The letter suggested that a man by the name of Ray Johnson might be Patrick’s biological father and the only person on the planet he can now call family.
His quest to find Ray Johnson doesn’t start well after two men attempt to rob Patrick. They might have succeeded if it wasn’t for the sudden intervention of a man dressed in flared jeans and a denim waistcoat. After brutally dealing with Patrick’s assailants, the stranger introduces himself as Clement.
Confused and seemingly suffering from amnesia, Clement claims he has no idea how he arrived in Atlanta, but he does know one thing — he absolutely must help Patrick in his quest.
Despite his reservations about Clement’s motives, not to mention his industrial use of the English language, Patrick reluctantly agrees that the big man can help in the search for Ray Johnson. He's an east end 007 / Jason Bourne, with added humour - another five star Clement tale
These are always enjoyable reads, beautifully gentle escapism, with characters that, Clement aside, aren't so different from us ordinary folk.
I'd just read twelve sci-fi books in a row and needed a break and a return to one of my favourite authors worked perfectly. A believable story with characters that put a smile on your face - at the right times. Finished inside four commutes / two days because it does keep you interested in what happens next. Great stuff.
If you can't enjoy escapism like this, then you have bigger issues to address.

Happy to spend time with Clement once again
I was so sad when I finished the fourth Clement book. They were all so entertaining. I immediately purchased this book when it came out. Happily it did not disappoint. A young Englishman visits the United States in an effort to locate his birth father. Fortunately for him Clement appears, apparently out of nowhere, to help him. There is humor, adventure and lessons about humanity. Wonderful read.

Bad, bawdy and back comes Camden Clement
What a joy it was to reacquaint with the big bluff bruiser as he crashes into the Deep South and they don’t know what’s hit them. Pathos, confusion, humour and a unrelenting distaste for baddies as Clem dispenses his form of raw justice in this well woven tale of loss, gain and mystery. A pulsating thriller against the unfamiliar backdrop of the South USA is a departure for Clem but it’s great to have him back regardless. We want more !

Long and tedious.
I finished the book only because it might have an interesting ending - not so:(
Clement is a great character but so badly handled. Yes his appearance is mysterious, but why not explain even a little bit about why/how?
Patrick is the most tedious, prissy, weak and pedantic character I have ever encountered in a novel. In surprised Clement didn't nut him on many occasions.
And finally, the book is so padded with inane thoughts from Patrick that I skipped multiple pages.

Welcome back Clement. EXCELLENT AS ALWAYS!
Excellent as always from this author. Love enjoyed every one of his books. The first book of his I read was the 1st in the Clement series called 'Who Sent Clement'. It starts in a bookshop and concerns the young woman who owns it..After that work your way thru the rest of the Clement series of take a break for Clement & go meet 'Mumbo Thunk' or 'Kenneth' before returning to Clement. Like nothing you've read before filled with humour. READ THIS AUTHOUR!

I was so pleased to reacquaint myself with funny, sexy, 70’s throwback hard-man Clement - the best (Camden) guardian angel that anyone could ever wish for. I was devastated when he ‘died’ at the end of the last series of novels, but it seems that you can’t keep a good man down and he is going to turn up from time to time whenever he’s needed the most and I am most definitely up for that.
Can’t wait for the next in the series. Please Clement don’t rest in peace - we all need you.

More Clement at last
Another great Clement story- 5th book with him in but a standalone novel so don't worry if you haven't read the others although you'll definitely want to when you finish this. Imagine if Jack Ryan was born in Camden and never joined the army, that's a little bit what Clement's like, in my mind anyway. Cracking read cannot recommend any of Keith's books highly enough, I'd give them 6 stars if I could

Gripping and heart warming
Clement is back! But how and why?
Author Keith Pearson transports us to the USA where Patrick is searching for his biological father, and uncovers a web of intrigue. Unable to solve the challenge himself, a big man appears to help him out.
As With all Keith Pearson's books, I found myself invested in the characters and enjoying the journey.

I am so glad to know that the Clement series goes on, this time in the American south. A great story about an Englishman trying to find his father whom he's never met. As always, Clement appears mysteriously to help and the reader is led on a wild ride of stops and starts, illusion and disillusionment. Pearson is a great writer and very imaginative and inventive. I am always surprised by the turns his narrative takes. The book ends with the promise of a sequel in 2023. I can't wait.

