She traded in her wings for a badge. When Conquest, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse arrives, he'll have to get through her first.

Rachel can out-fight and out-swear the saltiest of sailors, but she used to be an angel. When she's exiled from Heaven and stripped of her powers, she has no trouble fitting in at the Toronto Police Department. Beneath her tough exterior, however, she actually cares about the humans she protects, and when she saves a prostitute from a violent fate, she's determined to protect future victims.

After uncovering plans for an all-out gang war on the streets of Toronto, Rachel finds backup in three more angels that fell from Heaven's favor. As they dive deeper, Rachel reaches a shocking revelation: The gang war is just the first phase of Conquest. If she's right, that means the other three horsemen and the apocalypse won't be far behind.

To restore their heavenly powers, Rachel and her angel companions must discover the truth behind their exile. Only then can they defeat the horsemen and save all of humanity.

Slightly confusing story - wish I could rate it higher

This was a slightly confusing story and way too many questions and not enough answers even for book one of the series.

Considering how evil the priest is in this book with trying to start the apocalypse why don’t the fallen angels just shoot him...

Also I really wanted to know why Rachel wasn’t able to make any real progress on getting her powers back while her fallen angel sisters seem to get there powers back easily.

I give the author credit I felt as lost as Rachel with what is going on.

The story should’ve focused more on the sisters - Caleb took up too many pages. Point of view of the story was split too much.

There is an interesting story here but I felt that we didn’t get enough information about anything to form an opinion about the characters or why they were here.

Unsure about next book....

Black Feathers, this book took me a while to get through. Usually, I can finish a book within days. But I found this one unusually hard to finish. The writing I felt was all over the place, and the direct idea of the main character was lost. I knew who it should be but didn't feel like it stood out enough.
I felt as if a lot of the writing was rushed. Details where they weren't needed and not where they could have been. Extra wording and sentences that I felt were just repeating the same thing over.
There is so much potential for this book. The idea behind it is great, but I just did not feel the book itself was.
