recommend it!

'Darkborn Messiah' by Tyler Nomax is an absorbing and multifaceted supernatural novel that explores alternate realities, future worlds, and the space-time continuum. It is also a reflection of the contemporary issues and challenges of the modern world.

At the center of the story is William Rudned, a wealthy family man who is struggling with his inner turmoil despite his wealth, privilege, and popularity. He embarks on a journey through time and space, aided by Milena, a beautiful demon who is training him to be the messiah of the future world.

The book's portrayal of alternate realities and time travel is skillfully woven into the narrative, creating a fascinating and intricate plot that will captivate readers. The introduction of supernatural beings such as Milena adds an element of suspense and tension to the story, making it a thrilling read.

Moreover, the book is not afraid to criticize organized religion, economic and political systems, and other societal norms that the author considers harmful to humanity. This social commentary adds depth and complexity to the novel, making it an intellectual and intriguing read that will provoke readers to question their beliefs and the systems they live in.

Overall, 'Darkborn Messiah' is a well-crafted, thought-provoking, and captivating novel that offers readers a fresh perspective on the world. If you enjoy supernatural stories with a social commentary twist, then this book is a must-read.

This book might be a good, interesting, and radical read if you have never read a single work by a woman or an author of color. Nomax attempts to make points about the current state of systems without once demonstrating or acknowledging an understanding of how those systems came to be. Without reckoning with the history of slavery or current legacy of white supremacist patriarchy in this country, I cannot imagine how any of the points this book attempts to make could ring anything but hollow.

In Darkborn Messiah, a 42-year old straight white man (William) is plucked from his cushy job to deliver an important message to the people of the world by a sexy demon (Milena), whom he is constantly sexualizing in his narration (especially her legs... so many leg descriptions...). Nomax uses real-world challenges and atrocities (including a fictionalized account of moments during the war in Afghanistan and the lives of Syrian refugees) as teaching moments for this random man to ostensibly be radicalized into changing the world. The idea that no one else in this world is publicly recognizing the fact that systems are broken is laughable. The fact that people of color and women in this book are utilized as set dressing or afterthoughts primarily to enact violence upon for the benefit of William's edification made this book a bit of a slog, though the amount of surprise I felt at the number of positive reviews helped me power through, because I was kind of dying to know where this was even going. There was a period where I thought the utopian future — which, for some reason, still contains police systems and militaries as we know them today — was a parody, or to be challenged, but it seems that the author's genuine belief system is that societal success is equivalent to the "equality" side of an equality vs equity comic used to teach high schoolers Systemic Oppression 101. It is, perhaps, a utopia for straight white men, but I can't imagine it would be for literally anyone else.

The treatment of women in this book in general was only surprising to me because I've read so few books by cisgender men in 2022 — I had forgotten how frequently the depictions of women as written by men do not portray them as well-rounded human beings. From random disparaging lines about a character's mother being ugly in sleep like all women are to the absolute denigration of sex work and frequent sexism related to William's own wife, I almost felt more relieved when the only woman around was Milena than when Nomax tried to bring in more female characters. Milena herself had no motivations or personality that was not directly related to William's growth arc, and to have her exit the narrative (and maybe the world entirely) on a declaration of love after handholding William into at least being less rigidly Christian and capitalist felt like a cheap ending for a character who was most interesting when she was speaking in enigmas.

Another challenge I had with this book was the constant comparison of 9-5 white collar jobs to slavery, as well as the very present panic in this book about automation of jobs by robots. The current system does not support an increase in unemployment. That's true! But consider that scholars, theorists, activists, etc. have been writing for generations about new systems, ways people can have more time at leisure and with their communities... Darkborn Messiah insists that a world where people are not joyfully working 40+ hours every single week is impossible. This book, despite pretending at revolution and utopia, is afraid to let go of so many of the systems that it claims are holding us back.

For a book that hinged on the power of imagination to bring us to a better and more beautiful future, this book had none.

Thank you so much to the author for sharing a copy of this book with me on Bookinfluencers.com !!!

“Gods and deities do not run this world, William. Intentions do.
It’s the intentions that carry energy to shape your reality.”

