Seeing the Christmas lights and happy families only makes her more determined to have a child of her own, but her divorce has made her wary of relationships. She wants a baby, not a baby daddy. I received this arc of Texas Christmas Baby Bargain in exchange for my honest review. This is the final book in Eve Gaddy’s wonderful series, Texas True. Book 6 is Cole Walker’s story. Cole is the oldest sibling and although he has a condo in Whiskey River, he travels a lot for his company. Although he has decided to bring on a partner and stay home to do more administrative work. He realizes he wants to have what his siblings have, a wife, kids and a home. Cole hasn’t had a steady relationship for years because of the heartbreak from the breakup with the woman he was falling for. Years ago, he was dating Micki Kennedy until he went of town for his job and she got back together with her ex boyfriend. Cole is shocked to run into Micki once he’s back in Whiskey River. She is surprised to see him as well. She has taken over the art gallery and has recently moved to town.
Micki has decided she wants to have a baby but no baby daddy or shared custody. She rules out the sperm bank and after seeing Cole asks him to donate sperm but have no contact with the child. He is insulted by her request and tells her he would only consent to conceiving the baby the old fashioned way and he would be part of the child’s life. She is divorced from the man she originally left Cole for and after he lied to her about wanting children she doesn’t plan to trust another man. Cole suggests they get to know each other again and date and revisit the baby issue later. The two still have lots of chemistry and they share a steamy reunion. They continue to spend time together, enjoying the Whiskey River holiday events. Some of Cole’s family already knew Micki from the gallery but didn’t realize they had a history. He includes her in the family events. Both Cole and Micki are wondering what the future will bring them and if they can compromise on the baby rules.
This is a terrific second chance romance (one of my favorite genres). Micki and Cole are great together. Both have issues in their past they need to work through. I enjoyed seeing all the characters from the prior stories and happy they had roles in this book too. There is a bit of suspense and angst as the couple navigates a plan for the future. I am sad the series is over as I’ve enjoyed it so much. Eve has given us another great series and added a wonderful family to the Whiskey River/Last Chance Texas group. Another five star book I highly recommend.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
While this is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to fully understand and enjoy this book.
I'm thinking that the author really needs to come up with more Walker siblings or cousins!!! This can't be the end of the series. It just can't be!!!!
I have LOVED all of the stories in this series. Just like the prior books, this one is just so well written and enjoyable, that I was completely lost in it's magic! The scenes were just so well written that I could picture myself right there in the middle of the action. This entire series should have movies based on each one!!!
Cole Walker comes home to finally settle down and wants a wife and children. After a near miss of an oil rig explosion, he decides it is time to do more administration work and get a partner to help with the travel. Upon returning to Whiskey River, he goes to the art gallery and while looking at a few pieces the co-owner comes up to see if he needs any help. Hearing that voice from the past, was rather shocking.
Micki Kennedy comes to Whiskey River to start over. She is divorced from her lying ex. She doesn't want to get married again BUT she wants a baby. The thought of a fertility clinic isn't something that she is looking forward to but what else can she do? That is, until she see someone from her past. Someone that she was seeing but left to get back together with her old boyfriend who she later married. When Cole turns around in her gallery, she is flabbergasted but the possibilities are starting to change.
Can Cole forgive her for breaking his heart over 10 years ago? Will he go along with her request to be a sperm donor and not a baby daddy?
This book is written in a dual POV format. I love getting that glimpse into both characters thoughts to understand this better.
This story is a sexy one so just a word of caution on that note but you could overlook those few short scenes.
Texas Christmas Baby Bargain by Eve Gaddy, book six in her Texas True series, is a sweet and moving story about family, second chances in life and love, as well as how when love is involved, sometimes goals change. After years working with the oil rigs in the Gulf industry, being late for an appointment and narrowly escaping a rig fire, thirty-five year old Cole Walker, the last single Walker sibling, decides it’s time to return to Whiskey River and settle down; wife, family, house and dog included. He never expected to see the woman who left him years ago and married someone else; the woman no other compared to; the new co-owner of the local gallery, Micki Kennedy. It must be fate. Micki, now divorced, has moved to his hometown and wants a baby; feeling her biological clock ticking. She is surprise to see Cole, and decides he is the one to be her baby’s sperm donor. From that first meeting, the sparks fly from the sizzling chemistry between these two. Cole and Micki will need to move on from their past before they can re-build their friendship and make their dreams come true.
