Another great series. I found it to be well written with a great plot. I am loving the characters. Some are good and then you have the evil Silas as well. This one kept me engrossed until the very end. Now it's years later and thec dragons left Heliok. The planet is dying and all the people have to live in domes because of the toxic air that will kill you. As Kat and her friends listen to the grandmothers stories they think they are just that stories. Kat trains for the tatsu tournament, she learns of an ancient prophecy and decides maybe there was more to the stories than she thought. Kat finds she gains a new power given to her out of nowhere. She will harness it and win the tournament. The prophecy states 5 champions with different abilities will obtain 5 magical artifacts and they are tied to the dragons. Now Kat and her friends will stop at nothing to win. Then enters evil Silas. He threatens her to stop her quest to win the games because he is the dome leader and he doesn't want to loose his title or have the dragons back even though t8hey could save their dying world. I am now hooked on this series.
Once again, story master Amy Proebstel takes us to a world of mystery and magic. Her descriptions of the magical world are so real and vivid that readers may be shocked to look up from the book and realize they are still on 21st century earth. Good characters, fast-moving action, altogether a great fantasy read. Highly recommend.
A lot has changed over the years. The world is now divided between 5 domes. Outside the domes is uninhabitable. Food is growing scarce and the quality of life differs between the domes. Each year the senior class competes. Catherine's friends decide to try to sweep the podium. Will they be able to do it and start fulfilling the prophecy? Were the stories about the dragons real? Why is Catherine constantly meeting resistance? I can't wait for the next book... I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
