March 27, 2020 Review (5 Stars)-
I loved this book, just like last time. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. I just love these characters so much and I’m eager to see how their story will come to an end in the next book!

May 1, 2020 Review (5 Stars)-
MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
Did I think it was possible for me to love this series more after the first book? No... but I was SOOOO wrong! This book was absolutely amazing and I could not get enough! I fell in love the characters more than I thought possible and their story just gripped my heart and wouldn't let go!

Arianna- Ari's going through her issues, but she hasn't given up which is something that I really admire. She fights tooth and nail for her guys and what she wants. I love her as a character so much and her inner strength is inspiring. I'm dying to know what happened five years ago that made her run away. I need answers!

Jensen- Before reading this book, I didn't really like Jensen because of how he treated Ari. While reading this though, I completely fell in love with him. Deep down, he is just a broken boy that feels responsible for everyone around him. He puts all this weight on his shoulders because he feels like he is supposed to make everyone happy. It breaks my heart and I am so happy that I got to know him better in this book.

Jesse- Jesse is SO sweet and kind and caring and I. LOVE. HIM. SO. MUCH. He is always there for Ari and is the first one to jump to her defense. When the guys came storming in at the beginning of this book, he automatically believed Ari and took her side. It warmed my heart and he is just so precious to me.

Tanner- Tanner is always on that razor edge which is something that I love about his character. He is always ready to throw down and he'd fight the whole world for Ari if he had to. I am excited beyond words for his book!

Overall, I highly enjoyed this book and I could not encourage you to read it more. This story is about heartbreak and second chances and I went through so many different emotions while reading it. It will certainly stay in my heart for many years to come. I need the next book like I need air!

Read other books from this author in the future: yes

The guys take Ari away, after they found out some of her secrets like being married to an abusive husband. In the second book the focus is put on Jensen but Jesse and Tanner get also attention.
Again the today and past are told but the chapters about the past are lesser in the second book.
Beside the emotional rollercoaster Gentry enters the scene to get Ariana back, with whom he is obsessed.
I am really looking forward to the third part of this book. The author wrote that Tanner will get focused attention in that book. I am really looking forward to the third part.

There was one letter where the only words were the lyrics to Hate Me by Blue October. It had been one of our favorite songs and the first time I had heard it on the radio after I lost her, I was a mess for the whole day. I guess that was all I could muster to write that week.

...oh, Jensen, you're breaking my freaking heart. 💔

Not as good as the first, MC became whiny and annoying. Also hardly any plot and loooads of smut. By the end of it I was very tired lmao.

Hope the 3rd one resolves it all.

Ok. So I didn't really like this book as much as the others, but it was still really good! She finally got all the guys again, and they are all so cute! There were some times where I was just a little not put off but maybe a little annoyed at how everyone was acting. There was one scene where I felt like she might have been using Gentry as a small sort of excuse, which I didn't think was ok, but other then that I was once again hooked in.

At times I didn't understand why she was being so dense

I wonder how the third book will go, and what it will cover? I mean but it seems like there are only a small couple things that need to still be done.

That ending though! Ugh it was so sad :(

Okay, I’m just going to write one review for all three of these books because it should have just been one long book with the way it was written.

To start off, this was my first dive into the Reverse Harem/Why Choose? genre of romance, and it was a very shallow dive compared to everything I have been seeing blowing up on Booktok, and I think I’m okay with the shallow end? I liked that they were in individual relationships with Ari and that they didn’t ever mix it up with each other. It felt much more ‘realistic’? Idk if that’s the right wording.

The premise was very interesting, and how they found each other and managed to be what they each needed for one another was a unique perspective.

The writing is definitely fan fic level and in desperate need of an edit, but I enjoyed it in general. Definitely had a LOT of needless outside drama, but whatever.

For those wanting more juicy details:

🎸 there is lots of 🔥🔥🔥 in this book, but it’s all confined to each of their individual relationships
🎸I liked how they addressed the structure of how a set-up like this would work because I have never been able to wrap my head around a RH relationship.
🎸after reading this, I think I would try another RH, but I think I want to stay in the shallow end. 😅

Love these Rockstars

I love this series so much. Where I'm usually not a fan of secrets being kept, it really adds to this series. These characters are beautifully broken together, which is why they work. The FMC is really insecure, a character treat I dislike most of the time, it adds to Ari's character development. She's been through so much and her past made her who she is now. I love seeing how Tanner, Jensen and Jesse put her back together one broken piece at a time, slowly healing their own souls too.

