I’m from Ohio (close to Amish country) but have lived in other states, mostly Southern ones for over 35 years. My Mom lived there her entire life (90 years) and just recently passed away and was buried there. So now when we travel to Ohio, it is to meet up with my brother’s family. He and his wife kept Mom’s house as a 2nd home, so that we could still keep a foot in the hometown of our “roots”.
So I purchased the Kindle edition of this book before we traveled there, because we had plans to visit Dayton (Air Force Museum and Wright Brothers sites), Cleveland (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame), Canton (Pro Football Hall of Fame), Amish Country as well as spend time with family and friends. I thought this book was very well done, and was useful for planning our trip. There was at least one place in Amish Country that we visited that I didn’t see in the book, plus a number of good restaurants we visited that were not mentioned, a few standout places in my hometown not mentioned, but a lot of the historical and tourist sites were listed. I liked how the book was organized too, and the index was useful. I definitely think this was the best tour guide book for Ohio that I’ve ever seen, and since I am a retired librarian, I think that is saying something.
I will be looking into other Moon guides for future trips, although some of the Kindle versions are a little more expensive than I would like.