Ms Gaddy wrote a wonderfully, sizzling and emotional story that should not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with off the charts, sizzling chemistry, intense emotions, and charming secondary characters rooting for Cole and Micki to get the family and future they deserve, together. I loved seeing the entire Walker clan and catching up with all the exciting family news. I highly recommend Texas Christmas Baby Bargain to other readers, as this was a wonderful finale to a much loved series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 3.5 stars. “Texas Christmas Baby Bargain”, by Eve Gaddy (Tule Publishing), is about second chances in love, fate and finding hidden dormant feelings you weren’t aware of. Rekindling a relationship broken ten years ago is not an easy path but Cole and Micki do it with different motivations. I liked their relationship, both intense and passionate, but also with mundane scenes involving socializing with family and friends. I found the main characters and the past and present relationship well developed and felt they were good together. They’re both driven, intelligent, affectionate and devoted to their families and work. I loved having the hero’s point of view and felt his inner thoughts and speech were very realistic and believable for a male character. The sincerity and straightforwardness about his feelings and emotions is attractive, too. I also liked how the author handled the hero’s past hurt and pain about the break-up; it was a sensitive exploitation of masculine vulnerability, with touches of self-deprecating humor. Micki’s personal ‘project’ is one many women might relate to. The easy, loving relationship between Cole and his family, and how Micki fits so well in it and in the small community of Whiskey River, Texas, are so good to watch.
Cole Walker, the last single Walker sibling, gets his story. After years working in the the oil rigs in the Gulf, thirty-five year old Cole wants to settle down, have a wife and a family, dog included. After a rig fire, that decision has him returning home. Whom he never expected to see was the woman who left him years ago and married someone else. The woman no other compared to. That woman is the new co-owner of the local gallery, Micki Kennedy. Micki, now divorced, has moved to his hometown and wants a baby. She too is surprise to see Colt, and wonders if he will be willing to be a sperm donor. From that moment on, sparks fly. Will they get their second chance ? This was a sweet and touching story about family, second chances in life and love, as well as how when love is involved, sometimes goals change. It was a delightful story that gave the reader a chance to visit with characters from previous stories and see how everyone was doing. A wonderful finale to a much loved series. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Texas Christmas Baby Bargain (Texas True Book 6) by Eve Gaddy is a small town second chance romance. New art gallery owner Micki Kennedy and Cole Walker knew each other years ago. Now Micki wants a child minus the man so she chooses Cole to be the donor unaware that he no longer wants to be footloose and fancy free. What a journey these two go on to find out that they can have it all.
Interesting story that has a theme that has been done before but not with two such strong will characters. It is the characters that make this story so of course the focus is rightly put on them. It may be Christmas when they meet again but it would be just as good of a story any time of the year.
Romance book fans will enjoy reading how these two get so tangled up, then find a way to untangle and turning around to weave their lives together.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I typically really like this author and her stories, so I was really excited to read this one. However this book was a bit of a let down for me, it just did not feel like her normal writing style and in some places felt rushed and others seems to drag and have way too much detail. For the first part of the book I really liked both characters I felt like the book started strong, I felt in the end that Cole was a bit of a jerk and just pushed until he got what he wanted. Micki seemed like a strong independent person ready to take on the world but once she was with Cole she game this timid shy person. I really liked Alexas she was a good friend and a really strong character through out. I also really Liked Micki's Mom she was so fun and had me laughing out loud that women held nothing back that came to her mind. This book does contain sex scenes so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book just was not for me.
Another fun read in this series and this time we get the story of the last Walker sibling. Cole Walker has always been foot loose and fancy free after getting his heart broken when his girlfriend walked away years ago and he has been busy working on oil rigs ever since A near death experience on one of those oil rigs as him rethinking his life though and he has now decided he wants the wife the kids and even the family dog. What he didn't expect is that he would reconnect with Micki Kennedy the girl that walked away and broke his heart She is now divorced and also wants a family the only thing is she doesn't want anything but a baby and she sees him only as a potential sperm donor. Can they reconnect in a more meaningful way and can they build a future together You will have to read to see
Micki's life is on the right track. She has gotten a divorce from her no good lying husband. That relationship has soured her opinion of marriage and relationships in general. Because of all of that she wants to have a baby on her own without a father for her child. Cole has survived a near death experience and has decided to return to Whisky River to find his happily ever after with a family of his own. He wants to settle down, get married, have kids and a dog the whole package. He is surprised when he runs into the woman who broke his heart. What's even more difficult to believe is that she asked him to be a donor so she can have a baby on her own. She wants a donor not a father for her child. That is not something he would ever do. How can he convince her that the feelings are still there and that maybe, just maybe they can have the complete happily ever after together. Good read.