This author is amazing and talented, this book hits me in the feels.
The flashbacks give us some background information which is nice, but I keep looking forward to the chapters in the 'now', because they are the ones where we see the development.
This is an outstanding read!

Well, what can I say, by the end of this series I had cried quite a bit, but seeing the hea for Ari and her boys was so worth it! I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’d seen some reviews mentioning it was based in High school, but it actually wasn’t, Ari would look back on her time when she first met the boys in high school and about their time together. It was character building that showed the broken pieces of their worlds. So, you will see now and then chapters. It’s dual pov which I love. The books do have some dark issues for both Ariana and each of the boys. So, for this reason you may want to check triggers. The story is a love story of 4 souls of a found family. The drama follows their lives into rockstars and so much they have to overcome to see their hea. I enjoyed the story. Though it is RH, I didn’t find it to be overly spicy. I find most of this authors books to be a bit milder, but it’s still there. I’d probably give it 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️. You will need to read all three books in order. Sorry gets better and better as you move through the second and third book.

Looooordy, the amount of feels swirling between Ari and her three rock gods are incredible. There's the good, the bad and the downright ugly - I'm addicted to their pain, their mistakes and I crave their happiness.

I love seeing Ari and her men grow, individually and together.

Ariana is back with her boys after five years. Now world-famous rockstars, Jensen, Tanner, and Jesse have never gotten over the girl they left behind and lost. Now that she's back in their lives, they aren't going to let her out of their sight again. Ari joins the guys on their world-tour, even taking a turn on stage herself. But five years is a long time and Ari has secrets and a past that can still hurt her. Gentry isn't the type of man to allow her to just walk away. One way or the other, he will get what he wants. The guys and Ari might not get their second chance after all.

I enjoyed book one. I loved book two. It's not often that I can honestly say that the second book is better in every way, but in this case, it's the truth. The characters are more in-depth, it's more suspenseful, the sexual tension and steamy scenes are even hotter, the danger more deadly, the story is simply more addictive. Although we get time with all of the guys and Ari, this is Jensen's book. His anger, his hurt, his unpredictability. Jensen is intense. This guy has a heart that has been damaged too many times already and he keeps it guarded but when he loves, he does so completely. I loved his character's story. Heartbreaking.

I also love that Ari is starting to question her role. She needs to figure out exactly who she is and what she wants outside of the guys. To be a complete woman, there must be more to her world than her guys. She's smart, talented, and beautiful. Whether she's writing or singing, she needs to step out of their shadow.

My only criticism of this book concerns their lack of communication. The guys forgiving Ari for not showing up all those years ago and never getting an explanation drives me crazy. Her not discussing their behavior during their time apart is unrealistic. Of course, she doesn't need to know about every last hook-up but she should be warned about regulars. When someone is hitting on or harassing or stalking, the others should know. There is not enough sharing and trust yet. This proved to be major.

I cannot wait until the next book. The transition from their past love to a forever love has me captivated. I cannot get enough of Ari and her guys.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Whoa buddy this book starts with a bang only to end with a doozy of one as well. We pick back up right where book one left off with the revelation of her husband which of course causes some drama for them all. As if this is not hard enough the husband does not want to let her go which just creates even more issues and problems. To keep her safe they take her on tour with them. Add all of this together and really get one emotional roller coaster in the present while we still get flash backs to the past. Very riveting and moving. Really sucks the reader in. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

A new story to get lost in

I am a fan of all things C.R. Jane. I love her writing style and the perspective she gives the characters. Creating more mystery while clearing up mystery... It drives me crazy in the most delightful way! I like the raw realness of these characters. Just burrow down in your blankets with your coffee and spend a few hours reading. Time well spent!

Still loving this series. Soo many emotions in this book as we visit events from the past that made them the way they are. Love how they continue to grow during all the drama of the present. The ending is a brutal cliffhanger.

I like the series but it is so inaccurate.

