Vecna is dead. The Upside Down is cut off from Hawkins yet again. Steve is trying to go back to normal, whatever that is. He's also trying to figure out exactly how Eddie Munson has managed to fit so easily into his life.
A sweet fic that explores the side characters of this show a lot more in depth and starts to deal with some of the social issues in the 80s. But in all it is a beautiful fluff fic that keeps true to the source material
If you caught the chemistry between Steve and Eddie in ST and wished things had gone differently, this is the fic for you! So sweet, and pretty true to the spirit of the characters! My only complaint is I wish it were fleshed out a little more and that it was updated as much as possible to include the events of Part Two (it was written between Parts One and Two.) But like, that’s me nitpicking. The story is so well done and so addictive that I read it in just over a day! Will definitely be checking out more from this author!
– “Just come back, okay?” – “To you, Harrington? Always.”
Okay so I honestly didn't expect this to be half as good as it was. I finally got to read about the absolute iconic trio we were robbed of and it makes me SO emotional!!! It was so nice to just be in this world without an impending death or monster or alternate dimension, just seeing them all hang out and the kids being kids again.
Now Steve and Eddie, I maintain they would have been the best couple in tv history, and this fic just proves it. There were grammatical errors and sometimes it felt just a bit too fanfictiony for my taste, but I found the writing style was true to the series and the plot was quite well done. It was a simple, heartwarming story that made me feel so incredibly single tbh. But I loved every second of it. I need more Steddie in my life, like seriously I've never been so mad about not getting a relationship or even just being able to see their friendship play out 😭
I've decided that the system in which I rate books has to be different from the way I rate fanfiction, especially because I already have so much love for the characters. With that in mind I gave this a higher rating than I normally would. I read this in a couple hours and found myself wishing it was longer, though the pacing was on point and the way their relationships developed felt so natural and had me squealing. This fic was such a blessing tbh <3
