About the author

Josephine Cox was born in Blackburn, one of ten children. At the age of sixteen, Josephine met and married her husband Ken, and had two sons. When the boys started school, she decided to go to college and eventually gained a place at university but was unable to take this up as it would have meant living away from home. Instead, she went into teaching – and started to write her first full-length novel. She won the ‘Superwoman of Great Britain’ Award, for which her family had secretly entered her, at the same time as her novel was accepted for publication. She is now a No.1 bestselling author with over 40 books to her name.

She wrote dark psychological thrillers under the name Jane Brindle.

I've read afew of Josephine's books now and this has to be in my top two with "living a lie to".
This book was AMAZING, It was so hard to put the book down, It was so sad when Lucys mum dying just before she was about to marry Jack. :( and then her dad going the way he was, I felt so so sorry for him :(. Jack and Lucy are so perfect for each other, when I was reading the book, it felt they were a younger verison of sally and Mike. But it was amazing Lucy and Jack got their happy ending in the end. I'm glad they did. I didn't like Steve, I agreed with Deb, when she said she didn't like the guy.
I wish it didn't end, it was such a good read! I wish i could give it ten stars because I loved it that much. :D

A typical Jo Cox book - a decent storyline but occasional immature writing with simple childlike language. I felt she created the family almost too perfect, they just seemed a bit too good to be true with the relationships sickly sweet. Overuse of 'gal' by Lucy's friend, Debbie, got a bit annoying.

The story started a bit slow but paced up in the middle. A predictable 'happy ever after' ending.

The first book in ages that I thoroughly enjoyed. This book wasn't quite a 5 star but so close I decided to give it five stars anyway. My first Josephine Cox read, but sure it won't be my last. She has a terrific way of depicting people's sense-of-humor.