At the end of the first book, I had a feeling the author was going to act as if Ariana hadn't been beaten to a pulp but was hopeful the author wouldn't just use domestic violence for shock value. Trouble is, Jane does: you get the shock value of the three guys seeing her with the strangle marks around her neck and the bruises all over her body and face but literally a day or two later she's strutting around in a bodycon dress with no discussion of her injuries, or needing to use makeup to cover them up unlike the first book after her husband Gentry beat her and she was due for lunch with her in-laws. In this plot, only 48 hours after the brawl between Ari and her ex-husband for her freedom she's off on a tour bus with the guys and while mention is made that she has nothing of her own, no clothes, no phone or anything else there's not another peep about her injuries from the fight as if it never happened. I didn't like it because it's insulting to domestic violence survivors, and because I can guarantee you strangle marks don't fade Away in 48 hours, but I was willing to let it slide because this is a rockstar fable and they didn't want the unpleasant reality domestic violence staring readers in the face -- insulting but okay. Then we get into this book and the girl gets attacked, she's in a medically induced coma, she's on a ventilator but somehow when he breaks down crying she's squeezes his hand and says his name? Seriously? When you're on a ventilator, you've got a tube down your throat, and there is no talking. So, this author has just gone off the rails with her lack of research or realism, and she's in territory where I can't just brush aside how ridiculous the mistakes she's making are. To be fair these research and reality errors only make me as mad as they do because they have to do with domestic violence she's making it seem like one of those ridiculous action flicks like Last Action Hero where it's a parody of reality and it's just a flesh wound. It doesn't help that the errors I'm angry about come on top of minor plot errors where one of the characters start off one scene wearing a dress and then when they're getting hot and heavy she's wearing a shirt or he throws her on the couch and the next paragraph they're suddenly on a bed. Either the author just can't keep her story straight, or the editing sucks, or both.

Prior to the insulting brush off of domestic violence and the ridiculous lack of medical realism, I was really enjoying this story with the exception of a few moments when the girl was utterly ridiculously a doormat. She says she's not weak because she tried to run away, but she didn't really try anything but running and then conforming. It would have been nice if the character had found a way through a local or federal domestic violence hotline or something that would actually be accurate or helpful even if it meant going outside of local law enforcement because the guy was too connected.

Remember You This Way is such a beautiful, memorable, romantic read as Ari is finally reunited with her boys, now men, and they learn the truth about Gentry. It's also a read full of so much pain and vulnerability and the agony and courage to take a chance on love and let it in, let someone else into your heart who could destroy it completely and trusting that they won't.

Trust and forgiveness is a major theme running throughout the book, as the boys learn to trust and forgive Ari for her betrayal and Ari does the same. Instantly, it's as if she is transported back in time, the boys are just as, if not more, protective of her than they were as kids. For Jesse and Tanner they are so desperate for Ari's love, having felt so adrift, they will not take their second chance for granted. Jensen is harder to let go, his need for Ari is so absolute that even when he is raging at her, that just shows the true depth of his obsession, his love for her.

Ari struggles to find a place amongst the boys as they embark on their tour living out the life they always dreamed about as kids. Unfortunately, some of Ari's fears/ reasoning behind not join them the first time do come true, she has the groupies to deal with, the fans, the awful manager, she feels so out of place because she has no real place of use amongst them even despite Jensen's impromptu attempt to humiliate her in front of thousands of their fans by bringing her on stage to sing. But Ari is strong, she's lived her life under an abusive husband, not having control of her life, not being able to do what she wants, she now has the chance to live her life and she stronger than she ever was before. Coupled with the knowledge that Jesse knows she can sing and was amazed by her, and Tanner's shock and admiration of her songwriting abilities she proves Jensen wrong, knocking him down a peg or two.

Of course, Gentry isn't about to let her go without a fight despite the evidence to the contrary, even with the secret niggling doubt at the back of her mind, Ari ignores it until she can't, until it's too late and shes frozen in fear once more. I honestly thought that this dramatic, heartbreakingly emotional scene was where the author was going to end it. It would have made such a great torturous ending thankfully the author C. R. Jane was a kinder soul and gave us something. But since the third book is already out as I write this it matters little to me because iI can go straight on to book 3 without any waiting! I'll see you at the end ... hopefully Ari will finally gain the courage to expel her demons and confess her truths and gain her happily ever after with her three men.

This review is for the overall 3 book series.

This is a second chance, rockstar romance that is full of angst, anger, gritty hard hitting truths, and a female character who discovers who she is with the support of her 3 rockstars. Please note this book deals with substance abuse, SA, spousal abuse, and child abuse, so be aware of these potential triggers before reading. I didn’t realize I had actually read book 1 of the series when it originally came out and then had forgotten to go check to see if the others were out yet, so I'm glad I rediscovered this series and was able to get their completed story.