Cole's heart was broken when Micki reunited and married her former boyfriend. Now ten years later, Cole is surprised when he sees her in his hometown. Longing for a baby and thinking that Cole is only back in his hometown temporarily, Micki asks him to be her sperm donor. Cole is taken back. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a terrific second chance romance. I appreciate that Micki is afraid to trust due to her ex-husband. I love how Cole is willing to take a chance and pursue a relationship with her. This book contains plenty of sweetness and steaminess.
Cole Walker has made a decision: move home to Whiskey River and start a family at last. Micki Kennedy was the one that he lost and when he runs into her, he knows it is fate. She is surprised to see him and decides he is the one to be her baby’s sperm donor. A crazy second chance romance with a love foundation but doubtful walls. Not just a Christmas treat. (spicy scenes alert) I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This second chance Christmas romance is a very heartwarming read. Cole comes home determined to settle down and start a family. Micki is divorces and has moved back and wants a baby. There is a lot of chemistry between these two. Will they be able to move on from the past and make both their dreams come true. This book was a incredible ending to this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Cole Walker decides to come home to live instead of the fast life of a bachelor on the go. When he comes home, he finds himself having to face his past when he comes face to face with the girl who broke his heart. Micki moved back to take over the job at the Art Gallery and confronts her past with Cole when he comes looking for the other owner. This is a sweet holiday, second chance at love romance with well written characters.
I enjoyed this second chance romance, I liked the characters, some parts of the story could be a trigger for people as it talks about miscarriage.
Micky returns to Whiskey River after her divorce . Cole is her past flame and they reconnect in town. She is determined to have a baby and asks Cole for help but he wants to be involved in his child’s life. Will they have a HEA?
I liked reading the stories about Whiskey river and would read more from Eve Gaddy.
Yet another heartwarming romance from Eve Gaddy. I absolutely adore her characters and Cole and Micki are just as relatable and lovable as her others. I really enjoyed how despite it being a Christmas themed romance the couple still faced their own issues that made it realistic but still enjoying Christmas miracles and the spirit of Christmas
Micki and Coles second chance Christmas Romance just may need a Christmas miracle to survive, and maybe another miracle to make Micki’s wish come true. This is a great addition to the Texas True series. The sizzle between these two, and the some unexpected twists held my interest. It was fun catching up with couples from the earlier books In the series .
I voluntarily read an advanced reader's copy of this book for a honest opinion.
Another great book by Eve Gaddy, Texas Christmas Baby Bargain. A heartwarming second chance holiday story in the Texas True series, book six. I enjoyed reading Cole and Micki's story and visiting with characters from past books in the series.
10 years ago she had broken up with her boyfriend and dated Cole who worked oil wells and while he was gone working for a month without contact her old boyfriend came and talked her into another chance. She has returned to Whiskey River, TX. Having broken up with him again. He had promised her babies … and he lied and she miscarried and he got snipped. He was awful and cheater. But, she still wants a baby, just can’t bring herself to pick a sperm donor, so she goes after Cole now they are both in Whiskey River. Donor is not enough for him, but can he trust her to stay and build a family. This is a good love story with some but not too much sex.
Lovely story. Wonderful characters. Lovers to not to lovers again. Babies and Christmas - what could be better? Only complaint is a little long on the stressing on past breakup. I found myself telling the book to freaking move on already. Lolol
Texas Christmas Baby Bargain is a wonderful book about second chances with strong characters. This book is written in a dual POV format which gives you perspectives from both main characters. Micki and Cole are great together with great chemistry. The book ends with a HEA.
Great story about Cole and Micki reconnecting after 10 years and finding that the chemistry was still there. It was a high of a whirl wind but they were in love and knew they had found their happily ever after.
It is a wonderful book. It has strong characters. It is emotinal.they meet again after 10 years and fall in love again. It is interesting how they work through the problems that occurs.
This is the 1st book I have read by this author..and I guess this is the last in this series...now I need to go read the rest of them...I loved the plot and all of the family in this story...Happy books make me happy...well written :)
That was a waste of my time but it’s my own fault for being too stubborn to DNF IT. I skipped entire pages and dialogue that wasn’t about the main plot of the book. This one just wasn’t for me 😕
