“They want to auction you away. I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Atropos has wings that make him look intimidating. He’s considered a brute by many but is actually very intelligent and sensitive. He has always lived in his brother’s shadow and has never tried to stand on his own before.
After settling into her bed one night, she wakes to a bright light that lifts her from her bed and then renders her unconscious. The next thing she knows, she’s waking up on an alien ship.
She soon realizes that the man she’s been seeing was an alien.
She’s told she can’t go back to Earth now after seeing them. Atropos tries to make her stay more comfortable by bringing her things from Earth for familiarity. Atropos spends more and more time with Amber and their love blossoms.
Unfortunately for them, Atropos has an older brother who has other plans for her race, like holding them captive and auctioning them off to the black market to be used as captive incubators.
Will she and Atropos be able to save her fellow humans from being auctioned off? Will Amber get to live the life she wants, rather than living a forced one?
Alien Captive's Abduction is book 3 of the Alien Abduction series. It is a sci-fi alien romance novel with NO cheating, NO cliffhangers, and a happy ending!
Interesante extraño mundo con polillas y mariposas alienígenas
The alien captive's Abduction de Zara Zenia y Juno Wells serie Alien Abduction libro 3
The book was building up to a big climax and then just... stopped? There was literally no conclusion, no resolution to any of the big conflict. Literally the last 25% of the pages are, instead of the book, multiple previews for the authors' other books. Why should I read those when the book I was reading wasn't even complete?
I can't remember any interesting details about the characters, the plot is mildly interesting but overall lackluster, and the writing is readable though nothing to write home about (..ha). Thankfully this one has far less grammar errors than the last, but to just deprive your readers of an actual conclusion so you can plug your other books is so insulting.
I wasn't even expecting anything good when I bought this book and I'm still disappointed.
This one was better than the last, but all 3 in this series are way too similar too each other. I felt like I was more or less reading repeatedly reading the same story. It wasn't put together horribly but also not great. It was ridiculous for Atropos to want to stand beside his brother in the future when his brother just hurt his mate and was about to execute them both. It made no sense. And all 3 male main characters in this series so far are weak. It bugged me. They don't have to be alpha males, but they need to not be wusses either.
A romance story that will only take you on a trip of superb syfy romance only to have you wait for the next novel *tears*. It does end on a good note though and that's all I'm saying about the novel. Amber is just your average plain human in every sense. To her at least. Her favorite subject: Space. Her newest interest a man named Atropo. Who works at a local flower shop. Only unknown to her and the other humans. Her love interest is about to get a lot more freakier. When she's gets abducted by some weird looking flying aliens she doesn't know what to do at first. But as time goes on, one thing is clear... Amber may like Atropo but she must help her fellow humans escape. Can she do it all?
Amber’s time on the telescope was magical. She watched the stars and planets and was in awe at the immensity of the universe. When her time was up, she ran across campus in the warm, drizzling rain. Her only friend, Erin, called out to her and they talked under a leafy tree. Erin was studying astrophysics and engineering with a hope of entering the space program. Amber loved the stars, but she knew the space program was out of her reach.
Amber accepted a ride from Erin to the local flower shop where a man she met from Greece was working over the summer. He knew everything about flowers, and Amber was fascinated. Atropos would be returning home soon, so she wanted to enjoy his company when she could. She told him about a comet she was tracking and got the nerve to ask him if he wanted to join her in a week when it should be visible in the sky. He agreed, then asked if she would have dinner and a movie with him now. Things were going well!
Asleep in her bed, a bright light woke her. She was floating upward toward the ceiling! Before she could wildly panic, she passed out. When she woke, there were two winged creatures in the room. One left and she ran past the other through the curtain, not realizing it was a balcony. She ran into the railing and fell over the side, just grasping the rail to stop her fall. The other creature pulled her up, and she looked into the eyes of Atropos!
Amber’s all-consuming desire was to find a way home, to stop Flight Leader Actian’s plan involving humans. She explored the ship as she learned how to control the computer. And she found things they were keeping secret. How far can her skills and determination take her? For all their technology, the Lepidopterix know very little about their own civilization and future. Can Amber save humanity as well as save this alien culture? And does she realize there is more at stake than just what she wants – a war will be started if promises are not kept with other alien races! So much depends on the outcome here! But this is not nearly over!
