A Dark High School Romance. A bad-ass FMC makes a huge mistake causing her world to collide with a stuck-up rich boy who hates her for it.
Frankie One night is all it took to change my life for the worse. I grew up with no real home or blood family around. That is until my uncle decided to be an unwelcome hero. He offered me a new life, a home in his mansion, and a fresh start at an exclusive private school. He thinks he’s better than me… They all do. Especially his hot as hell adopted son, Cameron. The reason I’m on lockdown.
Uncle Jimmy thinks he’s doing me a favor, but I know his secrets, just like he knows mine.
But the difference between us all, is I’d rather live my previous life than one like this.
Cameron In one night, she destroyed something that meant the world to me. After filing charges, I inflict what I think is hell by having her sent to a detention center, a place with no future. Lock-up. Where she belongs. I want my revenge, what was lost to me forever, but I’ll take what I can get.
That is until my adoptive father introduces me to his niece, and I see before me the very bane of my existence. I refuse to look into her eyes, to give in to the intrigue she stirs within me. I refuse to want her. Until the choice isn’t even mine.
WARNING: This book has triggers. It contains a pregnancy loss storyline. Graphic sex scenes, violence and strong language recommended for readers aged eighteen and over. This is a stand-alone book and ends with a HEA.
When an underground warehouse fight in Hawk’s Town leaves Cameron Donovan facing legal repercussions, he wants to make the girl responsible pay. An unlikely turn of events brings Frankie Vadetta right into his sphere.
I love a bully romance and this one has some of my other favorite elements too: forbidden and rich boy/poor girl. Becky is great with pulling off twists that you don’t see coming and this was no exception. You’ll know something is amiss, but it’s bigger than you think!

Cameron and Frankie were completely perfect for one another. Two people That have came from wealth and poverty but speak to one another’s souls and who are not that different from each other. While Cameron had his reasons for what he was doing not everything is as it seems and there was a story that was way deeper than either of them could have imagined. Watching their relationship develop and grow into something truly beautiful was fantastic. I’m really hoping we might get some stories for the side characters because Joel is absolutely everything along with Frankie’s guys from her family. They are all so interesting. This book was filled with surprises, intrigue, suspense, drama and some moments of tears. I am loving this author and her stories! I can’t wait for more.
I cannot finish this. This was so incredibly bad, I don’t even know where to start. The tacky racial remarks are a disgrace. That’s not even the start of this bullshit.

After one reckless night, Frankie ends up moving in with her uncle, Cameron. He lives there, and it comes about he's connected with the reckless night that had tragic consequences.
Dark high school romance is one of my favourite tropes, so I was looking forward to reading this. BJ Alpha didn't disappoint, a plot that was action-packed, unexpected, and spicy. Lots of secrets that made my jaw drop. I loved Frankie. She was such a badass. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I loved the little excerpt at the very beginning of this book! BJ Alpha did an amazing job with this and I look forward to reading more!!! Hoping we will see another book, maybe with Bale, Aiden and Joel! Hey we can wish right?
This book is a dark romance with a high school and enemies to lovers trope. Frankie is a badass FMC and I love her sass, confidence, smarts and doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. Cameron was in the wrong place at the wrong time. After an incident that leaves Frankie in juvie and Cameron without his car and fathers necklace, her billionaire uncle Jimmy bails her out under the conditions of living with him and going to the uptight rich high school Cameron attends.
I loved the banter, push and pull between Frankie and Cameron. Although at times he was such an asshole and the things he said to Frankie, she took them but never held a grudge.
This book was such action packed, lots of spice, plot twists, angst, suspense and more. You felt for these characters immensely. I didn’t see any of the twists coming which kept me turning the pages so fast. I loved the ending of this book!!!
Pretty decent read with an interesting storyline. Took a little bit for both of the main characters to grow on me. There was the of chemistry between the two of them though and the smexy times were hot.
Silly me thought I could just read a few chapters.... 1 afternoon later and I had read this cover to cover and i didnt want it to end! I loved Cameron and Frankie, the way their relationship grew. The change in his character from an entitled opinionated rich boy to a protective sweetheart melted my own. Frankie is a badas. Who dosnt love an independent FMC?! I LOVED all the different layers to her past and her personality, the bond between her and the crew and family values made me want to be apart of their world. I wanted to know everything about each and everyone of her boys ❤ the last few chapters were such an emotional ride. I loved every page of this book.
Two lovers... Each side of the tracks.... Born Reckless was Amazing! Had the right amount of SPICE with a good story line. The instant chemistry between Cameron and Frankie along with tentsion made for a good story. The ending had me cry some then smile.

