Texas-born Talley Jones is living a quiet life in Alabama to hide from a dangerous stalker while attending college to become a nurse. She’s always been a dead ringer for her great-aunt Marie, and when the aunt dies, she throws caution to the wind to attend the funeral where she meets the old lady’s former boyfriend and his hot grandson. Cord Hatch is on a mission to relieve his mom from being a full-time caregiver to his ninety-year-old granddad. Once the old man meets Marie’s great-niece, he becomes fixated on her, thinking she’s his fiancé and has come back to marry him. Talley is a nurse, and Cord, not knowing his granddad is delusional, uses her to move the old man into the retirement home where she works. Although Talley and Cord feel drawn to each other, she doesn’t have time for him—she’s too busy dodging the old man and evading a stalker who wants her dead.
Born and raised in northwest Alabama, Jannette Spann comes from a large family and is the tenth of eleven children. Married for over fifty-years, she is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love of writing began when she was in the fourth grade, and she loves to write about family, love and loyalty.
An avid traveler, the beach is her favorite vacation spot. When home, her idea of relaxation is sitting on the front porch swing while drinking a cold glass of sweet tea. In winter, she’s willing to trade the swing for a rocker beside the fireplace and her tea for a cup of hot coffee.
I loved this book. One if the best written, and the story line every page made me wanting more. The references to the Bible and God's word was awesome. Loved the ending. Waiting for Talley and Cord's next adventure.