“He had had to be perfect in every way to be accepted, admired and loved. He had needed other people’s acceptance”

I don’t know if you’ve watched the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” but when I started reading this book I thought … wow but this gives me the same vibes !!! And it does !!!
William seems to be a man with a perfect life … but underneath it all there is something dark threatening to show itself … a battle with depression that goes back ages … but still an undeniable love for his family that still it’s what moves him to be better.
A book that is also the epitome of modern age and the frenzy of living a life just to prove something to someone else … with a constant need of acceptance from others and a sense of not being enough.
How would you feel if a man suffering depression, in the verge of suicide were to meet a red-head demon, telling him he is the one who needs to save the world?
Absolutely speechless !!!
I loved this journey of philosophical discussion about life, existence, mind and religion … and the impossibly tight cages of humanity.
Such violence, such pain … life can be so cruel … by the moment I reached the second half of the book I was a sobbing mess … I needed time to recover from what I had witnessed with my eyes and my heart.
Do I feel differently about things now?? Maybe. Has this book reached parts of my souls I didn’t even know existed? Definitely. Do I feel like crying even know that I finished it? Absolutely but I’m so glad for it !!

“that this current world does not care about noble intentions or principles.”

“It is the law of the Allness. Everything has its counterpart. Nothing exists without its opposite. Good and evil, light and darkness, life and death. If there is one, so must be the other. This is true for life, nature and the universe alike. There must always be balance. As it is above, so it is below”

“What a world”

“Do something you love and you won’t have to work one day in your life”

Darkborne Messiah is a book that is entirely outside my normal reads. William Rudned, a wealthy man but also a suicidal businessman. He’s led by a red-headed demon named Milena. William has a perfect life, a beautiful wife, and kids, how can he be suicidal? the thing is, the current state of the world haunts him to the point of having depression and a lot of suicidal thoughts

That’s when William realized that she had been able to read his mind all along.

This book was captivating and the plot was amazing !! If you like supernatural, emotional read or paranormal thrillers I highly recommend you that book

One single thought crossed his mind. What a world.

Organized Religion and Patriarchy, Money, Capitalism, Royalty, Political Systems, Technology, Love and every other aspect of modern life that he claims brings humanity closer to ruin every passing day. those are the main things that this book is about, through the dialogues there are questions, answers, and even quotes that did mark me.

”There can be no love without respect; that would only be obsession. But respect can exist without love”
Tyler Nomax has created an incredibly captivating story and his writing style had me fascinated the whole time. The characters were so well written, and their emotions have been relatable. The cover is so pretty !!
the only thing I would say is that I would have preferred more scenes to teach William through living instead of the blocks of dialog.

Thank you to the author ( Tyler Nomax) for giving me a chance to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

I can definitely say I have never read or heard of a book quite like this one. It’s not necessarily the first type of book I would pick but I’m glad I did. The story is unlike one I’ve ever read. It combines some of my favorite genres into a mind bending story that really make you start to think.

This story explores a lot of different aspects which personally I really like because it makes it stand out. There is no way you could get this book confused with another. I also think it’s that type of story that you won’t just forget right after you read it. It will stick with you for a long time.

There are some things I didn’t really care for in the story. I felt like there were some unnecessary vulgar language but I think this was used to show the mind set of the character.

Sometimes you felt a little distant from the story and the world because of how it was written. You are often times told what happened instead of experiencing it with the character. But a good think about this is that it made the story go fast and got rid of some of the details that can often make a story boring to read or too drawn out.

This book is great if you are looking for an outside the box kind of read!

Do you read book out of your comfort genre?

Sometimes I do, when a synopsis grabs my attention. Same happened with Darkborn Messiah by @tyler.nomax — the premise of a mild thriller with sci-fi and paranormal elements building up as a “Christmas Carol” like journey: SIGN ME UP!

This was an absolute attention-grabbing, captivating and compelling story about life decision, first world problems, the satisfaction of the self. Remarkable characters (William an average businessman who seemingly has everything, and a demon girl who takes him on journey of past lives and promises the change he can bring).

This book is also great for reflection since it has many thought provoking topics. A quick and eventful read that will linger in your memory long after finishing it!

Also, the cover is a masterpiece!

Thank you so much for @tyler.nomax and @bookinfluencerscom for my copy and to be part of this promotion!