I love why choose romance where each guy has a very different connection/relationship with the girl and I also don't mind if they have more of an individual relationship with her vs. more of a group that always shares during the spicy scenes. It would definitely be a great place to dip your toes into this genre to see if you can enjoy books where she has multiple boyfriends.

I did struggle a bit with Tanner's character as I never felt we really got to see his character grow due to his alcohol/drug issues and it was more of a sudden insta change vs. a gradual progression, but I'm glad he decided she was worth putting in the actual effort to make the changes in his own life so that he could be a better partner for her.

I typically am not a huge fan of the jump back and forth between past and present and this is one instance where it was definitely harder to follow along because the past chapters didn't always seem to be in chronological order. My brain just processes things in a very linear way so it is always harder for me to have past/present jumps throughout a book, but even harder when the timeline isn't clear as far as being linear for the past chapter order. The third book is the one where it was harder to really determine where in the timeline the past events occurred and that made it seem like the pacing was a lot slower compared to the first 2 books because my brain just struggled to process things because it wasn't always clear at what point in the timeline it was taking place. I didn’t remove stars for this as it is honestly a personal preference thing, but wanted to point it out in case there are others who struggle when reading a non-linear storyline.

Book 2. These are too easy not to read. So dramatic and honestly the main female characters got no charisma but yet the boys love her. Love the lazy vibes.

Spoilers
Like the end of the last book the boys come in after Jesse and her fuck and she tried to explain, they don’t let her talk u til the sheet drops and they see the bruises all over her body. They rage and Jensen asks why her husband is on tv, twisting a story that people broke into their house last night hurt them and kidnapped her. Police looking for her. The boys try to pause the tour but they can. She goes with them and sleeps with tanner, but Jensen is harder to break as he has trust issues, his family were crazy and his sister comitted suicide and he found her. Back in the day people were threatening her and Ali shaming due to her relationship with the boys. She didn’t tell them and they found out and stopped everyone from it. She travels with them but finds the boys are worried for her a hiding something from her. Jensen and her passion fk but he still broken from her. In her hotel room, she walks into a box of pictures of her past, especially one of her in a hotel room looking broken. The boys come in and see them but no she’s not ready for an explanation. She breaks down crying and they take care of her, and she realise that’s what they have been keeping from her, that Gentry is stalking her, the next morning she gets dressed up like she does with Gentry and the boys see her facade. That day she goes to their concert and there is an explosion, gentry is there with a gun and shoots her. Turns out the boys assistant helped him, but didn’t realise he was that crazy. Jensen gets to her first and does cpr. The nurse later telling him that he saved her life, he need to hear that after feeling like he didn’t do enough when losing his sister and later mum. Adriana is in an induced coma.

I enjoyed book 1 of this series but really got lost in the story (in a good way) in book 2 and I didnt want it to end. I loved seeing more flashbacks to see some of the guys' history and why they are triggered/act the way they do in situations. I loved seeing the guys succumb to their feelings (some but up valiant efforts haha) and realize that everyone made mistakes but they can move on together and be there for each other and let their love grow and rekindle. I was annoyed with all the secrets staying hidden, but I can get why. I understood Ari's frustration with everything, I would be angry at them for keeping such important things from her that put her in severe danger.

Duuuude her ex-husband is a piece of work. Totally called the traitor amongst them, I will say there are still a lot of questions I have, hopefully they will be answered in book 3. I really enjoyed the adorable moments with some of the guys and Ari, Jesse is so endearing, Tanner is so troubled but is so in need of Ari and her touch and loved, and Jensen is still up in the air for me. He has always been the most distant of the group and seeing what he did while away from her broke my heart and really started to endear me to him, but again some of his actions in book 2 weren't great.

That ending was so jammed packed, kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to make sure everyone was ok. Can't wait to read book 3 (which it was on audio but oh well). Storyline was 4.5, slightly better than book 1. Seamless transitions with present and past flashbacks ❤️

Narration I think was a little better than book 1 but the quality still wasn't great and Tanner's accent change a bit randomly in the book (not as bad as book 1 though). More of a solid 4 stars from me than the 3-3.5 stars in book 1.

Amazing Read!!