Wow, this book is a definite example of amazing world-building! Generations of Lepidopterix (think of butterflies and moths) are living lives in their spaceship with no cares or concerns other than the harvesting of humans for incubation hosts. They have only a loose connection to their own partially forgotten history and no means of self-procreation. The story line is mind-boggling, but so intriguing. The characters are multi-dimensional and keep the reader bouncing back and forth between admiration and annoyance. I definitely recommend this book. It’s so different from everything else I’ve ever read and makes the reader care deeply about a resolution to their crisis. Your emotions will be all over the place with this one, and I’m very sure you will not guess the ending – don’t skip a single page!
I love alien sci-fi stories. This one created by Zara Zenia and Juno Wells is amazing! The world building is so complete and detailed, that I almost felt like I was there with them.
Amber is an astronomy student and her best friend, Erin, is an astrophysical engineer, looking to become an astronaut. Amber does not have the physical endurance or physical characteristics that would have her selected for the same program, so she spends her spare time gazing through large telescopes at space and its wonders. Amber is shy, but she has made one other friend at the university, a florist. His name is Atropos and he is from Greece. He loves making flower bouquets and frequently gives Amber at least one perfect bloom, telling her about its origin. He asks her out on a date for a movie and dinner afterwards. She gladly accepts. They go to an Italian restaurant where she learns that he is a vegetarian, so they both have eggplant parmesan and tiramisu. He lets her know that he will soon have to return home and that is a long, long ways away. They may never get to see each other again.
When get gets home, she is sad that soon Atropos will be leaving her, so she just falls into bed, fully dressed and places a pillow lightly over her face. There is an intensely bright light, right above her head and she feels like she is floating upwards. Dream or reality?
Amber wakes to hear two males arguing not far from her. One is Atropos. He is angry and wants her sent home immediately. She soon learns that Atropos and his more colorful brother are large butterfly-like aliens. Her Atropos is more like a huge horned moth with dull coloring. She learns that they are lepidopterix. Atropos takes her to the huge beautiful flower filled garden with an enormous fountain at its center. They sit and her tells her of his history, at least as much as any of them now knows. Over the millions of years, they have lost most of their history, even how to maintain and continue to advance their society.
I don't want to spoil this wonderful story for you, so I will close by recommending that you immediately get this stunningly beautiful story. I do hope that there will be follow-on stories to this book. The 'story' is far from finished. I received this book as an advanced copy and chose to read and review it. The opinions expressed her are my own. WHAT A STORY!! BEST YET from Juno Wells and writing partner, Zara Zenia. 5 fabulous stars! MORE PLEASE!!!!
The friend she made at the flower shop is really an alien, though she was unaware of that until she woke up in a cage on an alien ship. The winged, horned alien Atropos who she thought was her human friend on earth is really the brother to the ruling alien, Actian. It seems Actian is abducting human females to help re-populate their dwindling species. Actian plans on auctioning off the females to other alien species to help them to breed also. Atropos is gifted Amber by his brother, and he must do his best to make her understand that he cares for her and would like to keep her as his own. When Amber learns what is being done to her fellow humans, she convinces Atropos that it is wrong to kidnap these humans and try to turn them into breeders, the Alepidopterix don't see them as people, they treat them more like animals to be used as surrogates to breed only. Amber and Atropos put a plan into action to try and free the humans but it doesn't work out as they hoped. They did send some of the humans back to earth but they try to free more. There are other alien species there for the auction to buy their own humans to breed and that puts a tighter time limit to try and free the humans but complications arise. This story took a while for me to get into but I realized I needed all the info to set up the story. The world building ( really how large and complex the mother ship is) was perfect, I could see it as I read the descriptions. There were quite a few tension filled events and some risk of lost lives, but it worked out pretty well for our main characters for the most part. It does have an ending but I felt like there was more to come, maybe a continuation of the H and h and how they go on with a new life.
I've read a lot of alien abduction stories. A lot. I have to say...this one was really great! It was wonderfully different with a theme I have never encountered before. Shy, quiet, nerdy girl, Amber befriends an equally unobtrusive young man she believes comes from Greece. Imagine her surprise to find out that Atropos is really an avian-like alien (complete with wings) on a mission to secure humans to be used as incubator/hosts for the next generation of embryo/eggs for a species rendered sterile and forced to rely on this method to continue their own survival. No mating? Just embryo implantation and waiting a few days until the egg develops enough to survive outside of its host who is returned safely to Earth none -the-wiser? Unique concept here! Of course, nothing is as simple as it seems and Atropos' brother, Actian (the leader), has a different idea to ensure their continuation that spells trouble for the humans both in the alien ship and on Earth. Throw in some different, menacing aliens and one human female intent on saving her fellow planetmates and you have one quick-paced, entertaining read that was full of nail-biting, alien action with a side of romance. My only complaint was the milk-toast character that Atropos displayed at the beginning of the story. I was so used to reading about superalpha aliens that Atropos' mild manner really grated on me. But...he redeemed himself nicely in the end. While this read more like a happy-for-now instead of a happy-ever-after, I was very pleased with the story and was delighted I got to read it. I can hardly wait to see if this story will continue as a series. It needs to. It really, really does.