I thank the author for sending me an epub copy for my review.

This book was a fascinating read for me. It was quite different from everything else I read this month. I had been looking forward to reading it since I saw a review of it on Instagram. It definitely piqued my curiosity.

Darkborn Messiah is Tyler Nomax's debut novel. I liked the writing style, it was mostly easy to follow and kept me engaged. The story is framed as a dialogue on the politico-social state of the modern world. It touches on certain difficult topics such as generational trauma, mental health, obsessive behaviour and suicide.

William has a perfect life: a beautiful wife, adorable kids and a well-paying position as the head of the family business. However, we learn quickly that this idyllic life is a façad. Despite everything, he struggles with the effects of a traumatic childhood. From a young age, his parents are emotionally and physically abusive toward him. This abuse left him with low-self esteem, anxiety and severe depression.

I liked the discussion on how our childhood can affect adulthood. William was mostly self-aware about his struggles and shortcomings while also missing some. This gave space for the reader to form their own opinion on the main character. I did feel like there was a lack of perspective. Especially since the only two characters we concentrate on are William and Milena. With our main character also being a white, able-bodied man whom we can suppose is conventionally attractive, there wasn't much intersectionality in the social and political commentary. Furthermore, I disagreed with a lot of aspects of the main character's beliefs and the casual misogyny/sexism on top of the anti-sex-work sentiment. Overall, the theological themes were quite interesting without being overly religious and the philosophical debates were engaging. I would recommend this book to fans of supernatural thrillers and philological fiction.

The first thing that drew me in regarding this book was the stunning cover. Next, it was the premise. The synopsis had me hooked. The premise is so unique, and I had read nothing like it before, plus I love exploring new tales and finding an upcoming author to follow.

This isn't a long book, and so it's easy to read in one sitting. But despite that, the story is powerful and really stays with you after finishing. The first section is thrilling and will throw you straight into the book. I loved the fast beginning and all the questions it raised.

All the different genres the story touch upon come together to create something unlike anything I've read before. I'm so glad I found this author and gave this book a chance.

in darkborn messiah we follow william rudned, a rich businessman with a wife and family. behind the façade of his perfect life, he is actually deeply unhappy and depressed. one night, after work, he is visited by a demon named milena. she takes him on a journey through different lives and the future to open his eyes and fulfill his true destiny.

this novel is an interesting combination between different genres. it has the sci-fi/fantasy aspect, while looking critically at the world and our society at large.

the novel consist of a lot dialogue and at some times it was a bit too much for me personally. if you enjoy books about psychology and with a lot of dialogue, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this too. this book is a short and fast read and the cover is amazing!

This book is masterfully written. It's a compelling and atmospheric story about modern world problems. It may sound like a usual horor or thriller book, but this book is so much more. Outstanding characters and deep and meaningful dialogues are just one of the things that makes this book worth reading. This book will make you reflect on your life and the choices you made. It is a really thought provoking book, and even though it's a relatively quick read, this book will hold you for quite a while after finishing it. One of the biggest realisation this book brings is that one thing, no matter how small, can impact your life in more ways that you would ever expect it to. I can claim that this is one of the most unique books I've read, and I can not recommend it enough! This book doesn't just have a pretty cover to show off on your shelf, it's insides are something beautiful and worth giving your time to.

Thank you @tyler.nomax and @bookinfluencerscom for gifting me a copy of this book and giving me a chance to read this absolutely magnificent book!

Before I start my review, I need to give a TW for suicide!

This book is not like what I usually read, but I was intrigued by the premise. The story is about William, a wealthy businessman, who also happens to be a bit suicidal. While he lives a life most would dream of, he is not satisfied. Cue Milena, a demon, who takes him on a life changing journey to be the Messiah of the future world. This, of course, changes William, and the reader along the way!

I don’t even know what genre this book fits into. It is a bit supernatural, but also truly unique and one of a kind. It gave me “A Christmas Carol” vibes at times, and I loved the journey I was on. The book is only a bit over 200 pages, so can be read in one sitting.

To me the biggest strength of the book was the author’s willingness to go after everything including capitalism, and many traits of the modern world. This leaves the reader with a thought provoking read.