5 stars for the plot and characters but some small issues
I so wanted to give this book 5 stars because the actual plot and storyline is really excellent. The characters are strong and there are plenty of twists and ‘ah haaahhhh’ moments that are really quite clever.
Cameron is just a darling once he gets past the hateful, revenge filled popular rich kid persona and starts to settle into his deep found love for Frankie. Once we get to see the real Cameron, the affectionate, protective and supportive boyfriend, he’s quite frankly adorable.
Frankie is certainly a live wire with a troubled past but a caring and loving heart behind the hard walls she has had to put up to survive all her losses. She’s tough… tougher than anyone at her new school realises. She maintains a calm control over her anger until she is forced to show her true colours… and then boy does she let that side out with style.
There are some of te plot line twists that are quite obvious if you are paying attention … but then there are other aspects that came as a real shock… especially Nate! Was not expected that… but then it strangely also made perfect sense.
So… why not 5 stars?
A couple of reasons really. There were many times, particularly in the later chapters where I struggled to see the main characters as young people. Their actions, the way they converse, their decisions and reactions to situations are more like people in their mid twenties and not teenagers. It felt a little off and to be honest, I wished that they’d been made to be a little older… maybe college/university age because it would have made it more believable.
The other slight annoyance is the number of minor errors and confusing sentence structures. It needs a good editor to run through it again and iron out some of these basic mistakes. It’s a real shame because the actual story… the plot, the characters etc is fantastic. It didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book, but there were definitely times when I found myself having to go back and reread bits to make sense of them.
All-in-all, I loved it. Certainly held my attention and kept me turning those pages. Hoping that there will be more in this series so that we get to meet Cameron and Frankie further along in their journey.
Instantly thrown into the darkness and drama the hidden truths and troubled pasts keep this book and plot getting thicker. Damn i am all friggin for it.
There is such an emotional pull at this story so be prepared your heart will ache for sure. When gang life is all you know, the change is never going entice you in... but will her world change?
Cameron Cameron Cameron. Wow this alphahole really stole the show and my heart. Underneath the revenge act is a loving and protective alphahole and he will absolutely leave you swooning *drooling* Cameron has a dominant side and damn he can throw me down anyday.
Star. This chick is fierce, strong and has some badass crazy traits. She is a queen in her own way and she is not the girl we all assume. Her loyality and love is soul completing.
Joel for me is comedyfriggingold. His personality is infectious, his gorgeous ways and flirty banter will chip away at your heart until hes firmly inside!
----------- Hold up, that ending packs a punch. There are some serious hard hitting scenes and my heart was pounding that is for sure.
"𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫, 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲." But when friendship and family align they REIGN DOWN. That ending was and has left me speechless.
Born Reckless by BJ Alpha is a dark forbidden high school romance. This is the first book in The Born series and can be read as a standalone.
This is the first book of BJ's that I have read and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The relationship between Cameron and Frankie is messy but you can't help but root for them. The chemistry between them was off the charts! I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, High School romances, enemies-to-lovers romance, forbidden romances, or romantic suspense.
So this was a troupe I usually don’t read, not because they aren’t good or anything to do with the book. It’s me 🤦🏽♀️I just don’t like reading about characters 18 & under, even 20 But I wanted to give this author a chance to help change my perspective of Dark/bully/young/high school First of all I put out of mind the young aspect Once I did that I started to enjoy the story Their was such a great twist at the end that e captured what was playing out throughout me reading Frankie & Cameron our main characters are totally from opposite sides of the track with a common link, her uncle is his step dad. But no it’s not that Our young heroine has stolen Cameron’s car and completely wrecked it There is so much more when it comes to that 1 action Frankie has the most amazing set of friends around her and like her not from Cameron’s world. Cameron has it all, the lifestyle the cars money whatever he wants, but he doesn’t have Frankie, and good friends ( he has 1) . He is surrounded by society wannabe’s, and it takes Frankie and her life for him to open his eyes. Was a really great read and I’m still not a fan of Dark High school but I give credit where credit is due . Great story and yes 🔥🍆🤦🏽♀️🤣 Me “ imagining they are older” Looking forward to the next instalment in the “ Born Series”
Amazing story. I adored the characters. The heat was so good! Packed with action. Chemistry was top notch. Loved the female Lead Frankie. She was so bad ass just like the author said
I really enjoyed this book. Frankie & Cameron are such fun characters, I love how they came together in the end after overcoming their fears. I have a hard time not guessing the ending of books and this kept me on my toes 100%
Cameron and Frankie- oh my god I love them honestly. The way Cameron fell first and hardest? Yes. Just yes.
This book was honestly amazing, I enjoyed every second of it and couldn’t stop turning the pages. I just wanted to know what happened next.
