This is book three of the Julie Farlow FBI Mystery Thriller series and she has just received a commendation from Head Office, as have Leo Finch and Jeremy Crinn, for their work on the last case where they managed to stop a serial killer. It was done at a cost to their official partners, as Crinn changed some emails, making their partners return quite tense. With two difficult cases behind her, Farlow believes it is time to ask her boss for access to the long held secret of her own family’s case, but she is knocked down as her boss and the psychologist believe her to be too emotionally tied to the case and unable to be give an impartial view. Shortly after, she is questioned about the case of a missing celebrity lawyer, when it seems that she has had contact with him by phone and email, just before he disappeared. Agents from another district come to question her and she is put into a holding area on the upper floor of their offices, unable to have any contact with anyone, without every part of it being recorded. She is desperate to clear her name, but must rely on her usual foe Finch, to work on her defence. Her own partner has returned with a huge chip on her shoulder and a desire for revenge against Farlow, something Finch’s partner also wants, but hides a lot better, still wanting to bask in Finch’s legacy shadow!
The case soon shows that there is a very serious foe in charge of this latest targeting of Farlow, wanting information that would thwart Farlow’s own desires, and clearly tied to their last case. Women are going missing and Farlow soon finds links to the missing lawyer, and a sickening demand puts pressure on the team, as bodies start to pile up. The more Finch, Farlow and Crinn seem to uncover, the more questions they end up with and even their boss ends up involved and placing themselves in danger! Emotions start to rise between the trio, as Farlow tries to keep her friendship with Crinn on an even keel whilst strange thoughts about Finch intrude after their forced kiss by the killer playing games with them on their last case. Secrets about Crinn and his true position in the FBI are finally revealed, against his will by their boss, in her own ploy which is also steeped in layers of secrets. Finch is trying to usurp his legacy whilst keeping his own reputation clean, but Farlow’s actions have already changed how he acts and around her, he is slowly revealing his true self, just in small doses. Not that he would ever confirm that! Crinn turns out to have a lot more to his bow and Finch and Farlow would do well to heed him and not upset him. He isn’t someone you would want as an enemy, that’s for sure. Games are being played and someone is pulling the strings behind this latest series of killings and putting Farlow in the crosshairs. Whether it is team Juno and Jules or Jules and Leo going forward, I will have to wait and see, as deadlines are given and emotions have to be considered by all. Farlow is determined to find out what happened to her family and discover the truth using her skills and insights many miss. She just needs to prove her worth and determination, whilst keeping emotions out of it. A hard call and I can’t wait to see what Farlow can do. This is a great thriller that Levi Fuller wrote. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Julie has a formidable adversary in the shrewd killer who can't resist leaving the bodies of young women everywhere. Not knowing who the killer is and how to stop him. causes a lot of frustration for Leo and Julie. The build-up and the characters are perfectly described as are the plots and twists and the many twists that the story takes. This is highly recommended to read.

This is book 3 of a series. I have not read the first two so there are some references that I did not get. It could be read as a standalone but I think would be better with having read the first two to understand the characters more. I found I had a little trouble getting it started and into it. But it was a good read and would recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers. Received this as an ARC for my honest review.

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.

I've read a lot of books written by Levi Fuller; he is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of his books.

this was another great book in the Julie Farlow FBI Mystery Thriller series, it had a great mystery going on and a great tense atmosphere. The characters were what I was hoping for. I was glad I was able to go on this journey with the characters and look forward to more from this series.

A good read as were the other books, although I was slightly disappointed in the ending. It's not BAD, just not what I expected, you need to judge for yourself. A fast-moving thriller that has you on the edge of your seat throughout. Twists and turns keep you guessing, my recommendation: get this book now. I'm anxiously awaiting and hope there is a book 4.

Well, what can I say about this edge of your seat, fast paced, can’t turn the pages fast enough and unexpected ending. I think I just said it all except for that you need to read this story.

Great thriller!
This book is unputdownable! It keeps you tuned in and on the edge of your seat! Julie Farlow, Leo Finch and Jeremy Crinn are very well developed characters involved in a romantic triangle while still trying to save a lawyer from a lunatic called the Clockmaker.

Julie is a FBI agent that is showing great promise within the agency. Julie has enough confidence that she asked to open a cold case that she just happens to be familiar with. She is told no. A prominent celebrity lawyer goes missing and Julie is tied into this case. She has to do what she can to clear her name and find out who is behind this. Leo is the one person that is willing to help her solve this case. A thrilling story that will keep the reader guessing throughout the story without giving away any secrets.