If you are looking for something that is truly one of a kind, pick this book up. Congrats Tyler on a wonderful debut!

I started this book thinking it was a horror/thriller, but it’s much more than that. First of all, the story arc is great. There are deep and complex characters in it. The book deals with modern world problems and dogmas including organized religion, money and political stytems but in a gripping supernatural story. The themes are very relevant. There is a very spiritual side in it too, one which is a combination of esotoric teachings and deep human values. I strongly suggest this book for thinking readers who also are in search of a thrilling and emotional read.

I just read this in one sitting! It’s a little over 200 pages so while it’s not a big book it does really make you think and gave me a existential crisis along the way. This book reminded me of the midnight library in the sense that the main character is seeing other possibilities in his life. William is just like any other man, he has a family and goes to work everyday while struggling with depression. Suddenly he has a supernatural occurrence and is forced to face a lot of harsh truths and questions. William was whiny at times but to be far he is going through a rough time! I liked his love for his family and ultimately how he works through his own trauma at the end.

This book took me by surprise, came for the cover and stayed for the story. Instantly the plot and main character has you reeled in and hooked. The pace is fast as you keep reading to find out what is going to be the next thing that happens.
The story plot gets very dark and disturbing leaving some vivid imagery and emotions. The whole premise is very rebellious, anarchy and knowing we need to change the world before we are our own demise.

A Must-Read!
This is a book unlike anything I've read before. First, I found it incredibly honest, decent, and brave of the author to adress the privileged minority who run the world through criticizing them for their poor morality, even though he was born into a similar background in terms of wealth and power.
The story revolves around the quest of the main character, William, who struggles to find meaning in his life. Supernatural events arise from his self-questioning.
If I were to describe this book and how it made me feel using only adjectives, I would say it's exciting, extraordinary, heartbreaking, heart wrenching shocking, thrilling, fun, steamy, inspiring, challenging, mind-blowing, and surprising – a combination that reflects the journey of life itself.
My favorite part was the 5th and 6th chapters, which provided a sigh of relief after all the challenges I faced as a reader, having gotten a little too carried away by the story!.
The concept of allness which i perceived as wholeness is what made the whole story meaningful. From my perspective, everything can be explained by this beautiful notion. I loved the ending – it was a masterpiece. I felt a sense of euphoria, contentment, and peace (finally😊. The beginning and the entire journey were a bit overwhelming for a gentle soul like me, but the ending was more satisfying than I could have imagined and made the anxiety worth it.
The descriptions were very detailed and artful, especially when William had his first bite from the apple. It felt like I was witnessing the creation of the earth from the beginning.
One of the parts that hit me hard was where Tyler questions the meaning of reality by highlighting the paradox of visibility of dead stars in the sky.
My only criticism is that the book lacks details regarding the emotions and feelings caused by William's excruciating experiences. I must say, in some way, I'm glad it wasn't overly detailed, or I might not have made it to the end!
I loved how it made me think outside the box and question my own life's journey. In everyday life, I tend to dwell on the same material, daily issues and miss the bigger picture. This book definitely helped me see beyond that.
A Must-Read!

Alucinante 🤯 4/5⭐️

Darkborn Messiah
Autor: Tyler Nomax

Frases favoritas

Darkborn Messiah
Author: Tyler Nomax

As the synopsis begins
What if a beautiful red-haired demon told a suicidal wealthy businessman that he was chosen to be the messiah who would save humanity and take him on a journey through time and space filled with pain, suffering, hope, self-discovery and ascension?

Yes obviously reading that paragraph got me interested ...

This book surprised me at first I thought it would be light and that's it.... But as the pages go by it highlights William's interactions, both with his family, friends and memories of the past (really bad memories)... it envelops you in the atmosphere created by the author.

William Rudned is a man who has everything many people desire, both in family and business, he is successful. Simply from any external point of view he has the perfect life.

But he is far from feeling that way, he has an inner struggle that no one knows about and when he wanted to open up he was judged.

Until a beautiful Demonia Milena appears, she will show him through a great journey what the real world is like, in a very crude way.

Favourite phrases

-There is no evil, there is no good, there is only power.

There is no clear difference between good and evil. You can't have one without the other.

Who decides whether something is good or evil?

