Captiva Island Series #3

Captiva Memories

Rate this book
Fear . A four-letter word that keeps us bound to the past, terrified of moving forward.

Christopher Wheeler would rather spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair than let Becca Powell reach inside his heart. The terror of losing another person in his life prevents him from a love that could change his world forever.
Chelsea Marsden’s carefree and free-spirited attitude serves one purpose—to hide her true feelings. Falling in love again after the loss of her husband to cancer scares her. A new romance ends before it begins thanks to his interfering adult children. Chelsea will do anything to keep from acknowledging what everyone around her already knows—that Sebastian Barlowe holds the key to her heart.
Beth Wheeler has made a career out of helping others who can’t help themselves, and yet she’s incredibly blind when it comes to her own life. Gabriel Walker doesn’t let fear control him, and he doesn’t take no for an answer. He’ll do whatever it takes to help Beth find herself, and the stability she needs once again.
Do it afraid . Three words that can empower those living in fear.
Love . One word that is the answer for everything.

Book three has to be my favorite book as of yet. The characters have a loving bond from family and friends and a wonderful strong support as a whole. I can't wait to see what happens next. Enjoy

Great Read

Another great book by Annie Cabot. Wisdom, stubbornness, true love, and great family. All the things come in mind when reading about survival, trivial and tribulations in life. Overcoming life obstacles and pride. Very great read.

I love book #3 so far the best!

I wasn’t so sure about book #1, I liked book #2 better & I really enjoyed book #3 completely. Some of the issues I previously had with character development, editing & writing style, just didn’t exist in this book. It was a fully enjoyable experience. I really liked all the story threads. Christopher’s recovery journey was very well done. I really look forward to reading book #4.

I shoudl have liked this book. But I didn't. As an amputee myself, the accuracy of getting a prosthesis, timelines, what's involved and even the process was so wrong that it threw the whole book into didn't like it territory. Example: blade feet aren't custom. The socket is, the pilon is unique, but the foot itself is not.

I am enjoying this series. Book#3 is mainly about the youngest son Christopher. He was in the military and unfortunately had his leg amputated and most of his platoon killed. He was in a deep depression and towards the end of this book, he gets on with his life. I love this family and can't wait to see what the next book brings.

Sentimental and beautiful

Annie has written a wonderful fiction story but yet very true to life.
Her characters have all sorts of lives that are very relatable in any family or friendships.
I love how they evolve and always leave me feeling that my feet are on the sand!
Could not put it down and can not wait to continue the stories.

I so enjoy this series. Real families with real struggles. Each character brings a new and different personality. These characters become real in so many ways. On to the next book.

Easy bedtime reading

This family feels like they live next door and are your closest friends. A little too predictable but nice ending.

3.5 stars rounded up. This one was a little more predictable than the first two books in the series, but I'm still interested and will keep reading on (especially since the next one is Christmas themed - perfect timing!).