I knew after I finished the first book, I was not going to be able to stop and do a review. So I decided to do a review of the series instead.
The growth in this series amazes me. Four broken souls coming together to become a family.
At first I wasn’t sure if I liked Ariana. She seemed a bit too timid and didn’t stand up for herself as much as I would have liked. But then I got to know her. The reasons why she seemed that way. And man, has that girl been through hell and back. But she somehow still finds the will to follow her dreams.
I think the conquering of demons was one of my favorite things about this book. Each of the four main characters has demons that they fight with. Has secrets that they try to hide. But all four of them are always there for each other. Are always there to be a confidant.
This series is filled with love, drugs, pain, heartbreak, joy, and music. I loved every minute of the emotional roller coaster that @crjaneauthor took me on!

Ariana let the monsters win

Ariana is kind of self-sabotaging. She could have prevented each and every heartbreak if she had just talked to the guys. Be it the issue of her stepdad or the school bullying, she gave the villains power over her by keeping silent. I don't understand why. Be it her pride, her insecurity or her shame, it all caused her downfall. She loved the guys but forgot that loving means trusting someone with all your parts, both good and bad.
In the present, yes I know the guys protected her by not telling them but I kind of understand their point. They want her happy and her happiness would revert back the moment she knew. And it did. She converted back to her southern wife persona for a moment. And she knew someone stalked her when she went running, why didn't she tell them? If she had atleast informed them, one of the guys could have gone running with her.
I am not a fan of self-sabotaging females and Ariana tops that list.

Book 2 in the SOUNDS OF US series.  Continuing the story, it keeps the pace up, not giving any of the characters a break or breathing space.  The past is still not resolved, so it must be in the final book that all secrets are revealed.  While Ari is enjoying being with her boys, she is starting to feel restricted in her life. That she is being protected at all times and questioning where her future will be.  She doesn't want to just a side note to the super group, she wants to have her own purpose in life.
I'm glad that Ari is realising she can now stretch her wings, to see what her life can become.  Unknown to her, the boys are hiding that her ex-husband is stalking her and trying to get to her.  Needless to say lack of communication is one of my pet peeves in books. The guys individual histories are now explored and we find out their lives are not as perfect as they may seem from the outside.

So Intense!

OMG, from start to finish this book keeps you into on the edge of your seat. I have been up all night reading books 1 &2 so you know they are awesome. Ariana finally is trying to do something for herself and break away from her very toxic situation. But one thing you can't do is run from a crazy demon cause they will hunt you down. She is finally where she should have been with the three men who love her. But you always have to keep your guard up and also don't do stupid. Be glad when someone loves you enough to protect you.
Enough said. If you haven't read these books get them right now. You are out for intense thrill right. There is a lot of love to go around but the opposite is here also with hate, possession and crazy. I can't wait for book 3 to come out.

As the boys take Ari on tour, their lives are complete, they're together again. That's not to say that things are healed and perfect, because they're far from it. Everyone is still keeping secrets and nobody is telling the stories that need to be told. Gentry is still after her, Ari knows in the back of her mind that he won't stop coming for her. To top things off the band's new manager can't stand Ari and is making everyone's lives miserable. But the boys are determined to protect Ari, no matter what. When Gentry finally finds Ari, he wastes no time in trying to ruin her forever. Explosions rock the stadium and the boys are pulled in the opposite direction of Ari, they can't save her. She's alone, and that's when she feels everything slipping away.

Holy fuck!
I wanted to cry sooo bad. We still don't know wtf happened to make her leave them back then but whatever it was, must've been bad.

This story was just crazy though. Between their manager, her ex, and their budding relationship it was all soo crazy! I really hope we get the answers and closure in book 3. I was hoping some would get answered in this book but really, it was just them getting their new relationship going and running from her ex.
It's a pretty fast paced story and to me it was super emotional
Some one else said in a review I had read that there was a shit ton of smut. Honestly, there wasn't much smut at all. There was a couple sex scenes mentioned but it wasn't super detailed or anything. Nothing to make you blush

34/75 Physical Books

I purchased this book in December 2021, and I was excited that the second novel was the shortest (so I knew it would not take long to finish). It was a little bit over 150 pages long, and it took me less than a day to finish (the storyline is starting to get really good now).

This book was just as entertaining as the first, if not just a little bit better! There is still alternating between the past and the present (which I am really starting to enjoy). The bigger picture of their relationships and their past dramas has been so interesting that I cannot wait to learn more. I have also really been enjoying the side-plot with Ari's ex-husband, and the way the guys are working to protect her from him. Would reccomend thus far for both the musical tour aspect and the bonds between the characters!