I truly feel like when authors combine their efforts to write a story together there needs to be more planning involved. As a reader you can feel and see the different authors’ speaking by the way they write. This was such an amazing concept with aliens that look like butterflies and moths desperate to keep their race alive that I was wanting to see the full end of it. It was drawn out too much with details to things that just didn’t really add to the overall story, like extra fluff to an amazing pillow. The relationship between Amber and Atropos was so cute and innocent that I would’ve loved to see more of that and less of the “decadent flowers and gardens”. Then of course when things actually start looking up and we get some resolutions to the impeding doom of the human race, the book just ends with a “bring it on.” Seriously?? Nothing was resolved. No answers to any of the questions that were being dragged through my mind during the entire story. And then of course it’s not like there’s a sequel involved. NOPE. We are just left with a cliche saying and our questions. So infuriating! Combining authors should never be a thing writers do. Each writer has their own technique and it seems as though they are holding each other down from their full potential because they don’t want to step on figurative toes. So my advice for the writers.. stick to your own stories. They are MUCH better that way.
I have to say that I was captivated by this book. I have read all kinds of scifi and shifter stories, and have yet to see something as creative as this. I was expecting Atropos to be somewhat 'normal' when it came to him as an alien, but I was absolutely fascinated by what he and his people, the Lepidopterix, are. Now, I know that I've kind of repeated myself, but I just don't want to give anything away. You need to discover the mystery that is Atropos for yourself. So basically, Amber is an awkward young woman who understands the stars far better than people. But there's one man who likes Amber, Atropos. They talk and eventually go on a date, but nothing is going to come of their relationship because Atropos is supposed to return to 'Greece'. Atropos' brother captures Amber as a gift, and as they say the rest is history. I'm hoping there's going to be more to their story!! If not, I'm going to be very sad because even though the story does come to a conclusion, it's one that leads to more. So please, please, please Zara Zenia and Juno Wells, please write more of Amber, Atropos and the revolution. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.
I really enjoyed this story, which takes the topic of equality and approaches it from a sci-fi angle, where this kind of human isn't claiming superiority over that kind of human, or even this paranormal over that normal, but Aliens are confident they are superior to all humans. When Amber stands up for "her people" it is not some carefully defined segment of Earth's population, rather it is the entire population of Earth she sets out to defend.
Her dreams, and her idealism kept me turning the pages, even as I hoped to get questions about Atropos and his people answered. I feel a lot of my questions were answered, though a few remain, and this book was so incredibly rich in world building that I hope this species gets a sequel, perhaps following up with Amber and Atropos, even if only in a shorter novella.
This is the kind of fun, entertaining quick read that got me to join Kindle Unlimited.
Ladies you have do it again I loved this story about Amber a shy girl never really fitting in but is always looking into the stars and hoping one day to go into space little does she know her dream is about to come true but not the way she thought, meet Atropos he is the man at the flower shop that Amber talks to and gets on well with but he is from Greece and will be going home soon or so she thinks, what is it about this man that draws her in and makes her feel alive she never thought a gorgeous man like him would be interested in a curvy girl like her but he is and that’s the problem he wants her to go with him and his brother sees this a kidnaps her for him problem solved or is it. Read this book for yourself it is amazing I wouldn’t recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book for an honest review.
This is a intriguing & entertaining book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page til the end. What you will find in this fabulous book is: an alien with emotions, a determined human female, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, some action, abduction, human slave trade, reproduction purposes/surrogates, betrayal, distress, emotional feelings, defiance, unexplained pregnancy, conflict, escape, rebellion, love and passion. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The depiction of the aliens is imaginative and interesting and catches the readers attention, the main characters are well developed and entwine well with each other with regards to the situation they find themselves in and react with fears, doubts, excuses, needs and desires. I would really recommend this book.