It started of as a normal high school romance but turned out to be so much more, and I love it… When everything started to happen with Frankie’s backstory being talked about and all the revealing of the truth, I almost had forgotten how this book actually started as. The way this book just took a whole turn had me excited as hell was amazing.
Also let me tell you, Frankie’s family? I love those boys with my whole heart. Wow. My heart hurts for Aiden tho.
The only thing I can come up with that could have been better was the ending. Everything about James being Frankie’s father and him murdering literally everyone, was good, but I thought it was pretty rushed if you get me? Like everything happened very fast and the rich boy we met in the start was up for murdering his adoptive father from nowhere?
Overall I loved this and can’t wait for the next book :)

This is a dark high school romance with lots of twists and turns and when you think you know where the story is going it goes the other way. So good. Cant wait for more from this author.
Good lord, what a mess. I'm honestly not even sure where to start. I'm a sucker for a romance with a dark premise...but this was not it. Choppy dialogue and a disjointed story aside, there needed to be more editing in this book. On top of that, two characters have names that are essentially the same except for a single letter, making things confusing when people are trying to differentiate between characters. Honestly, even the spicy scenes read like a terrible porno. Which makes it feel really weird when you remember that these are teenagers.
The plot was severely underdeveloped and needed to be fleshed out a lot more. The pregnancy loss of this story seemed to be thrown in for shock and pity of the MC and fell very flat for me. There's no way to form connections with any of the characters, and I struggled with finding anything to like about any of them. Frankie is the proverbial pick me girl. She's rough, tough, but she's not a whore, despite what everyone thinks. Cameron is an abusive, rich kid with a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas. Honestly, it would have been nice to see a love interest who was more interested in helping Frankie heal than in tearing her down in some way in every chapter.
Find something else to read on KU because this is not it. Booktok is seriously getting out of hand; it's making everyone out here think they're a writer.
This book is a dark romance taking place at a high school with an enemies to lovers trope. Not the first one I’ve read, but the first one I’ve read by BJ Alpha and let me just say, it’s definitely one of the best!! I love strong female characters and that pretty much describes Frankie, she is a bada** FMC. She’s smart, confident, sassy and doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. Cameron is from the opposite side of the tracks, attending an uptight rich high school and all. Cameron and Frankie were completely perfect for one another. Two people where one came from wealth and one came from poverty, but speak to one another’s souls and who aren’t very different from each other. I loved the back and forth banter & push and pull between Frankie and Cameron. Watching their relationship develop and grow into something truly beautiful was wonderful.
This book was so action packed, with lots of spice, plot twists, angst, suspense and more. You felt for these characters immensely. I’m really hoping that she writes stories for the side characters because Joel is absolutely everything, being the goofy best friend, I love him! I never saw any of the twists coming, which kept me turning the pages and not being able to put it down! I loved the ending and I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! I highly recommend you check it out if you enjoy a good enemies to lovers romance!!!
"I'm in love with a foul mouthed, tattooed, reckless little sexpot. My very own dirty girl."
I see why B.J Alpha called this book "Born Reckeckless" Frankie was born into a gang world and her name is Star in that world/her family. And the mystery around her uncle James /Jimmy past is...no spoilers and he is step dad to Cameron. Yes they are STEP COUSINS no blood relation. I love Frankie so much and I wish I was like her especially when barbie doll gang try to break her. She just goes with flow and give them the bird. LOVE HER
Cameron is a boxer and he wants to learn a different style which is the dirty side Hawk Town. He has two experiences in that town which we meet him and the second he had a guide call Star.
I love this book so much we have 2 worlds the rich & poor that we experience and dangerous gritty boxing. Cameron is a talent fighter and Frankie is is a reckless survivor 🥊🖤 Once again I was surpise because I was taken down the road of suspense which I did not expect and I thought *that character* was a goodie but caused soo much pain & heart reaching grief for Frankie. We learn about her tattoos that she has and this one tattoo is attached to a VERY special memory...no spoilers
I had an ARC copy of this and I couldn’t put it down.
This is the story of Frankie and Cameron. It’s a high school enemies to lovers story with darker themes. Cameron believes he’s a dark person but really he’s an arse when he can’t process his emotions. Frankie is a strong lead character and finding out more of her past and what happened with the events that led to her first meeting Cameron are heart breaking at times.
The supporting characters are intriguing and I’m hoping have their own books so I can see them getting happily ever afters.
As the book progressed I thought I was going to run out of book to complete the story, but this is a standalone so no nasty cliffhangers. I would have liked this to be a duet with the second focussing on how they are going to defeat the villain of the story (no spoilers here). There is nothing missing from the ending and everything tied up nicely but with the details in the earlier story I would have like to see more.