Loved it - a wonderfully weaved tale
Having read many of Mr Pearson tales I’d so far stayed away from Clement. Let’s call it some dormant teenage instinct to rebel against the popular. But wow, what a tale.
It has a bit of everything but you can see and feel the man his presence good and bad.
The tale itself twists beautifully a mix of British humour and tear jerking emotion.
Can’t wait to read what Clement has in store for us later

Exciting, emotional read
Would you cross continents to try to track down a parent you've never met, when all you have is a name? It's impossible...until the big man turns up. With Clement around, things get moving. His methods may be stuck in the past, but he has a big heart. I couldn't put this down, a great read. Thank you for bringing Clement back, long may he continue to just turn up out of nowhere to help out!

another page turner from Keith
I think I’ve read all Keith’s books and love them all, but I do have a massive soft spot for the ones featuring Clement. An amazing character involved in great adventures.

Great book
So the chase is on to find Ray, which I thought went on a bit too long but.... I remained gripped to the story because the characters are so well written. I mean, "come on doll", who can resist the charms of Clement.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, there's not a Keith A Pearson book that I don't like.

Good to see Clement back in a sort of Jack Reacher mode even though he would have no idea who that is. Transported to the USA this time, still with the same funny lines coming from a man still in the 70s era. He doesn't know how he got to America, he just knows he can help Patrick. Even better it is the start of a new series of Clement's double denim bird charming exploits.

I'm so pleased the big fella is back. Fans of Clement will not be disappointed by his US adventures. And if you've never read a Clement (or even a Keith A. Pearson) book before, first, what's wrong with you? Second, you really should, and third, no former knowledge is necessary to enjoy this one.

Another cracking read.
I don’t know if I have read this in the correct sequence but I don’t think it really matters. A great standalone book . The characters are believable and the plot changes enough to keep reading into the small hours. It’s now 2.11am.
I’m very much looking forward to reading the next (or previous ) book.

I love Clement, I feel like I know him. He is a lovable rogue, read this book it won’t disappoint you. Just so you know Keith A Pearson is a fantastic writer so look at his other books!

Superb return for the big man. Keith is a mastered pacing in his books. Makes every chapter hard to just leave it there. The avenging angel only needed to help his pal actually find something this time not something and some part of oneself they never knew before. The man out of time and out of London was good fun.

Great escapism!
Read all other Clement books and was excited to see this one. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next. A refreshing change, would highly recommend. Although I think I might have been bewildered if I hadn't already read the others first.

Absolutely too firm from Keith A - I’ve enjoyed his previous Clement books and this one was right up with the best of them. Really well written, lots of humorous moments but it has a moving story and really is a page-turner.

I love the Clement books, such a great character. A feel good story with likeable characters. The only downside was I listened to this on audible - and it was really weird listening to someone read in Clement’s voice. He didn’t sound like the Clem voice in my head!

Ah so good to be back with Clement! Another great story with plenty of laughs and lots of action. If anything I was just sad when this finished because not I have to wait for the next adventure! Really intrigued to learn more about what’s in store for the big man!

A surprising and refreshing read! All the things I love in a novel - a hero, a guide, a hero's journey... well-written and pacey, with a bit of mystery thrown in. I love the play between US and UK English.

Well...
Here we are with Clement making another appearance. Keith btw, he sold his Zippo when we first met him. Loved Who Sent Clement. And this was just as good. His problem solving skills and ability to cut to the chase are brilliant. Looking forward to the next instalment.

A proper Hardman
Love these books. The whole plot is a bit nuts but I love it. Clement a such a loveable old-fashioned rogue. I remember characters like him well from back in the day.

the start of a fantastic character (Clement)
This is the third book I have read, about Clement obviously reading them in the wrong order but I have enjoyed each book and would recommend them to anybody that enjoys a slightly off the wall, but down to earth mystery.

Still in double denim, still sarcastic and still the avenging angel. Familiar references to clothing, music and attitudes bring back memories of the 1970s , complementing this modern day mystery.

Brilliant story. Clements phrase about his companion being wound up tighter than a nuns fanny was hilarious.