Wow what a huge predicament Amber got herself into when she found out that the guy she was crushing on name Atropos turn out to be what she didn't expecting. Imagine her surprises to find out not only is he not human but a alien. A alien with wings on a mission to secure humans to be used as breeding stocks for the next generation of lepidopterix. I'm telling you this enjoyable and entertaining read will have at the edge of your seat with all the drama, suspense, intrigue and of steamy romance. I'm really hoping there's going to be more to Amber and Atropos story the way it ended left me wanting more. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I've read all 3 of the Alien Abduction books in this series. I liked them all, but I think this 3rd one is the best so far! I could hardly put it down! I must also say that the fluid way in which it read was also exceptional! The flight and way the aliens in this story evolved was unique. I like the way the aliens species was responsible for making moths & butterflies and introducing them to to Earth as a way to show that extensive testing was done to ensure their species would be able to survive on the planet. I have to say that I'll be looking for other books by Zara Zenia to find out what other story lines she comes up with.
This is good, not my favorite so far in this series though. Amber is very brave, very bossy and very smart. I like Atropos, he's very dedicated, certain "things" about him would have had me running. Their predicament seems to be a lose-lose situation without resolution. There story is interesting, more like a 3 1/2 star when I compare it to the others in this series that I have already enjoyed reading. Something was different with the writing style this time and to me the ending seemed abrupt even though it's not supposed to be a cliffhanger.
I am so ready to read the next book! The past two stories I have not been able to put my Kindle down! I hope go ahead and read the rest of this series
I am sorry to that not everyone gave this series a disappointing review. I had a little trouble getting through the first book but after that I couldn't put them down. This story had me on the edge of my seat. Attropos and Amber are fated mates. When the find out that Amber is pregnant the fight hard to save all the kidnapped human females. I am so anxious to see what happens after they are broken out of prison.
Wow Ms. Zenia has written an abduction story with the alien's being substantially different than the usual ones. Her depiction of these aliens, butterflies and moths, is absolutely beautiful. However their beauty is deceiving as their abduction of human women is for use as breeding vessels. This is a terrific and surprising story that introduces lots of new concepts and ideas and will hold you captive till the last page.
It was bad enough thinking he left, now to have him stand in front of her. Things get dicey as her bestie is on board too. If there is one thing she learned it was to never stop trying. On the course set, a great many things change. Is she ready for it? Big fan of Juno's and love the authors she writes with. One of my favorite reading material is men from the stars. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy for an honest review.
Interesting take on aliens. He hero sounds like a death's head moth, his brother sounds like a Luna moth. Said brother is desperate for the survival of the species and makes a big mistake. Seriously, they could've been working with humans the whole time. The heroine is strong, loyal, brave and smart. She doesn't change the hero, just supports who he is.
I did not liked this story. The way those alien look and the others one that they want to sell the women too... just to far out there. The story has no real end, you have no idea what will happen to the 2 lovers and the pregnancy after they have to flee the space ship, before they both get killed . You do not know where they will go and / or end up. Story stops right in the middle, so to say. not about .. So, nope I can not recommend this book at all.
A very good well-written story what an ending cannot wait to read the next story. This is Atropos and Ambers story and what is going to be their future. This is a page turner I will say it does end on a cliffhanger or at least a tie into the next book. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest Amber could not believe it. The guy she had a crush on is an alien. Atropos was trying to insure the survival of his people, but at was cost. Would he really go thru with it ? I loved the storytelling + the characters The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
An exciting, fun, suspenseful, adventurous, hot and full of surprises read. She knows where her life is headed and then one day it changes completely. What a way to be woken up. And then to find out what you are wanted for. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I really enjoyed this story great characters plenty of excitement plenty of drama and intrigue and romance can't say anything bad about this book because it was a perfect read for me I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This is a great read and I didn't want to put this down, the story and the characters are really well written. The story has suspense and drama, a great amount of detail. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This book is just as good if not better, than the previous ones? A love story with enough action and drama to keep you on your toes. A beautiful series; I love each book and hope to see more with awesome characters.
Arc review for honest review. Amber is human. when after a date with Atropos she awakens two men talking to realize she's not alone, being kidnapped. this is an awesome story. I love how I could see the butterfly Atropos and the other aliens.
This got kind of odd, kind of fast. It does say he has wings, but it doesnt mention [Spoiler] Hes a moth person?! lol. I guess when i think wings i assume feathered or leathery. So I guess in that aspect it did catch me off guard.
