I find I'm at the point where I don't really care about the crime that Ella and Ripley get sent out on. It's always the same, urgent, get called in, a couple false leads, then they get the bad guy after one or both of them get hurt. I'm more interested in what happened to Ella's dad.

Ella finds out quite a bit more in this one and deals the Diamonds some big blows. You know they aren't going to let that stand, things are heating up even more between them now. I'm really looking forward to when Ella can best them all and make sure they are shut down.

The Ella Dark stories are just getting unbelievable because she suffers great violence and medical injuries in each story and is immediately sent out on another case and the injuries just seem to hardly cause any distress - NOT POSSIBLE! The stories are interesting but they need to let Ella heal between them.
A mid size town in Iowa has a serial killer - 2 death is just few days. Ella and her soon to retire partner and trainer head to Iowa to find the guy before he can kill more women. But right from the beginning things don't add up to a serial killer - the killings are erratic with different modes of killing and they are way too close together. And as they are trying to figure out the who and why of the murders more women die. Then the penny drops and they figure out one part of the crimes and set a trap.
In the background of the story Ella is still working on her dad's death 30 years ago - determined to find out who killed him and why.

Absolutely LOVED this one. I've read every Ella Dark book and the series has been 95% awesome, but this one took it to the next level. Pierce is really good at stretching out storylines and actually having them pay off at the end. The main plot concerns two killers one-upping each other, and it's a great contained mystery. But the thread that runs through this (and the 13 other books) concerns that of who killed Ella's dad twenty years ago. In this one, we get the explosive finale. What made it great for me was the callbacks to all the old hints we've seen in the past, so regular readers will be rewarded for paying attention. Also if you're reading this Blake, please do NOT retire Ripley! I've grown attached to her over the past two years and every time her retirement is mentioned, I get emotional.

Ella and Ripley caught not one but two killers . Ella was also able to find out information on what happened to her father . She was hot on the diamonds trial and they were having their cleaner getting ready to take her out . Ella and the cleaner finally met face to face and she single handily took him and two of his workers down . When she got then in cuffs word got back to the diamonds boss and he thinking about coming out of retirement to take care of Agent Dark . She finally got a head but I get this feeling she in for a rough ride .

My rating is related to the series more than the individual books at this point. I still enjoy the books, but I feel like I’m checking the box of the copy and paste formula, as a means to an end with Ella’s story. I think if we could shake up the formula even a little, and give a bit more character development, that would be amazing!

I’ll be reading more Blake Pierce, but only if I’m certain a series is complete and not more than 10 or so! 🙃

While Ella is still trying to find her father's killer, she and Mia are hot on the trail of a new serial killer. Ella is the it girl for the FBI when it comes to knowledge of serial killers but this situation is different. Could there be two killers?
With a heart pounding pace and a cliffhanger ending, you'll be anxious to read the next in this series.

I especially enjoyed this #14 book in the Ella Dark series because it is set in Davenport, Iowa.
Ella and Mia are sent to Davenport to profile a serial killer that was killing women in Davenport. Having been born and raised in Iowa, I am very familiar with Davenport, Des Moines, and Rock Island, Illinois, which were all mentioned in this episode. :)

Another intense thriller

This series does have a lot of typos, but I enjoy the overall content. I'm looking forward to book 15. I wish whoever wrote the blurb for the series would fix it to say her DAD's murder rather than her sister's. She doesn't have a sister.

Not my favorite in the series, & it took me a bit to get into it - but it got better as it went on.

You finally get a lot more about her dad's case, but like always each book leaves you with just enough information that you have more questions than you started with.

Great series! This is the 14th in the series and I've tired of Ella Dark for awhile. Moving onto a different author.

The format on this series is pretty much the same every time, but yet each one has new elements to Ella’s personal life and an interesting case to solve.
