Mabon the festival of Earth and Light Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2022 Mari's books on the Sabbaths are really concise and informative, the middle harvest festival, Mabon, the autumn equinox celebrates light but most importantly the Abundance of a great harvest. The deities are of the Earth and bounty, the symbols and materials are all food for a feast. I definitely loved the chapters on the Mabon Feast and preparations. Another great addition to my mystical library.

Some suspect that books from Mari Silva are written through artificial intelligence, and I can see why. There were some odd errors in introductory material on religious observances. For example, they state that we entered a new millennium on December 30th, 2000 instead of January 1, 2000. They also state that deviating from the directions in the spells will render them less effective. Almost no one in modern witchcraft is of this philosophy. It is a fine book for ideas on activities, rituals, and recipes for a holiday. But Mabon: Celebrating the Autumn Equinox by Kristin Madden is better.
A great book with very simple and practical ways to celebrate Mabon. Includes a brief history of Mabon, deities associated with it, how to set-up an alter, recipes, rituals, and more.