There is loads of steamy tension in this book with some hot scenes. Cameron shows a lot of jealousy and possessive tendencies that translate well in the bedroom!
This is a fantastic read, I want to see more from BJ Alpha in the future. 5/5
“The first book I read of this author and it amazed me. From the very beginning I was hooked up and couldn’t stop reading. I’m a huge lover of the enemies to lovers trope and if you add the high school background with dark themes?! What else can we ask for? It was truly amazing. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a b*l*y romance. I have nothing against them but I was looking for something more darker and intense but without the b**ly part but thankfully it wasn’t the case more less. Loved the fact that the story was more focused on how to deal with such deep emotions. Frankie was insane! I’m saying it as a compliment. She was strong, fierce and a little d*rty lol. Please don’t hate me but I would have love to see a different side of her. I know that for whom see was and grew up it wasn’t a surprise why she dressed and acted that way but next time can we have a girly girl with the wardrobe, heels, nails and hair done, lots of make up with a brain? Why they are always the bad ones lol? You can dress pretty, wear make up and heels, shopping and still get A+ *wink wink* Anyway, back to the plot and characters. CAMERON… LOVE YOU!! That’s all I’m gonna say. There’s angst, tension, passion and too much to handle!!”
This new author has definitely taken me by surprise! This is her 2nd book that has been released and one thing I can say for sure is that the storylines flow👏🏻👏🏻 this book coming in just under 300 pages gets the point of the story across while still giving you the smut, the banter, etc. that’s why I like her writing- it doesn’t drag on and I can read her books in just one day and still really enjoy what I’ve read.
That being said….. Born Reckless was 🥵🤯🔥👏🏻 It’s based on two step cousins- who end up being enemies to lovers based out of “high school” ( my high school days are very different than these high school days today that authors write about🤣🤣🤣) but overall I enjoyed it! There’s definitely a twist in the book and one that I kinda knew all along but reading it was worth the ride!
Bad ass characters👏🏻 Steamy sexy scenes👏🏻 Banter👏🏻 Protective alpha males👏🏻 Fierce and feisty female lead👏🏻
If I could give this book more stars I would. Beautifully written story about two people from different walks of life whose worlds collide in the most unexpected way. The chemistry and sexual tension between them was explosive 🔥 And I love that the author took the time to develop their relationship before they became intimate. And when they did, my goodness was it hot! Frankie's past was heartbreaking. She was a strong character who didn't take crap from anyone but she also had a vulnerability about her that was endearing. Cameron was just swoon 😍 he made some mistakes but you couldn't help but love the guy. He was absolutely out of his mind, crazy about Frankie ❤ The story as a whole kept me engaged the whole way through. There was never a dull moment and the plot was executed perfectly. This most definitely will not be my last book from the author. I'm looking forward to what she releases next 🥰
Well, wow! I honestly don't know where to start with this review. There was so much going on but I wouldn't have changed it in the slightest. Cameron was just such a sweet Alpha guy and Frankie was the perfect match for him, I loved the relationship development between these two, two broken souls that made eachother whole. I even liked all the sideline characters especially Joel he was like a human version of a Labrador puppy. This could totally be a series, I'm so interested to know more about Joel, Bale and Aiden! i'm just greedy for more. Isn't that the sign of a good book? Leave your readers wanting more... There was drama, action and a little mystery not your typical bully romance. Loved the enemies to lovers/ high school trope. I'm always up for the back and forth sexual tension laced with hate. Absolute 5 star read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Having first picked up Ms.Alpha's work last year i've been looking so forward to more from her! From the moment i saw a post about this book i couldn't wait to read it! I added it to my TBR List right away and jumped into it as soon as i could. I so enjoyed it!
Frankie and Cameron's journey grabbed my attention from the get go! It isn't an easy one and I really liked how i wasn't sure what all to expect. The heat between these two characters was great. I felt so many things throughout as well!
With Born Reckless, Ms.Alpha has created such a good read that will pull you in! I am so looking forward to more of the Born world!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*

That's with that ending though, caught me off guard for a bit BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!! Well done B.J. Alpha. A wonderful book and I can't wait for more.

I really enjoyed this book! I thought the storyline was great and it definitely held my attention from beginning to end! I really loved the relationship development between Frankie and Cameron. They might’ve gotten off on the wrong foot, but there was no denying the attraction and chemistry brewing between them! There were also a ton of twists and turns in this story, making it unpredictable and keeping it interesting! And I loved how the whole thing just came together in the end! This was the first book I’ve read by this author, but it certainly won’t be the last! This was a standalone novel, but I would love to see more of the other characters we met in Born Reckless in future books! 🤞🤞