Very personal
What I loved most about this book is the interweaving of the real with the supernatural, touching on themes of religion, politics and philosophy in the tiniest of ways.

It's 200 pages totally immersive.

He has a wife and kids, he’s a businessman and had reached all his goals. William has it all. Although the darkness is resilient inside of him, waiting for him to let loose and come out.

A critic of the modern world and its environment filled with electronic devices that lead people to alienation, and one question popping in his head over and over again: «What is the point of it all?», then Nomax proceeds to describe the very expensive clothes and accessories William is wearing as he wonders about the uselessness of his job in a vision to help the world heal. I’d call it ironizing the hypocrisy of the character that embodies the idea of every other person (each of us western people at least). One night everything changes when he meets a very incredibly beautiful woman that tells him she is going to help him fulfill his destiny.

A debate on what’s good and what’s evil, William will come to the realization he has no choice but accept his destiny, otherwise something terrible might take place.
Nomax enables us to start a brainstorming and debate on religion and the purpose of life in this world by leading us through William’s voyage that reminds of the three ghosts Scrooge meets in that famous night in A Christmas Carol, will he be able to fulfill what he’s been claimed to be destined for?

Nomax is going to flip your world upside down and you’ll have to be willing to listen and comprehend before you fully let go of this book. I’ve wondered throughout the pages if the author was going to find a proper solution for the ending since it seemed very difficult for me to imagine one and that thought kept me going cause I was so curious. Turns out I wont spoiler it for you (you gotta read it to find out) but I really enjoyed this reading although it is very far from my typical taste, which means it has some really catching themes and topics.

Give up your comfort zone and embrace the power of this supernatural and utopic novel

"The debate you've had all your life. All the whys, all the whats, all the hows... But this time, you will have me to debate with, not just your pathetic self. And I'll ride you like a bull till we reach our destination."

This book is a ride, damn.

William is a man who suffers from depression. One day when he is done working he meets Milena, a devilish woman who will show him his real potential in this world. Together they take a Scrooged like trip, if Scrooge was on acid without Christmas. Milena shows William all the lives he could have lived if he wasn’t born in this one and also what the life he has now could offer him and the world if he makes the choice of being “the chosen one”, the modern Messiah.

This book was such a rollercoaster. The book starts quite poetic and had me in it’s grip from the first section. It’s incredibly relevant to the world now a days. Not only with the world problems but also with the personal problems this generation struggles with. What is my worth on this planet? What is the impact I can make or events have had on my life?
This book to me is not only a book, it almost feels like a pamflet for the future. If the world that is described in this book can become reality, I will sign for it with my eyes closed. It also made me think about my worth on earth and the book has such beautiful words in it. It was exactly what I also needed to hear.

The character development William is going through is phenomenal. You live with him, you feel for him and sometimes you don’t but in the end he felt like a personal hero to me. Milena is the morally grey character asking the right questions at the right time and it doesn’t feel forced.

If you want to read a very accurate book about the time we live in now, if you want to be hurt a bit but also inspired; please pick up this book!

Little sidenote: there are some trigger warnings such as suicide, rape, sexual abuse and murder.

This book is about William Rudned, a man of privilege who, one evening while sitting on a bench smoking his $40 cigar, is joined by a beautiful woman, Melina. She starts talking to him and then touches him and everything changes. Suddenly, he’s someone else in a terrible situation where he is forced to do things he’s never done and doesn’t want to do. Bad things, terrible things, all in the effort to mold him into the person he will have to be in order to change our world. When I read the description of this book, I was really excited. It sounded great. And I still think it could have been a really good story, but a few things about it keep me from rating it more than three stars. First, there wasn’t enough character development for me. Before I even really get to know and care about William, he’s off on his journey with Melina. All we really know about him is that he’s married with two children and heads his late father’s company. As a child William had visions and was verbally abused by his father. So what? Lots of readers were brought up by fathers who weren’t just verbally abusive, but physically abusive, as well. It was hard for me to work up a lot of sympathy for William. Then there’s Melina. It’s never explained who or what she is. Like I said, lack of character development. It was still one of the most intense stories I’ve ever read. Unfortunately, what kept spoiling it for me was all of the grammatical errors. There’s nothing that will ruin the tension for me more than a misspelled word, a word that doesn’t belong in the sentence or missing words. That’s probably my mother’s fault. She was a Language Arts teacher, so I was taught to always proofread anything I wrote to be sure I had the correct spelling and wording. I’ve noticed that a lot of my ebooks have a couple of errors. This one had many more than just a couple and I feel that’s really disrespectful to readers. So, instead of coming away with a 5-star review, Darkborn Messiah only gets three.

I have been a little off of reading lately, but Darkborn Messiah really helped me get out of the reading slump. I am someone who enjoys stories that are haunting and atmospheric. While I was reading through Darkborn Messiah, I was reminded of Bone China by Laura Purcell. Not just Bone China, but Purcell's writing style in itself. Both have an intense atmospheric vibe that I can't help but fall for it. Tyler Nomax offered a perfect balance of plot and character development throughout the book. I, especially, love it when authors focus particularly on characters and dialogues so much so that you start questioning whether it's fiction or reality.

William Rudned went through one hell of a transformational journey after meeting a demon who calls herself Mileana. As a wealthy businessman, he has everything that he wanted but somehow at the end of the day, he is not satisfied with his life. He is haunted by the voices in his head and his childhood trauma always makes him question whether he is good enough. Plagued by self-doubt and suicidal thoughts, William tries to brave through life one day at a time. The book also highlights some of the present day socio-political issues and we get to see how it is analogous to the main character's emotions.

To sum up, I really enjoyed reading this book! The characters, the writing style, the sensible way of dealing with the issues, and everything in-between. Let's not forget how gorgeous the cover looks! 💜

Thanks to Bookinfluencerscom for having me on the book tour.

Rating:
3 out of 5 stars

Content Warnings!
Depression, suicidal thoughts & acts, rape, terrorism, criticism on religion, warfare, refugee, drowning, criticism on government, forced prostitution

Summary:
William Rudned is absolutely done with living on earth. Everything is terrible here and there is no point in living a life without joy. He is visited by some sort of demon that shows William the real terrors of the earth and makes him feel everything. Afterwards, she tells him that he is destined to change the terror on earth, but will he be able to break through his darkness?

Review:
What I really liked about this book was the way in which it influenced my emotions. I went from sadness to terror to disgust and felt everything the narrator felt. The story is well-written and the writing-style is thrilling and vivid.
The plot itself heavily criticises atrocities on earth. It could definitely be seen as controversial, but I really like it when someone dares challenge the authorities the way it happens in this book. Although the critique is shown in a very heavy way, I don’t necessarily disagree with the points made in the book. The novel has a clear message and I think it’s nice to see things from a different perspective once in a while.
Since the novel is fairly short, this is also a quick read. I read the book in two days and could fully immerse myself in the story.

Conclusion:
I definitely recommend this book! Although it contains heavy topics, I think the novel really gives some new insights to these topics and makes you rethink certain views on the world. The fact that this is a work of fiction makes it easier to pick it up than if it were non-fiction. It’s an important work, but also a fun read.

The Darkborn Messiah by Tyler Nomax was not at all the read I was expecting. It’s honestly hard to place a genre on it. It’s thriller, paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, horror all rolled into one.

“What would happen if a beautiful redhead demon told a suicidal wealthy businessman that he was chosen to be the messiah to save humanity and took him on a journey through time and space filled with pain, suffering, hope, self-discovery, and ascension?”

This book was definitely a journey. It started off a bit slow for me and I did have a hard time getting into it but once I gave it a bit more it began to really capture me. You can read the synopsis on the book so I don’t want to go over what it’s about just how it made me think and feel.
I found the storyline to be eerily similar to our current world events and the parallels that are made are thought provoking. The book made me feel…everything. I was sad, angry, overwhelmed, confused and by the end hopeful. I did not like the characters William and Milena at the beginning but they grow during the course of the book and therefore grow on you. The book is very wordy and there is a lot of dialogue but the authors ability to get the brain thinking overtime is a definite talent. At the beginning of the book I made a note about Williams feelings towards heavy metal music, he felt that the songs had meaning and really followed along with the current happenings around the world, that to me was the whole theme of the book right at the start!

All in all I would recommend this book but be prepared for it to make you think!
